I used the Lyman for about 2.5 years and loved it , 600-800 rounds a month , never had an issue , great piece of gear for its price . I am now using the Giraud trimmer which is amazing but at its cost ...

mine lasted about 1500 rounds before the bushing surface that hold the bit and rides inside the threaded portion wore out and i started getting jagged horrible cuts on my cases, once the bearing surface wears too much you start get a horrible chatter.. i had to machine the rotating portion that holds the bit with a groove to hold an oring that acts as the bearing to center the cutter while im cutting. now i get silky smooth quiet cuts.. its not a bad design but there a couple things they should have done. , i also had to add a thrust bearing behind the collet that holds the cutter to avoid the pressure being put into the shaft and the gearbox. the only problem is the oring wears out but i get about 3000 cases before it wears out the oring and i start getting jagged cuts.. with a viton oring instead of bune i get about 4500..the design is a little bit lacking.... if there was a sealed bearing thats the shaft rides on inside the threaded portion and a thrust bearing this would be a winner.. the micrometer adjustment is on the money and a very nice touch.and the amount of bushings is great. i would have not problem paing a little more for a thrust bearing and shaft support of some kind, i know thats not an easy one because the bearing has to slide as well as turn. in their defense im not sure they designed or priced it to do thousands and thousands of cases. still i like it, but man my thumb and index finger are killing me , nice vid
