I had the rare fortune of spending a few days with Bill, through a mutual friend, in boca raton, in the early 90's. I believe he is the greatest all around card magician/entertainer living, the late great "father", of card magic, Ed Marlo excluded. Watching him perform live, is unbelievable, even with my knowledge of slight of hand. He excells at performing, entertaining, and the utilization of countless sleight of hand maneuvers that go without notice during a performance. Hes likeable too.
It is Bill's patter and presentation with some gags that really sells him. Sometimes when I am resetting card tricks to do a simple AC routine people do not normally notice that you are setting up the deck by using card control techniques. He's has simply just taken the stack and mixed a fantastic presentation to it - he's so funny! Between his patter you can constantly see him false-shuffle the cards.
@yeshevishman not only that, he actually used it on purpose for ppl to see and then after 'discussion' gave them to cut the pile. so all part of the act...
I can never tire of watching this sort of stuff. Bill Malone carries it off effortlessly - it's just a shame that the crowd was so lifeless and unresponsive, almost retarded you might say
hey im a magician but i cant seem to figure out how you can cut the deck and have them put it back with no break and be able to un cut it like that. if anyone knows please message me im trying to make my sam the bellhop a little bit better
Why does the empty playing card box right next to the black mat (towards Bill's left) keep disappearing and reappearing? Surely Bill didn't have to do this in multiple takes??
Notice how the playing card box to the left of the mat keeps disappearing and reapering? So this was not one take? Sure he could and did do it in one take just wondering why it happens? Who knows

Bill Malone was a genius at magic. He took even simple tricks, made them fun and interactive, and he definitely was a whiz at handling cards

I prefer a slow style like Tommy Wonder's over Mallone's carnival side-show style. But Mallone is just king when it comes to control, no doubt.
