I reallly couldn't care less about any of the X-Lites but this video really provided some valuable information about the X9 Lite. I'm pretty interested in that thing despite it having been mostly negatively received so far. It seems like a great transmitter to train a friend on, been needing that for a while now. Knowing that X series receivers work with the new internal RF module and that there wil be an XJT Lite is great.
That is literally the best stick cam I have ever seen, very cool, awesome job. As for the xlites I just can't fly with thumbs, maybe if these came out way back when I was still an avid gamer, but now I am a pincher and there is no going back.

I Think copyrighting the alphabet is the best solution so no one can type anything. I think more things would be accomplished.
@Graham Stewart The thing is that if you bought the same 900mhz chip the bom to make it work would be identical to frsky, its not that they choose the parts rather than they are required from the rf manufacturer. Its like buying a car, you will need a minimum of 4 tires wheels, a steering wheel etc. rather comical that R9 is called a clone and i have no idea how to bind it to my crossfire.
I had a lot of Problems with the R-XSR. I think there was no problem with the connection because RSSI was very good but i think there is a problem betwenn the receiver and the fc. And because the failure was every 10 lipos it was to risky for me so i changed to r9m modull and r9mm receiver... With the Turnigyevolution i had never problems with rssi.
@@SchonRichtig im not sure you can call a receiver a clone, reverse engineered perhaps to be integrated into a flight controller but I think there are just as many non frsky branded d16 receivers as there are D8. I certainly get offered to check out just as many d16 as d8. Really I think this is them trying to move forward and push everyone to use a better protocol. like when your phone stops getting updates after a couple of years or when your f1 or f3 board is no longer supported by betaflight.

Hey Andy, as a beginner I bought into the Emax culture but disappointed with the reception/range of their stock transmitter. Would like to upgrade a bit with a better transmitter that is compatible with their D8/16 frequency and continue using their stock 'box' goggles. I see the original Frsky lite would be compatible but I don't like the fact that you can't charge the batteries on-board! I've got enough battery chargers in my life. This pro-version seems good however, I see they have a totally new 'access' system. (although they list some sort of D8 adapter). Have you any suggestion of a beginner budget transmitter that would be compatible with the Emax TH2/TH2Race/TH Freestyle?? Thanks man...always learn a lot from your channel!

Hi Andy, I just received my xlite pro, was having a gimbal issue on my xlite so figured I'd get a new something. Went the Crossfire route to switch from r9m system. Seems like it's going to not work out? Seems like there is a bunch of head ache I'm going to have to wade through forums to figure out with this Tx. Sound about right or will it get ironed out soon?
I've had literally no issue with the length of the switches of the original. I have been far more then happy with the xlite and am happy with all the xm and xsr receivers..

Waited on this preorder to get into the hobby. only to find out it is useless. I have a $200 paperweight and a regular x lite on order :/ FRSKY replied to my email and said they will have the firmware "by the end of the month." NOT SOON ENOUGH!
Great overview! A new protocol is sure to bring some pain for awhile but hopefully it’s for the best. Also it looks like the stick shafts are thicker than on the regular X-Lite. Is it 3mm or 4mm now? Maybe you mentioned it and I missed it. This would make it easier to use different stick ends.
Thank you for being the first to offer an objective and thorough introduction of this product. When the kinks have worked out, it offers over-the-air FW update and binding. These alone are significant improvements. Signal analyzer and strength indicator are informational and as yet do not improve the functionality of the tx. Next improvement: reliable RSSI. A bit late with my observations, but x-lite pro with its aluminum gimbals is much better than tango 2..and it is cheaper. When the gimbals are hall effect, the only thing that is wearing in time is the mechanism and springs. Plastic gimbals start to go off center when they wear out..
The Standard X-lite has hall sensor gimbles just not the 'cnc metal' ones. Much of the upgrades seem to be quality of life stuff on it, its nice but not worth having to change the firmware in every one of my RX's.

I have the XLite S, ( but with the R9 module) total newbie, thank you so much for this, it’s still pretty confusing for me. But you’re helping a lot! A full radio setup for total beginners down to the binding and button assign phase would be great! Also I thought one would assign functions to switches in BetaFlight?

I wonder how many of the haters of this potential upgrade will change their tune when they actually use it and realise this is the future for our hobby. People have complained for years the binding and update process of the old protocols so they try to improve it and people are mad? Yes change is sometimes difficult but necessary to move forward. We need to stop the spread of this internal nonsense drama between competitors but we live in a world where people crave it so perhaps I'm wired differently. If I found out bp did some dirty stuff against Esso I couldn't care less if my tanks empty. So frsky starts to work on improving the binding and over air updates, and armchair critics with a letter and no product in their hand know all the answers some how. Frsky have made mistakes releasing things too early. It needs to polished and backwards compatible before release. This is their mistake. The letters thing I'm against but tbs did the same and no one seems to take issue with that? crossfire is amazing but to spit your dummy out when you make a module that fits the frsky bay perfectly but costs more than the transmitter itself? Come up with a competitor to the x9d? the tango is not it. If frsky were so cruel to block TBS why dont they put the inferior component in brand new versions of the x9d? Just looks like they are trying to move forwards to me and do what they have always done which is undercut the competition at a fraction of the price with their r9 system (which is also not ready and is a mistake to release until it is). And If opentx is to remain open then jumper has access (pardon the pun) to the access protocol also. So all these comments about encryption it's all speculation in my eyes. How about we see what happens rather than the guesses becoming fact? I don't take a side. I'd be happy for jumper, frsky and tbs to prevail but until things progress everything is speculation and not fact. Cheers for the update.
I';ve gotthe original X-lite, works well, fits my hands as a smaller TX. Good enough for my "back-up" TX in my backpack. My X9D is my "go-to" TX, flawless!. No need for this new protocol crap, D16/XM+ and I'm a happy guy. If I want "long-range" quality footage, I'll stick with DJI, Thanks Andy, love your thoroughness and style for sure. Jeff
Would be cool if those new gimbal could be installed in my og xlite then there really would be no point in even considering it the gimbals are the only downfall for me on the xlite too much play in the center. Them new ones look way better quality. Think il just wait for replacement parts to be available and do a mod on the og with new gimbals and internal cf
hmm so what would be the best option to upgrade from Flysky, i'm really interested in 900mhz instead of 2.4ghz. What Frsky TX should i buy, i dont really know if noise detection is usefull also. So the Normal X-lite is better or something? The QX7 looks good also but that only support XJT and not 900mhz?
Hi there got the x lite pro too I did upgrade my radio and the receiver I did bind with access protocol and it bind but betaflight won't recognize the radio do someone got a idea ? Ps I'm new with frsky I flew about 2 years with flysky and just switched to frsky
I switched out to a xlite last year sometime and ever since ive been struggling to get to my A game again. It's very little in the hands and theres not much to hold onto when shit gets real/
I know you and others use the 8 channel option for better latency but what if you want turtle mode and rate mode on a switch in addition, is there a way to add those too without going to 16 channels?

Andy I use Wii Nunchuck controllers for robot control. I've also used one to control a helicopter. It's likely possible to become proficient at controlling a quad or a helicopter with a Nunchuck, but I found control using the Nunchuck more difficult than using a normal joysticks. My land based robots are slow enough I don't mind using a Wii Nunchuck. Search my channel for *HalloweenHexEyeUpdate150131* to see my Wii Nunchuck controlled hexapod. I flew the helicopter with a Wii Nunchuck before I was in the habit of documenting my projects on RUclips. I used the transmitter module from a small Blade transmitter and sent it PPM signals from a microcontroller. This sort of thing would be even easier now. Edit: I should point out I used the Nunchuck's accelerometer for throttle and yaw control when I used it with a helicopter. Pointing the Nunchuck up would increase the throttle and pointing it down would decrease the throttle. Tilting the Nunchuck side to side would cause the helicopter to yaw. There are likely better ways to incorporate accelerometers into control strategy than the way I did it.
I was so excited about this remote, I loved the X-Lite and do not really understand FrsKy's logic with this here. It does not even make sense from a marketing standpoint imo
Well balanced review without hysteria, which unfortunately seems all too common about the ACCESS protocol. Fancy quad people not being able to cope with a TX change as the rest of the hobby is always on a roller-coaster of change with FC's, camera's, frames, esc's, motors etc.
Andy thanks for a great vid! I have a question off this topic but I do have an x lite controller.. basically my drone keeps pitching forward hard in stability mode.. I have reset everything all gyro, recalibrated controller the lot.. but as soon as I take off it’s like someone else is controlling the drone and pitching forward hard! Even if I trim the pitch back so it takes off perfectly as soon as I touch the pitch and release it, it totally changes again ... I’m absolutley baffled, any ideas what my problem is? Thanks bro
AndyRC yes it’s soft mounted mate it’s the gep rc cygnet 2 Ive has it a while but it’s just started doing it after switching in to stability mode whilst flying in acro, it literally pitched forward loads after switching mid flight and has never been the same since I’ll strip it and put it back together to see if it improves?
@@TheWestysworld strange mine doesnt do that but its the three inch not the 2 inch. try replacing the cap. geprc caps arnt very good iv found. but more often than not drift is caused by vibrations for me
AndyRC thanks mate! What capacitor would you recommend? Do you find that you get the wavey lines across the dvr screen when you power up with no prop movement?
@@TheWestysworld yeah you always get a little of that with the all in one hd cameras but make sure that you have got ntsc selected in betaflight as well as in the camera otherwise you will get shimmers from that. or same if using pal. (use NTSC though as you get lower latency) Here in europe i only buy panasonic CE fm series low esr caps, but rubycon seems to be a more accessible make in the usa and are good quality.
Andy your point about the source of the alleged emails is well made, to an extent. I say to extent because, if these rumours were indeed not true I can't imagine FrSky, a significant company with economic means, sitting back in deathly silence. I can also see that it might be difficult for a retailer to go "full disclosure" on this for fear of reprisal - especially if the threat is accurate. There's an old saying, "If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck......it's probably a duck". It's only my view but I think I am looking at a duck! Having worked in Asia this type of practice is totally unsurprising for me personally - it's just how a lot of business is done in Asia and to that extent is somewhat normal. That said, we don't have to like it and are free to vote with our feet !
God I love the taranis with crossfire... two receivers in one. But well... if FRSky goes bonkers... they shall lose me. Though idk where to go.. Spektrum is a nogo, Jumper isn't dual receiver, the Nirvana isn't supported with FrSky software... It'll be the tango 2 then - from the guys who actually care for the hobby.
Regarding bringing out a new protocol, remember Walkera did that and it led to the multi-protocol revolution. I query whether Mode 2 is really more popular, most people don't have a choice.
Check the comments on kabab's video. The quotes are taken from an RC forum. Just google "not a code jockey or a hardware designer", with the quote marks, and you'll find it straight away
considering those are quotes taken from a forum and not an email to a company. Are you stating that the letters are false? I mean its been all over forums that openTX devs arnt happy about jumper that is true. But does it prove the source of a letter to a company or just a team bias towards frsky as they are receiving funds or a kickback? They dont seem too bothered about the ones running deviation TX eh? ;)

good review and a careful one given how frsky burn anyone who isnt extremely nice to them. i wouldnt move over as I want only 1 tx and many of my planes use d8 protocol (frsky charges spektrum prices for them). I suspect that frsky want encryption etc for a couple of reasons. 1) the id would probably be transmitted - so authorities and snoop and identify. 2) to secure the link for commercial/military purposes. multiple fail safe options.
Great detailed review Andy, good to see you didn't jump on the "Hate FrSky bandwagon"...they will have to learn to live with the Jumper Im afraid, they dont own Open TX....So, to confirm, its FrSky intention to provide firmware upgrades to change both TX Modules and also RXs with their new ACCESS protocol?...except the very old D8..?...Did I understand that correctly..? Before long, I can run the ACCESS protocol on my X9D Taranis? I think that little dog had a heart attack....lol.
It turns out that the d8 protocol is not legal in europe so they are removing it as an internal function and then you will have to use an external module if you want to use D8. I guess they are so large now they need to cover things like this. Yes ACCESS will be available for all frsky transmitters its not a hardware change its software with the idea being once the issues are ironed out that it will be superior to the current D16 and the old d8
Oh thanks for confirming that, because Im pretty sure a lot of people have assumed FrSky have no intention of providing backward ACCESS PROTOCOL Firmware for our existing RXs and TX Modules which is incorrect of them to assume as such....:)....Good news indeed.

It's refreshing to see someone not immediately jumping into the frsky-hate-train just because of some alleged emails. But if it was really true, then yes, it's utterly disappointing, specially because I love my qx7. Hopefully everything gets settled because this hobby does not need drama, it needs healthy competition.

I had to rip them out of a multi cell pack as they are the ones I had with a flat top. You are correct if the positive is shorted with the negative casing it will short.

@@jas-FPV the encryption is for the same reason Nikon encrypted every photo taken with their cameras. Under laws brought in to stop DVD copying it is illegal to reverse engineer something that uses encryption. It does matter if it's simple encryption just used to stop other companies from supporting your protocols the law doesn't care. . The only reason we can still view pictures take with Nikon cameras with I own choice of software is because Adobe refused to pay Nikon for the privilege of being able to work with Nikon photos and said they would not support them. That lead to Nikon giving in. A bunch of companies do it. A Tractor maker uses encryption so that only they can fix their tractors when they brake. The problem with the tractor could be simple but unless the company allows you to get around their encryption then it's tuff luck.
You have to look at who benefits from the letter and that usually will point out your source. FRsky doesn't want to put their name on the letter because what they are doing is shady business practice and want to give themselves a easy out when confronted about the letter saying "We didn't write that e-mail cause are name isn't on it" 😆
well the only source iv been given points to a post on RC groups by an open TX dev. If it was a proper letter or email to dealers someone would be able to provide an address / username or email address to which no one can provide. Therefore until that is given Its speculation not fact and potentially someone just trying to stir things up. Why arnt frsky asking for the deviationtx versions to be taken off the stores if its legit coming from frsky and not openTX? surely thats also a threat? same case, same button lay out. even supports crossfire with some fiddling.
From what my local hobby shop told me - its not so much the OpenTX bit that FrSky are allegedly annoyed about - its the internals or schematics of the QX7 being copied. But as you say , they all use dodgy business practices , so its karma in most cases.

not interested in a new protocol... think I'll just see if Jumper comes out with a game style trans or just stick to what I have. You know Coke tried something new with their formula once and called it new coke... shortly after that disaster they went back to coke... me thinks the same with happen here.

@andyrc, D16, R9m lite and crossfire are working on Nightly build N10 firmware, no need to update to access for D16 rxs.
Frsky advise not to fly on nightly builds so personally id wait for an official release

OpenTX dropped a nightly 2.3 build allowing mpm just yesterday.
Another commenter mentioned this. However opentx advise that you do not fly on a nightly build

The gimbal end are 3mm .5 pitch, the stick ends are m2.5
you could add some tennis racket handle fluff on the 'warn' areas

Thank you for being the first to offer an objective and thorough introduction of this product. When the kinks have worked out, it offers over-the-air FW update and binding. These alone are significant improvements. Signal analyzer and strength indicator are informational and as yet do not improve the functionality of the tx. Next improvement: reliable RSSI. A bit late with my observations, but x-lite pro with its aluminum gimbals is much better than tango 2..and it is cheaper. When the gimbals are hall effect, the only thing that is wearing in time is the mechanism and springs. Plastic gimbals start to go off center when they wear out..
The Standard X-lite has hall sensor gimbles just not the 'cnc metal' ones. Much of the upgrades seem to be quality of life stuff on it, its nice but not worth having to change the firmware in every one of my RX's.

I believe only the first batch of X-Lites had the Philips screws. They switched to hex screws after a while.
Opentx now has a nightly build that will let u use your existing mpm external module so you can fly your whoops and anything else with it

I have good news. They just released the XM firmware. Hopefully they will release the XM Plus next.
I wonder how many of the haters of this potential upgrade will change their tune when they actually use it and realise this is the future for our hobby. People have complained for years the binding and update process of the old protocols so they try to improve it and people are mad? Yes change is sometimes difficult but necessary to move forward. We need to stop the spread of this internal nonsense drama between competitors but we live in a world where people crave it so perhaps I'm wired differently. If I found out bp did some dirty stuff against Esso I couldn't care less if my tanks empty. So frsky starts to work on improving the binding and over air updates, and armchair critics with a letter and no product in their hand know all the answers some how. Frsky have made mistakes releasing things too early. It needs to polished and backwards compatible before release. This is their mistake. The letters thing I'm against but tbs did the same and no one seems to take issue with that? crossfire is amazing but to spit your dummy out when you make a module that fits the frsky bay perfectly but costs more than the transmitter itself? Come up with a competitor to the x9d? the tango is not it. If frsky were so cruel to block TBS why dont they put the inferior component in brand new versions of the x9d? Just looks like they are trying to move forwards to me and do what they have always done which is undercut the competition at a fraction of the price with their r9 system (which is also not ready and is a mistake to release until it is). And If opentx is to remain open then jumper has access (pardon the pun) to the access protocol also. So all these comments about encryption it's all speculation in my eyes. How about we see what happens rather than the guesses becoming fact? I don't take a side. I'd be happy for jumper, frsky and tbs to prevail but until things progress everything is speculation and not fact. Cheers for the update.
I';ve gotthe original X-lite, works well, fits my hands as a smaller TX. Good enough for my "back-up" TX in my backpack. My X9D is my "go-to" TX, flawless!. No need for this new protocol crap, D16/XM+ and I'm a happy guy. If I want "long-range" quality footage, I'll stick with DJI, Thanks Andy, love your thoroughness and style for sure. Jeff

I had to have it plugged in to a flight battery but it showed up fine after upgrading fw.
Would be cool if those new gimbal could be installed in my og xlite then there really would be no point in even considering it the gimbals are the only downfall for me on the xlite too much play in the center. Them new ones look way better quality. Think il just wait for replacement parts to be available and do a mod on the og with new gimbals and internal cf

A 18650 cell that has a button won't fit into the X-lite! ...so I have to wait for 18500 cells.

Odd when I go to find my telemetry info, the only things to display are the RSSI and the selection below but nothing else.
Really hoping this will eventually do d8 mode as I use a lot of those recievers.
Otherwise it's nice upgrades, hefty price though..
you will have to get a module for d8 when the module part eventually works. Hopefully they will support a multimodule for it

I know you and others use the 8 channel option for better latency but what if you want turtle mode and rate mode on a switch in addition, is there a way to add those too without going to 16 channels?
You use the same channels and then just use different switch positions for that mode. So a three post switch can have three different functions

No it's not compatible with any current frsky transmitter. However you could get ab external module for d8. Or get a jumper or radiomaster radio

Andy I use Wii Nunchuck controllers for robot control. I've also used one to control a helicopter.
It's likely possible to become proficient at controlling a quad or a helicopter with a Nunchuck, but I found control using the Nunchuck more difficult than using a normal joysticks.
My land based robots are slow enough I don't mind using a Wii Nunchuck.

I flew the helicopter with a Wii Nunchuck before I was in the habit of documenting my projects on RUclips. I used the transmitter module from a small Blade transmitter and sent it PPM signals from a microcontroller. This sort of thing would be even easier now.
Edit: I should point out I used the Nunchuck's accelerometer for throttle and yaw control when I used it with a helicopter. Pointing the Nunchuck up would increase the throttle and pointing it down would decrease the throttle. Tilting the Nunchuck side to side would cause the helicopter to yaw. There are likely better ways to incorporate accelerometers into control strategy than the way I did it.

If the code remains open source then anyone has access to the access protocol. This is another made up story people have turned into fact.
I was so excited about this remote, I loved the X-Lite and do not really understand FrsKy's logic with this here. It does not even make sense from a marketing standpoint imo
Well balanced review without hysteria, which unfortunately seems all too common about the ACCESS protocol. Fancy quad people not being able to cope with a TX change as the rest of the hobby is always on a roller-coaster of change with FC's, camera's, frames, esc's, motors etc.

basically my drone keeps pitching forward hard in stability mode.. I have reset everything all gyro, recalibrated controller the lot.. but as soon as I take off it’s like someone else is controlling the drone and pitching forward hard!
Even if I trim the pitch back so it takes off perfectly as soon as I touch the pitch and release it, it totally changes again ... I’m absolutley baffled, any ideas what my problem is? Thanks bro
that will either be electrical noise reaching the gyro but more commonly vibrations. Have you got the flight controller soft mounted?

Ive has it a while but it’s just started doing it after switching in to stability mode whilst flying in acro, it literally pitched forward loads after switching mid flight and has never been the same since
I’ll strip it and put it back together to see if it improves?
@@TheWestysworld strange mine doesnt do that but its the three inch not the 2 inch. try replacing the cap. geprc caps arnt very good iv found. but more often than not drift is caused by vibrations for me

@@TheWestysworld yeah you always get a little of that with the all in one hd cameras but make sure that you have got ntsc selected in betaflight as well as in the camera otherwise you will get shimmers from that. or same if using pal. (use NTSC though as you get lower latency) Here in europe i only buy panasonic CE fm series low esr caps, but rubycon seems to be a more accessible make in the usa and are good quality.
Andy your point about the source of the alleged emails is well made, to an extent. I say to extent because, if these rumours were indeed not true I can't imagine FrSky, a significant company with economic means, sitting back in deathly silence. I can also see that it might be difficult for a retailer to go "full disclosure" on this for fear of reprisal - especially if the threat is accurate. There's an old saying, "If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck......it's probably a duck". It's only my view but I think I am looking at a duck! Having worked in Asia this type of practice is totally unsurprising for me personally - it's just how a lot of business is done in Asia and to that extent is somewhat normal. That said, we don't have to like it and are free to vote with our feet !

God I love the taranis with crossfire... two receivers in one. But well... if FRSky goes bonkers... they shall lose me. Though idk where to go.. Spektrum is a nogo, Jumper isn't dual receiver, the Nirvana isn't supported with FrSky software... It'll be the tango 2 then - from the guys who actually care for the hobby.
Can't wait for Jumper to release a gamepad style multi-protocol radio! :-P

This was the biggest dissapointment this year. Mine is in the Basement waiting for better days. I feel my xlite is more pro than this.
Regarding bringing out a new protocol, remember Walkera did that and it led to the multi-protocol revolution. I query whether Mode 2 is really more popular, most people don't have a choice.

I mean its been all over forums that openTX devs arnt happy about jumper that is true. But does it prove the source of a letter to a company or just a team bias towards frsky as they are receiving funds or a kickback? They dont seem too bothered about the ones running deviation TX eh? ;)

i wouldnt move over as I want only 1 tx and many of my planes use d8 protocol (frsky charges spektrum prices for them).
I suspect that frsky want encryption etc for a couple of reasons.
1) the id would probably be transmitted - so authorities and snoop and identify.
2) to secure the link for commercial/military purposes. multiple fail safe options.

It turns out that the d8 protocol is not legal in europe so they are removing it as an internal function and then you will have to use an external module if you want to use D8. I guess they are so large now they need to cover things like this. Yes ACCESS will be available for all frsky transmitters its not a hardware change its software with the idea being once the issues are ironed out that it will be superior to the current D16 and the old d8
Oh thanks for confirming that, because Im pretty sure a lot of people have assumed FrSky have no intention of providing backward ACCESS PROTOCOL Firmware for our existing RXs and TX Modules which is incorrect of them to assume as such....:)....Good news indeed.

It's refreshing to see someone not immediately jumping into the frsky-hate-train just because of some alleged emails. But if it was really true, then yes, it's utterly disappointing, specially because I love my qx7. Hopefully everything gets settled because this hobby does not need drama, it needs healthy competition.
dont forget frsky downgraded components in qx7 to impact crossfire. whether they sent the email or not, they have history in being corporate bullies.

I had to rip them out of a multi cell pack as they are the ones I had with a flat top. You are correct if the positive is shorted with the negative casing it will short.

@@jas-FPV the encryption is for the same reason Nikon encrypted every photo taken with their cameras.
Under laws brought in to stop DVD copying it is illegal to reverse engineer something that uses encryption.
It does matter if it's simple encryption just used to stop other companies from supporting your protocols the law doesn't care. .
The only reason we can still view pictures take with Nikon cameras with I own choice of software is because Adobe refused to pay Nikon for the privilege of being able to work with Nikon photos and said they would not support them.
That lead to Nikon giving in.

A Tractor maker uses encryption so that only they can fix their tractors when they brake.
The problem with the tractor could be simple but unless the company allows you to get around their encryption then it's tuff luck.

You have to look at who benefits from the letter and that usually will point out your source. FRsky doesn't want to put their name on the letter because what they are doing is shady business practice and want to give themselves a easy out when confronted about the letter saying "We didn't write that e-mail cause are name isn't on it" 😆
well the only source iv been given points to a post on RC groups by an open TX dev. If it was a proper letter or email to dealers someone would be able to provide an address / username or email address to which no one can provide. Therefore until that is given Its speculation not fact and potentially someone just trying to stir things up. Why arnt frsky asking for the deviationtx versions to be taken off the stores if its legit coming from frsky and not openTX? surely thats also a threat? same case, same button lay out. even supports crossfire with some fiddling.
From what my local hobby shop told me - its not so much the OpenTX bit that FrSky are allegedly annoyed about - its the internals or schematics of the QX7 being copied. But as you say , they all use dodgy business practices , so its karma in most cases.
