  • Many horse lovers believe the connection they’re looking for is right around the corner- with more training or the “right” method. Potentially great relationships fail to thrive when we don't see the difference between obedience and two-way communication. Horse Speak serves as your expert translation guide to the horse's vocabulary so that you can create true conversation.
Cracking The Horse Speak Code lets you see it in action.
Episode 2 Title: Communication with an out-of-control horse

You should change the video title to include "communication with an out of control horse", it'll get lots more attention and be more easily found by people trying to solve that problem. You have lots of valuable information here!

Sharon, these are awesome. It makes so much more sense to see it in motion, and the way you two stop and discuss what's going on really helps. Thank you.

This is just awesome. I really wouldnt have the courage to step into the area with this three running horses. Fantastic to see, that it was possible to calm this Situation AND to find out that the black one was injured. What a gift for the horses!

Thank you so much for making these episodes of Horse Speak. I just found out about HS at my local Horse Expo in Oregon. Half way through the book and really happy that I stumbled onto you two. Can’t wait to be part of a clinic this summer.

I love you Sharon! Love the way you speak! Very soothing for me nevermind horses! Where do you have this DVD? Is it online as I don't have a DVD player. This is such amazing info and as a new horse parent I really love this info to begin a great relationship with my horse.

Dr. Sue Dyson, an equine veterinarian from England, did a study on the relationship between facial expressions and lameness. She couldn't diagnose the specific lameness from facial expression, but she definitely established a connection between the two. She still has some videos up on UTube.
BTW, I just ordered a copy of the second book, Essential Horse Speak from B&N; looking forward to reading it carefully! 👍

Thank you for the information about the study. As our research continues, we have found that horses' facial expressions are somewhat related to humans because if we feel bad, we can see it on our faces. The other person may not know what the issue is, but it can be read by the facial expression. Similarly, if horses are physically or emotionally uncomfortable, some markers can help us interpret their state.

Is there the used original footage without commentary, just the video and audio, somewhere? I'd love to see that in one go.

My horse does something a bit like the blaze horse in the video. It happens every time I go out to catch them for feeding. He is always the last to be caught.

I understand that the blaze horse wanted to leave. So was his behavior rooted in wanting to take his herd with him?
