It's okay if you don't like the show; I'm fine with that. But let's all try to be kind and respectful to each other. Ponies have inspired many people around the world, who are probably grown adults now. So, I just want to say, I'm proud of you all.
When I first heard about New Generation was going to be a new cast of ponies, I was sad to see the group of ponies that I love were no longer going to be seen. But that changed when I heard that G5 was still the same world of G4 but in the future, and the new Mane 6 are reincarnation of the previous Mane 6. I love G5 cause of how the 3D makes the ponies look cute, amazing, and creative it looks. Yeah, Hasbro says there will be no more Make Your Mark seasons which some say no more 3D ponies. But I highly doubt that. In fact, we got a new My Little Pony video game which again is 3D and continues to make me wonder… will there be a sequel movie of My Little Pony A New Generation with the movie cast? I’m saying there is a possibility, and I would not want to think that it wouldn’t happen.
I totally agree with you there are so many of these darn g4 purists out here just bashing this show too bits and it pisses me the hell off. Like people have no respect for each others opinions anymore and just go of the fucking rocker. 🤦♀️

I just started watching it (currently on chapter 2) and I personally just don't enjoy it that much...but it's mostly because of certain stuff like how it ruined the G4 timeline, Sparky being the cause of most problems, etc. Also the animation style reminds me of SFM for some reason.
It's so ironic that the questions that you framed G4 fans asking G5 fans were the same EXACT questions that people asked bronies back in the early days of the fandom. It's like they've forgotten everything. No one should ever be shamed for liking what they like. Period.

Bronies who send death threats to people because they watch a show that the dislike are not Bronies, nor have they actually watched the show. G5 may not be the best (imo), but it's not something to threaten death to someone. MLP was supposed to be about inclusion, to be friends with people, no matter what they enjoy. G4 and G5 are both good for friendship and helped build people up to who they are today.
Which is a reason why i love them both (G3 included) g5 may not be perfect and up to par with g4 (imo) but it definitely has an element that makes me enjoy it much. The characters.

As a fan of both G3, G4 (FiM) and G5, I completely agree with you. Like I said before, everyone has their own taste on what they like, and there’s no need for violence to get us all emotional too. Never stop loving something that makes you happy, because if it’s something that you like, that’s OK.

On the Chinese side the G5 community is very small, much smaller than the G4 community (which is getting smaller). Sometimes they fight and there are sometimes videos about why G5 sucks. I'm not going to translate those. I guess the reason I'm in the G4 community is just that I am homesick for Equestria. I used to wonder whether I'm male or female, but I realized I'm actually a pony. Sounds silly, but that's what seems right to me. I hope to one day become the pony I'm meant to be, perhaps in virtual reality.. Also, about the feeling of comfort, I will forever remember that one Sunday afternoon, raining, when I watched Applebuck Season and some PMVs. It was peak comfort. (Where did it go?)

I respect that. Honestly, it’s the same war over and over again. G1 vs G2. G4 vs G3. G4 vs G5. We need more self-awareness in the fandom. Fewer death threats, fewer blanket statements about how the other side is objectively wrong and dumb and childish. Grow up, people.
G5 has no joke become my main source of pony entertainment as of late, one that has given me more enjoyment than G4 ever has in a long time. And I would honestly much prefer to see people be much MUCH more civil when it comes to their dislike for it, and would like to see more people just appreciating it for what it is. And the lack of the latter gets me sometimes because people need to apply that to G4, but oftentimes never really have. It's all just confusing and very goofy asf to me. This is legitimately a cartoon pony franchise made with kids first thing in mind, but well made enough to where even grown adults can have a great time with it. There's legitimately no point in acting this way.

I passionately watched G4 in 2017 when I became a brony and I still enjoy it looking back on the brilliance it provided, no matter if I currently wholeheartedly prefer G5 because it's been the generation I found the most comfort in from its simplicity and amazing characters that gave me hope and a feeling of charity in my life. Hell, when I discovered G1 and G3 most recently, they won me over more than both of those generations because it's something different and fantastic to indulge in, just like what happened when I first watched G4 and G5. I strongly appreciate and love every single generation of My Little Pony because there is something unique and special for anybody and at the end of the day, we are all dumb ponies who have their own passions and likenesses in the franchise. There should NEVER be any rational or moral reason to wish harm on anyone because of a small opinion. It's terribly disrespectful for everyone else. Hoof to heart! When we make our mark, we all prove that friendship is magic, no matter your age or prefered generation. We are all in this community together! 💚⭐

I could literally sit here forever dissecting every. Single. Thing. I absolutely loved about this video, but I'm only going to do two. Firstly, "I'm confused because I thought everyone learned about friendship" That hit me like a truck. Kinda redefined the point of MLP in the first place...to learn about friendship no matter your age. And second, I cannot tell you how INCREDIBLE your use of visuals were in this video as a WHOLE, but specifically that one scene when you were talking about the way they looked AND YOU SHOWED THE OG PONIES, WHAT AN IMPACT! This is genuinely one of my favorite videos I've seen on the Internet in a bit, genuinely. I'm so sorry this happened to you, I cannot consider myself as big of a fan of G5 as I was/am with G4, but I can relate to that feeling of simple happiness and Comfort from watching a simple...cute show. I suppose comparing and expecting G5 to live up to G4 was asking for WAY too much in the grand scheme of things....G4 and the Wave of it was a beautiful accident that I don't think anyone was ever expecting. G5 was unfairly expected to do the same...When maybe it was never supposed to, at least in the same way. G3 fans are different from G4 fans, I personally grew up with G3 and transitioning to G4 wasn't easy until I genuinely gave it a shot and found out I loved it. G5 fans to G4 I never considered...are probably the same in the sense of them just simply growing up with a different Gen of Pone.

I used to hate the g5 one, It wasn't really on the new characters, but the change of art style, I love lauren faust design of them, so that's why I hated it for a lil, but then I found the g5 stuff toys in the mall, I was kinda excited! So I ended up buying two(Sunny and Izzy) because of I love MLP so much, the show also give me comfort, after watching this right now. I don't hate it anymore, because why would I? I feel so immature and that thinking, everything should be the same way, but I was wrong.. thank you for sharing your feelings, it made me feel kinda badm and yes, I guess I don't know what friendship is because I have no friends... 🥲

Even if I’m someone that didn’t grow up with mlp and I got interested in it quite late in G4’s life span, and my thoughts on G5 can be a bit iffy as of late, I still absolutely agree that no one should be hated on for simply enjoying something that makes them happy. Damn.. This resonates with me so much. I’ve been a big fan of G5 from the start, I also just find it comforting. It’s nice. I actually made a discord server that has fans of the gen and other gens too just supporting each other. It’s sad to have a lot of them are struggling with hate in the fandom but I’m glad we’re not alone! Aside from that I’ve always had a difficult relationship with my interests, as they’ve always been a little odd and childish. With normal people I can’t talk about it much, but it’s much more sad to not be able to be excited your interests with people who have ones similar to yours. Thank you for personally putting your take on things, this feels very genuine and im sure we all can appreciate your efforts in doing so as I do right now. Ive been in this for almost 12 to 13 years now and its never really left me, I just like watching pony cartoons, they make me happy even G5, I feel the writing is different yes and at times you just roll your eyes but in the end it really never actually lost its touch, i hope everypony can see this and take off the shaded lenses of being over nostalgic. Preface: Attacking people for their opinion is bad. That said, as for g5: To each their own, but the one thing I will never forgive is that setting. They really went and killed everyone offscreen as the foundation for this. The way to make me like something is not by killing and destroying what I love and building the new stuff on the graves and ruins. "Hey we killed all your favorites! Just take these new chars to replace them, you're welcome." I genuinely don't understand how anyone who loved g4 can like that. It's a real shame, had they just used a new universe instead of destroying the old one, it could have been okay probably.

Honestly, I for one like both G4 and G5 equally. I mean yeah G5 will never be as good as G4 but G4 had it's share of flaws too you know after all no cartoon is truly perfect. And the people who have been causing all of this nonsensical drama over hating G5 are just jerks who have nothing better to do with their time. Man this is so beautiful…I didn't take the chance to really watch the FIM show ehennit was still on air when I was a kid. But then I discovered G5 last year and I fell in love with it and the characters. I then wanted to learn about the show before it but I was unable to access the show on my own so I turned to the fans to learn about it from them. And I see why so many loved it and still do. But I do see hate that is present and I understand but it's suffocating at times. I really like your message as I feel like it's something that can be shared not just with MLP but with all sorts of other fandoms that are facing the same thing. I find myself taking breaks from the internet more often than not because the negativity in the community can get pretty overwhelming, I've had my fair share of unwarranted hate thrown my way and It's kinda scary for me to dive into interactions, even though I really want to engage more with the fandom But hey, at the end of the day, I'm just into these adorable, goofy ponies and their stories to chill out for a bit, why's it gotta be so hard to just enjoy a show? 🐴✨
The world is boring, stressful, full of pain, and difficult to navigate at times. You have to be strong and mature to make it through, but at the same time, it's okay to want to escape from it. People have mixed opinions about escapism, but as far as I'm concerned, to destress by enveloping yourself in a colorful world full of cute ponies and magic where the ultimate power is friendship is not a bad thing to do. Like everyone is saying, MLP:FIM and even G5 both gave me small bits of happiness and laughter that broke me away from the struggles of life. I'm doing better now, but I still look fondly to MLP for the good it brought to the world.

Coming from someone who doesn’t like G5, I respect your opinion. I feel like most people on the negative side towards G5 can agree that we weren’t really mad at it, just disappointed. Because the thing is, when you connect a new series to a previous one that meant so much to people, only to tear it down for the sake of it, it hurts. G5 should’ve done one thing to save the negative criticism, and that is just making it separate from G4. That way, we could’ve just appreciated it for what it was. Aside from the movie, I just couldn’t enjoy G5 for trying to be more than it was. I hope I was able to get my perspective across well. I definitely agree that death threats and bullying shouldn’t be tolerated in this community over differing opinions. Those kinda people need to rewatch Honest Apple from G4 for the moral.

It kinda is hard for me to dislike ponies, no matter the generation. Generation 5 may be a mixed bag, but seeing other people get inspired by it and have a fun time with friends does make it feel worth it. And this is coming from someone who saw G3 and G1 before G4 even came out.

People have completely forgotten what made Friendship is magic to begin with, Friendship itself. I'd say I'm more of a G4 fan personally, but I like G5, too. I watched the movie in the cinema (was shown in cinemas in my country) and it's pretty good. The music is lovely, and the character personalities and designs are all charming. I especially loved Izzy from the movie. Later on, series appeared, and while I don’t like some aspects of it, I keep watching MYM whenever new stuff comes out, and occasionally watch TYT as well. I've grown to like Misty a lot, the way she acts reminds me of myself actually. But let me tell you this - people like you keep the fandom alive, and it's thanks to people like you that G5 interests a lot of people. Because of all the G5 content, the hype is still there. I know a lot of people, including myself, prefer G4, but G5 isn't bad, too. Love the G5 mane 6 (literally working on an art with them XP) and how the fandom creates awesome content with them So yeah, it's not wrong to like them. They're cute and kids can still enjoy them. I hope to see more of G5 in the future, and more stuff from you!
Friendship is magic. I love how far the MLP fandom has come as a whole. And I hate to see hate being spread to and from the community, but with time we will all overcome it.
I won't deny that g5 could've been better and that it bit off more than it could chew, but what it did right was introducing a bunch of cute and rather relatable characters. Heck, one moment that really struck a cord for me was in chapter 4 with Misty, when she broke into the Brighthouse, going through the m5's photo album. She was angry about how fulfilled they were, having friends and a purpose, until she saw a picture of herself with them, seeing that they considered her one of their friends, making her stop and whimper. I've... been in that situation more times than I'd like to admit. I arrived to g4 at the very end and I was with g5 from its very beginning, so one could say it has a special place in my heart. That's at least my five cents >.>

I know that everyone really liked G4 and most of them hate G5. But... Even though G5 isn't like G4 that doesn't mean they can hate someone who loves G5 or nobody allowed to love them. I'm pretty sure that is not what G4 taught us. I proud of Sunny and her friends and we have to. I can asure that Twilight must be proud of her.
I don't like all the shows equally, or for the same reasons, but none of it fills me with hate. Maybe some of my enjoyment is a sort of schadenfreude, laughing at G3 and stuff like that, but I'd never hate someone who enjoyed it unironically. This topic reminds me of the episode, from FIM, where Twilight tries to share all the stories about Friendship with everypony. But what happens is that they don't pay attention to the main reason of the stories. They nit-pick parts of the story they think is relevant. G4 fans we're always intense, even with the show they're now say they loved (the G4). They had always something to complain such as the writing, the quality, the characters, the canon etc.
This honestly sums up my whole experience with this gen so far, and I relate too well. G5's writing has been all over the place, but I still find the characters adorable and would rank em all highly alongside their 4 counterparts. It's such an odd experience, but cute ponies just bring universal joy.

I personally never watched ponies growing up, I only had my first exposure to G4 as an adult in college. I was initially wary of the fandom as I heard things like it was full of degenerates from 4chan and they're otherwise just weird for liking it. But when I got to know some fans and they were all just having fun enjoying a cartoon they enjoyed, I slowly grew to appreciate it and soon quickly watched through the whole show which was at the time only two seasons. What stuck with me the most was life lessons on how to love and appreciate those close to you, lessons I had really wish I learned growing up. as the show went on and the fandom grew and grew in popularity, spawning so much fandom content and communities, I felt proud to be a part of it. the show and the community helped me explore myself and allowed me to express a more true part of myself. this is something I also hear for many fans young and old as well. I might not be as deeply involved with the fandom nowadays as I was in the past, but I've been enjoying G5, even with its flaws and weird release schedule. it's also been fun seeing those who were my age discovering or rediscovering ponies who still genuinely enjoy it today, especially despite potential backlash outside (and inside..) the community.
Maybe it’s just because I have the sniffles but I did certainly cry my eyes out at this :( I don’t dislike g5, though I don’t love it. I want to watch it properly again, to just enjoy and not look too deep into it. I’ve been getting back into the OLD mlp series, the ones I used to have toys from as a kid… And I love knowing that the joy I got from this show lives in on G5, even if it’s changing.

I’m a fan of STAR TREK, but I’m not terribly fond of the new versions that have aired on Paramount Plus. But I’m not going to threaten anyone who enjoys these shows; I’m just going to enjoy what I like. Fandom in general has become overly toxic of late, and that’s indicative of the overall attitude towards most things nowadays (especially politics). It needs to stop. It's people like ya who I enjoy to spend time with cause I know that everyone has a different side of the story, Whether good or bad. Why can't we just enjoy what we can agree on or agree to disagree and move on to enjoy each other. There is so much wrong in this world that could be fixed if everyone wasn't at each other's throats over the smallest things.
bro I almost cried with this video it made me realize something. I have to be honest I was very disappointed with MYM due to the writing problems, but I still really care about G5, even with the various problems I love the characters i love Zipp (my favorite), our eternally forgotten Sprout and Misty, part of me didn't understand why, but now I understand, it's because following G5 makes me feel good, when you care about something you can deal with the failures and just enjoy it for yourself, so thanks for reminding me of that.
The reason for why someone like G5 is like when someone ask you why you like MLP (in G4 time). I admit that I thought that I respect opinion to enjoy something that can not understand by others. But G5, esp. in my country trend, hates happen and G4 fans moved on. I’m sad that this happen to many fans and also me because I was surround by the words like “G5 is nothing like G4”, or “they go back to st**id kids show”. And yes I just believe them, I’m quite sorry that this happen to this degree. But for now, Thank you to share this message. mlp helped me learn the ways of friendship, and im grateful for that. I hope g5 allows for a new generation to experience that same childlike happiness i felt from mlp. At first i didn't like g5, but maybe ill warm up to it. Maybe I'll love it just as much as I loved g4.
YESS THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I LOVE MY LITTLE PONY, although I was wishing for a full on reboot where they remade applejack again, I enjoyed reading the little comics and I love Cloudpuff (so adorable). Its sad that people in the fandom have turned their backs on the people who love this show. Honestly one of my friends really dislikes the reliance on gen4 but she still respects the show. Disrespect is just a terrible thing and what your friend went through shouldn't have happened. I can't wait to see what MLP turns into (And If they add more apple ponies, like I really love them) Anthropomorphic rainbow magical ponies for the win! Even though I may not like a lot of things about G5, I can say that Ive admired the fandoms growth and community from what Ive seen. Sure, like all fandoms, they have they're flaws, but so far, Ive seen quite a lot of wholesome interaction and interesting creativity. (The art is also really cool in there!!!! ^^) We may politely disagree on a lot of things, but at the end of the day, we are both human travelers in this world, who happen to find Peace in Ponies. 😌✨️ Please, anyone from Gen 5, and Gen4: Keep going, keep living, keep thriving, and keep **learning**. You both have had harder times with pepole outside of this fandom, with eachover, and withen eachover, but rather then call on karma, I say we call on friendship. I'm not a fan of g5, but I will never ever hurt or make fun of people who love it. Mlp is my comfort show, and I'm glad it's a comfort for so many others and will continue to be. This video made me cry. I have the same mentality about this. Didn't we learn friendship? Can't we just respect differences and love them for being different? Yeah, G5 as a show is good. No matter how ugly and silly it is. Some episodes are really good. Especially the first movie. Biggest improvement since both g4 my little pony movies. People are afraid of change i guess.Even tho its been almost 5 years since the end of season 9.

You described the feeling i had when i was 16 watching Season 1 in German perfectly. I was sick, when i stumbled upon MLP on youtube when that was still a thing and i just... kept, watching. I felt weird, of course. Who wouldnt, right? But whenever i watched a new episode this warm and fuzzy feeling of comfort and love was everywhere. I still have very fond memories of that time, even if my day to day interactions with Ponies fell a bit off since Season 5. All my friends i made that i interact with today i made through My Little Pony. We shared all the cringy times, all the good times, the cons, the meetups. Everything. And even if we grow up and maybe start drifting apart because everyone is now a "responsible" adult, i think i`ll never really loose this child in me that just wants to be cozy and happy. And hey, as a Pinkie Pie Fan i`d say Izzy is doing a mighty fine job! Unfortunately, whenever there is something good, the bad stuff is usually not that far apart. I saw the interaction you shared on Twitter and i am truely sorry for what your friend has gone through. For me MLP made me an even more friendly person and i can not understand what makes poeple tick that way. I just cant. But, we cant change the way awfull poeple try to destroy our lifes, the only thing you can do is to ignore them and shield yourself and move on. My Little Pony was a fantastic time for me, and still is. I just wish more poeple would have actually listened to Twillight in the end.
I think bronies need to get used to mlp fluctuating in quality as new generations come out. I say this as a fan of a couple other Hasbro properties lmao. I personally apreciate that they even tried with g5. It was never gonna be another g4 and the fanbase should've known that from the beginning. G4 was an anomaly, not a new standard.

I'm a fan of G4 and I was kind of sceptical with the arrival of new generation. I remember my feeling when I first sat to watch the very first film of G5 with my friends and... I enjoyed it so much. Don't know really why but it was something magical. It's not the same as G4, characters are different but it still got that magic. Yeah, surely "Make your mark" has some big flaws in writing but it was still enjoyable on the silly level of it. And people like you, that are making art with new pones, new animations, new songs make me happy that this small community is alive❤ keep it that way. I really appreciate you all pones! We need to remember that making friends is better than spitting slures on the internet~ like... G4 fans were and are still victims of hate in the internet, so I don't understand why some of them are leaning towards using the same methods to others
I used to watch G4 around the end of Season 4 and the start of Season 5. Was super into the show, but slowly stopped watching during season 6 and never bothered with any creations from the fandom at that point. I get a trailer for season 9/10 being the end of the series, recommended to me later, and kinda shrugged it off. 2021 comes around, and wanting to avoid spoilers for Halo: Infinite’s campaign (I really wanted to play it), I noticed I kept getting recommended littleshyfim’s video on “A New Generation”. So I eventually caved, watched it, eventually watched the movie myself and enjoyed it (despite the flaws). Then I hear “Make Your Mark” is coming out, and started watching it. Discovered and played Them’s Fightin Herds too. I got sucked back into the fandom. Ironically, the opening to Halo: Infinite is a good way to depict me rediscovering MLP. Sure, G5 isn’t perfect. The movie didn’t give the show any foundation to go off of, the rushed nature of the episodes (especially the first episode special) didn’t help the narrative either, and the 3D animation is a lot more limiting due to the time constraints the studio is under. Yet, G5 seems to be getting better with each season, and I honestly love the setup they have. I seem to be more forgiving and lenient on things if I can see effort still put in and I can still find myself enjoying it. G5 does have effort put in, even if it’s hard to see (especially at the start). I still like that they aren’t trying to do everything G4 did, and branching out with new stuff (like Starlight Ridge, Breezy market, those little pig guys that steal voices, the evolution of dragons, Opaline, etc.) The people who become absolutely enraged over someone liking G5 (or simply mocking those who like it) is just downright pathetic to see. For a show about friendship, it seems we failed the school of friendship.

Why did this hit so hard… i can just feel the tears in my eyes. Yes I’m already emotional but i think thats only one part of the reason why this hit so hard. I went through a time where i am “supposed to be mature” to “fit in” and not watch children’s shows, because “you’re too old to watch these”, or “its too cringe” etc. It rips me apart when i have the feeling of embarrassment for liking children’s shows… my *childhood* shows… shows that i grew up with, which is kind of sad. But now i’ve overcome that time and now i don’t give a hooves (heh pony puns) to anyone’s opinion, i can like and watch whatever children’s show i like, no one is going to make me feel “too old” or to stop my inner child being happy. I will forever be childish and happy, and my inner child will also forever be happy. Growing up never meant to just drop your whole childhood and everything that made your childhood a childhood. Being mature doesn’t mean that you must only be boring and live a life that barely a life. Whatever age you are, you *can* have fun and be happy. The world is an awful, horrid place sometimes. Ponies were a bit of wholesomeness at a time I needed it, around December 2019 I got on board very shortly after Friendship is Magic aired its last episode. G5 continues to be the same way, and I enjoy both it and G4 including Pony Life.
On FiMFiction, there is a writer who has a long history of being bullied over... "reads his notes" The simple fact that they hate the Friendship is Magic show. To those bullies specifically: You all got problems!

When I first heard about New Generation was going to be a new cast of ponies, I was sad to see the group of ponies that I love were no longer going to be seen. But that changed when I heard that G5 was still the same world of G4 but in the future, and the new Mane 6 are reincarnation of the previous Mane 6. I love G5 cause of how the 3D makes the ponies look cute, amazing, and creative it looks. Yeah, Hasbro says there will be no more Make Your Mark seasons which some say no more 3D ponies. But I highly doubt that. In fact, we got a new My Little Pony video game which again is 3D and continues to make me wonder… will there be a sequel movie of My Little Pony A New Generation with the movie cast? I’m saying there is a possibility, and I would not want to think that it wouldn’t happen.

I just started watching it (currently on chapter 2) and I personally just don't enjoy it that much...but it's mostly because of certain stuff like how it ruined the G4 timeline, Sparky being the cause of most problems, etc.

G5 may not be the best (imo), but it's not something to threaten death to someone. MLP was supposed to be about inclusion, to be friends with people, no matter what they enjoy.

G5 has no joke become my main source of pony entertainment as of late, one that has given me more enjoyment than G4 ever has in a long time. And I would honestly much prefer to see people be much MUCH more civil when it comes to their dislike for it, and would like to see more people just appreciating it for what it is. And the lack of the latter gets me sometimes because people need to apply that to G4, but oftentimes never really have.
It's all just confusing and very goofy asf to me. This is legitimately a cartoon pony franchise made with kids first thing in mind, but well made enough to where even grown adults can have a great time with it. There's legitimately no point in acting this way.

I passionately watched G4 in 2017 when I became a brony and I still enjoy it looking back on the brilliance it provided, no matter if I currently wholeheartedly prefer G5 because it's been the generation I found the most comfort in from its simplicity and amazing characters that gave me hope and a feeling of charity in my life. Hell, when I discovered G1 and G3 most recently, they won me over more than both of those generations because it's something different and fantastic to indulge in, just like what happened when I first watched G4 and G5. I strongly appreciate and love every single generation of My Little Pony because there is something unique and special for anybody and at the end of the day, we are all dumb ponies who have their own passions and likenesses in the franchise. There should NEVER be any rational or moral reason to wish harm on anyone because of a small opinion. It's terribly disrespectful for everyone else. Hoof to heart! When we make our mark, we all prove that friendship is magic, no matter your age or prefered generation. We are all in this community together! 💚⭐

I could literally sit here forever dissecting every. Single. Thing. I absolutely loved about this video, but I'm only going to do two.
Firstly, "I'm confused because I thought everyone learned about friendship" That hit me like a truck. Kinda redefined the point of MLP in the first place...to learn about friendship no matter your age.
And second, I cannot tell you how INCREDIBLE your use of visuals were in this video as a WHOLE, but specifically that one scene when you were talking about the way they looked AND YOU SHOWED THE OG PONIES, WHAT AN IMPACT!
This is genuinely one of my favorite videos I've seen on the Internet in a bit, genuinely. I'm so sorry this happened to you, I cannot consider myself as big of a fan of G5 as I was/am with G4, but I can relate to that feeling of simple happiness and Comfort from watching a simple...cute show.
I suppose comparing and expecting G5 to live up to G4 was asking for WAY too much in the grand scheme of things....G4 and the Wave of it was a beautiful accident that I don't think anyone was ever expecting. G5 was unfairly expected to do the same...When maybe it was never supposed to, at least in the same way. G3 fans are different from G4 fans, I personally grew up with G3 and transitioning to G4 wasn't easy until I genuinely gave it a shot and found out I loved it. G5 fans to G4 I never considered...are probably the same in the sense of them just simply growing up with a different Gen of Pone.

I used to hate the g5 one, It wasn't really on the new characters, but the change of art style, I love lauren faust design of them, so that's why I hated it for a lil, but then I found the g5 stuff toys in the mall, I was kinda excited! So I ended up buying two(Sunny and Izzy) because of I love MLP so much, the show also give me comfort, after watching this right now. I don't hate it anymore, because why would I? Even if I’m someone that didn’t grow up with mlp and I got interested in it quite late in G4’s life span, and my thoughts on G5 can be a bit iffy as of late, I still absolutely agree that no one should be hated on for simply enjoying something that makes them happy. Damn.. This resonates with me so much. I’ve been a big fan of G5 from the start, I also just find it comforting. It’s nice. I actually made a discord server that has fans of the gen and other gens too just supporting each other. It’s sad to have a lot of them are struggling with hate in the fandom but I’m glad we’re not alone! Aside from that I’ve always had a difficult relationship with my interests, as they’ve always been a little odd and childish. With normal people I can’t talk about it much, but it’s much more sad to not be able to be excited your interests with people who have ones similar to yours. Anyways thanks for this video, I really felt it, and thanks for all you do for the community 💗🙏
Thank you for personally putting your take on things, this feels very genuine and im sure we all can appreciate your efforts in doing so as I do right now. Ive been in this for almost 12 to 13 years now and its never really left me, I just like watching pony cartoons, they make me happy even G5, I feel the writing is different yes and at times you just roll your eyes but in the end it really never actually lost its touch, i hope everypony can see this and take off the shaded lenses of being over nostalgic. Honestly, I for one like both G4 and G5 equally. I mean yeah G5 will never be as good as G4 but G4 had it's share of flaws too you know after all no cartoon is truly perfect.
And the people who have been causing all of this nonsensical drama over hating G5 are just jerks who have nothing better to do with their time. Man this is so beautiful…I didn't take the chance to really watch the FIM show ehennit was still on air when I was a kid. But then I discovered G5 last year and I fell in love with it and the characters. I then wanted to learn about the show before it but I was unable to access the show on my own so I turned to the fans to learn about it from them. And I see why so many loved it and still do. But I do see hate that is present and I understand but it's suffocating at times. I really like your message as I feel like it's something that can be shared not just with MLP but with all sorts of other fandoms that are facing the same thing. I find myself taking breaks from the internet more often than not because the negativity in the community can get pretty overwhelming, I've had my fair share of unwarranted hate thrown my way and It's kinda scary for me to dive into interactions, even though I really want to engage more with the fandom

The world is boring, stressful, full of pain, and difficult to navigate at times. You have to be strong and mature to make it through, but at the same time, it's okay to want to escape from it. People have mixed opinions about escapism, but as far as I'm concerned, to destress by enveloping yourself in a colorful world full of cute ponies and magic where the ultimate power is friendship is not a bad thing to do. Like everyone is saying, MLP:FIM and even G5 both gave me small bits of happiness and laughter that broke me away from the struggles of life. I'm doing better now, but I still look fondly to MLP for the good it brought to the world.

Coming from someone who doesn’t like G5, I respect your opinion. I feel like most people on the negative side towards G5 can agree that we weren’t really mad at it, just disappointed. Because the thing is, when you connect a new series to a previous one that meant so much to people, only to tear it down for the sake of it, it hurts. G5 should’ve done one thing to save the negative criticism, and that is just making it separate from G4. That way, we could’ve just appreciated it for what it was. Aside from the movie, I just couldn’t enjoy G5 for trying to be more than it was. I hope I was able to get my perspective across well. I definitely agree that death threats and bullying shouldn’t be tolerated in this community over differing opinions. Those kinda people need to rewatch Honest Apple from G4 for the moral.

Generation 5 may be a mixed bag, but seeing other people get inspired by it and have a fun time with friends does make it feel worth it.

People have completely forgotten what made Friendship is magic to begin with, Friendship itself. Bronies and Girls coming together and enjoying each other’s company, meeting new friends, bonding over different experiences with the show and so forth. We all need to be more kind/respectful towards one another and put our hatred aside. Like Sunny Starscout said we can choose fear and hatred😣😡,or we can choose friendship/love❤😊. Just a little something to put on your minds.
I'd say I'm more of a G4 fan personally, but I like G5, too. I watched the movie in the cinema (was shown in cinemas in my country) and it's pretty good. The music is lovely, and the character personalities and designs are all charming. I especially loved Izzy from the movie. Later on, series appeared, and while I don’t like some aspects of it, I keep watching MYM whenever new stuff comes out, and occasionally watch TYT as well. I've grown to like Misty a lot, the way she acts reminds me of myself actually. But let me tell you this - people like you keep the fandom alive, and it's thanks to people like you that G5 interests a lot of people. Because of all the G5 content, the hype is still there. I know a lot of people, including myself, prefer G4, but G5 isn't bad, too. Love the G5 mane 6 (literally working on an art with them XP) and how the fandom creates awesome content with them
So yeah, it's not wrong to like them. They're cute and kids can still enjoy them. I hope to see more of G5 in the future, and more stuff from you!
Friendship is magic. I love how far the MLP fandom has come as a whole. And I hate to see hate being spread to and from the community, but with time we will all overcome it.
I won't deny that g5 could've been better and that it bit off more than it could chew, but what it did right was introducing a bunch of cute and rather relatable characters.
Heck, one moment that really struck a cord for me was in chapter 4 with Misty, when she broke into the Brighthouse, going through the m5's photo album. She was angry about how fulfilled they were, having friends and a purpose, until she saw a picture of herself with them, seeing that they considered her one of their friends, making her stop and whimper. I've... been in that situation more times than I'd like to admit.
I arrived to g4 at the very end and I was with g5 from its very beginning, so one could say it has a special place in my heart.

I know that everyone really liked G4 and most of them hate G5. But... Even though G5 isn't like G4 that doesn't mean they can hate someone who loves G5 or nobody allowed to love them. I don't like all the shows equally, or for the same reasons, but none of it fills me with hate. Maybe some of my enjoyment is a sort of schadenfreude, laughing at G3 and stuff like that, but I'd never hate someone who enjoyed it unironically. Anyway, thinking a different generation is silly, or not enjoying it, it's fine. It's okay to not like things, but don't be a dick about it. But I really can't understand how people who've loved any iteration of My Little Pony can fail to take in the message of friendship so profoundly. Love your fellow pone.

G4 fans we're always intense, even with the show they're now say they loved (the G4). They had always something to complain such as the writing, the quality, the characters, the canon etc.
This honestly sums up my whole experience with this gen so far, and I relate too well. G5's writing has been all over the place, but I still find the characters adorable and would rank em all highly alongside their 4 counterparts. It's such an odd experience, but cute ponies just bring universal joy.

Thank you for making this video. I always thought my reason for liking g5, (MLP in general) seemed a bit shallow, but I'm glad others also like MLP simply because it makes them happy.
I personally never watched ponies growing up, I only had my first exposure to G4 as an adult in college. I was initially wary of the fandom as I heard things like it was full of degenerates from 4chan and they're otherwise just weird for liking it. But when I got to know some fans and they were all just having fun enjoying a cartoon they enjoyed, I slowly grew to appreciate it and soon quickly watched through the whole show which was at the time only two seasons.
What stuck with me the most was life lessons on how to love and appreciate those close to you, lessons I had really wish I learned growing up. as the show went on and the fandom grew and grew in popularity, spawning so much fandom content and communities, I felt proud to be a part of it.
the show and the community helped me explore myself and allowed me to express a more true part of myself. this is something I also hear for many fans young and old as well.
I might not be as deeply involved with the fandom nowadays as I was in the past, but I've been enjoying G5, even with its flaws and weird release schedule. it's also been fun seeing those who were my age discovering or rediscovering ponies who still genuinely enjoy it today, especially despite potential backlash outside (and inside..) the community.

I don’t dislike g5, though I don’t love it. I want to watch it properly again, to just enjoy and not look too deep into it. I’ve been getting back into the OLD mlp series, the ones I used to have toys from as a kid… And I love knowing that the joy I got from this show lives in on G5, even if it’s changing.

I found this on the Elements of Justice discord channel not knowing what to expect. What I got was heartfelt and true. Even if I personally dislike G5, people should never be insulted or sent death treats for liking it. That shouldn't happen for anybody who likes any show! We should always remember two things: friendship is magic and hoof to heart.

I understand disliking G5, but there isn't a reason that us pony fans can't all be friends together. Us ponyfolk are all despised by seemingly every other corner of the internet, so it's only ever in the presence of fellow pony fans that we can feel truly understood and enjoy our love of colorful equines. We're all on the same team here, and fighting for the same thing.

I’m a fan of STAR TREK, but I’m not terribly fond of the new versions that have aired on Paramount Plus. But I’m not going to threaten anyone who enjoys these shows; I’m just going to enjoy what I like. Fandom in general has become overly toxic of late, and that’s indicative of the overall attitude towards most things nowadays (especially politics). It needs to stop. It's people like ya who I enjoy to spend time with cause I know that everyone has a different side of the story, Whether good or bad. Why can't we just enjoy what we can agree on or agree to disagree and move on to enjoy each other. There is so much wrong in this world that could be fixed if everyone wasn't at each other's throats over the smallest things.

I have to be honest I was very disappointed with MYM due to the writing problems, but I still really care about G5, even with the various problems I love the characters i love Zipp (my favorite), our eternally forgotten Sprout and Misty, part of me didn't understand why, but now I understand, it's because following G5 makes me feel good, when you care about something you can deal with the failures and just enjoy it for yourself, so thanks for reminding me of that.

The reason for why someone like G5 is like when someone ask you why you like MLP (in G4 time). I admit that I thought that I respect opinion to enjoy something that can not understand by others. But G5, esp. in my country trend, hates happen and G4 fans moved on. I’m sad that this happen to many fans and also me because I was surround by the words like “G5 is nothing like G4”, or “they go back to st**id kids show”. And yes I just believe them, I’m quite sorry that this happen to this degree. But for now, Thank you to share this message. The warmness and kindness is really important for the show which we might just overlooked due to other flaws.

YESS THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I LOVE MY LITTLE PONY, although I was wishing for a full on reboot where they remade applejack again, I enjoyed reading the little comics and I love Cloudpuff (so adorable). Its sad that people in the fandom have turned their backs on the people who love this show. Honestly one of my friends really dislikes the reliance on gen4 but she still respects the show. Disrespect is just a terrible thing and what your friend went through shouldn't have happened. Even though I may not like a lot of things about G5, I can say that Ive admired the fandoms growth and community from what Ive seen. Sure, like all fandoms, they have they're flaws, but so far, Ive seen quite a lot of wholesome interaction and interesting creativity. (The art is also really cool in there!!!! ^^)

I'm not a fan of g5, but I will never ever hurt or make fun of people who love it. Mlp is my comfort show, and I'm glad it's a comfort for so many others and will continue to be. You described the feeling i had when i was 16 watching Season 1 in German perfectly. I was sick, when i stumbled upon MLP on youtube when that was still a thing and i just... kept, watching. I felt weird, of course. Who wouldnt, right? But whenever i watched a new episode this warm and fuzzy feeling of comfort and love was everywhere. I still have very fond memories of that time, even if my day to day interactions with Ponies fell a bit off since Season 5. All my friends i made that i interact with today i made through My Little Pony. We shared all the cringy times, all the good times, the cons, the meetups. Everything. And even if we grow up and maybe start drifting apart because everyone is now a "responsible" adult, i think i`ll never really loose this child in me that just wants to be cozy and happy. And hey, as a Pinkie Pie Fan i`d say Izzy is doing a mighty fine job!
Unfortunately, whenever there is something good, the bad stuff is usually not that far apart. I saw the interaction you shared on Twitter and i am truely sorry for what your friend has gone through. For me MLP made me an even more friendly person and i can not understand what makes poeple tick that way. I just cant. I'm a fan of G4 and I was kind of sceptical with the arrival of new generation. I remember my feeling when I first sat to watch the very first film of G5 with my friends and... I enjoyed it so much. Don't know really why but it was something magical. It's not the same as G4, characters are different but it still got that magic. Yeah, surely "Make your mark" has some big flaws in writing but it was still enjoyable on the silly level of it.
And people like you, that are making art with new pones, new animations, new songs make me happy that this small community is alive❤ keep it that way. I really appreciate you all pones! We need to remember that making friends is better than spitting slures on the internet~ like... G4 fans were and are still victims of hate in the internet, so I don't understand why some of them are leaning towards using the same methods to others
I used to watch G4 around the end of Season 4 and the start of Season 5. Was super into the show, but slowly stopped watching during season 6 and never bothered with any creations from the fandom at that point. I get a trailer for season 9/10 being the end of the series, recommended to me later, and kinda shrugged it off.
2021 comes around, and wanting to avoid spoilers for Halo: Infinite’s campaign (I really wanted to play it), I noticed I kept getting recommended littleshyfim’s video on “A New Generation”. So I eventually caved, watched it, eventually watched the movie myself and enjoyed it (despite the flaws). Then I hear “Make Your Mark” is coming out, and started watching it. Discovered and played Them’s Fightin Herds too. I got sucked back into the fandom. Ironically, the opening to Halo: Infinite is a good way to depict me rediscovering MLP.
Sure, G5 isn’t perfect. The movie didn’t give the show any foundation to go off of, the rushed nature of the episodes (especially the first episode special) didn’t help the narrative either, and the 3D animation is a lot more limiting due to the time constraints the studio is under. Yet, G5 seems to be getting better with each season, and I honestly love the setup they have. I seem to be more forgiving and lenient on things if I can see effort still put in and I can still find myself enjoying it. G5 does have effort put in, even if it’s hard to see (especially at the start). I still like that they aren’t trying to do everything G4 did, and branching out with new stuff (like Starlight Ridge, Breezy market, those little pig guys that steal voices, the evolution of dragons, Opaline, etc.)
The people who become absolutely enraged over someone liking G5 (or simply mocking those who like it) is just downright pathetic to see. For a show about friendship, it seems we failed the school of friendship.

Yes I’m already emotional but i think thats only one part of the reason why this hit so hard.
I went through a time where i am “supposed to be mature” to “fit in” and not watch children’s shows, because “you’re too old to watch these”, or “its too cringe” etc.
It rips me apart when i have the feeling of embarrassment for liking children’s shows… my *childhood* shows… shows that i grew up with, which is kind of sad.
But now i’ve overcome that time and now i don’t give a hooves (heh pony puns) to anyone’s opinion, i can like and watch whatever children’s show i like, no one is going to make me feel “too old” or to stop my inner child being happy.
I will forever be childish and happy, and my inner child will also forever be happy.
Growing up never meant to just drop your whole childhood and everything that made your childhood a childhood. Being mature doesn’t mean that you must only be boring and live a life that barely a life. Whatever age you are, you *can* have fun and be happy.
