Hot oil treatments are amazing. Your hair is beautiful. I do them every 2 weeks before I shampoo and my hair is soft and smooth every time. One suggestion is not to use so much. You only need enough to massage in the scalp and lightly coat the hair. Will save you lots of money, wasted oil, and messy cleanup. Results will still be great.
For anyone wondering, I do hot oil treatments usually weekly in the winter and I use on dirty hair and still see really great results. Just shampoo and deep condition afterwards. But I do wash weekly and use minimal products throughout the week. If I feel like I have heavy product buildup I would wash first
@@princess_lookbook yes I have very dense low porosity type 4 hair. It is annoying to wash every week but because it's low porosity it gets product buildup very easily. Also over time my wash days are much quicker and with hot oil treatments sometimes I don't even need a leave in. I use a variety of products, I think the routine is more important than the products. I do a henna treatment once a month. I use baking soda water rinse before I shampoo. I usually use the mane choice or creme of nature for shampooing. I use melaninhaircare for deep conditioning and leave in. I also use creme of nature pure honey for deep condition and sometimes I use texture ID products for deep conditioners and leave ins. I use castor oil to seal my hair regularly. I also do a lot of diy leave ins, deep conditioners, and gel. I try to do diy treatments every other week. And store bought products on the off week just so I'm not constantly making a mess in the kitchen but still getting great benefits. Hope this helps! 🙏🏾

Thanks for this video I’m going to apply now. I have grape seed 🍇, avocado 🥑, coconut 🥥, and olive 🫒. So I’ll work with that for now. And my hair is in transition from a relaxer to natural so it’s extremely dry right now
Here in 2024 because im going through a hair crisis. Thank you so much for a very helpful and descriptive/detailed video❤️ You explained everything perfectly ❤️❤️❤️
I do the same but while my hair is in twists and split them into sections. First I soak the twisted sections in oil and then unravel and detangle a twist one at a time. I definitely need to invest in a bottle cuz my poor mirror keeps getting messy lol plus I could save some of the oil in a better way. I do this as my preopoo and leave it on overnight and wash the next day
Tnk u 4 giving us dis tips on hot oil treatment. Am goin 2 try dis soon bt I wld wash my hair n deep condition my hair 1st b4 trying dis hit oil treatment out. My reasons are besides d fact dt d hair-products are expensive dey are hair treatments so why wash dem all away. I'd keep dem all locked in till next wash day. 😂😂😂
Correction sis olive oil contains ANTI-inflammatory properties you mean. Inflammatory oil would be your canola oil that promotes inflammation. Great vid tho’. Thank you
I have used a grocery bag before when I was already oiled and realized I didn’t have any plastic caps left 🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️😂 I put it on, pressed the air out and twisted the ends to tighten it. It got the job done 💪🏾
So do u wet your hair a little before putting the hot oil treatment in? If you do, do you think that the oil penetrates type 4 hair better when wet or is it the same effect whether the hair is wet or dry before putting the oil?
ideally, you should do a hot oil treatment when your hair is clean, whether it be washing your hair one day before or washing your hair the day of. i wash my type 4 hair first, detangle it a little bit, and leave it somewhat damp when applying the oil so that my hair is more manageable. i just do this every wash day and i feel it's made my hair healthier as time goes on, because my hair used to be very damaged
I usually wash my hair right before doing it or at least a day before. Working on clean hair is key! Also, my hair was damp when I applied the oil. As a rule of thumb, it’s never a good idea to work on type 4 hair when it’s dry. Increases the chances of breakage!
I always use the oil as a detangler/prepoo and leave it in for hours (sometimes overnight), then wash and condition as normal and my shedding has decreased significantly.
It depends on your hair type and the health of your scalp. I wash my hair once a week when it’s not in protective styles. I could never go more than 3 weeks without a wash because my scalp will break out.
Tgin green tea super moisturizer is a really good leave in. I use that and Tgin butter cream daily moisturizer and seal with some hair grease and it leave my hair moisturized for at least 3-4 days before having to moisturize my hair again.
Yes I do! The oil helps to fortify your hair and keep it moisturized so that shampoo doesn’t strip it of its moisture completely. Then of course the conditioner helps with moisture as well.
.Are you a good person? Well God gave us the ten commandments as the standard of righteousness. How many lies have you told in your life? Have you ever stolen anything even if the value was small? Have you ever looked at anyone with lust (God considers that to be adultery in the heart). If you’ve done these things God sees you as a liar, a thief, and an adulterer at heart. God is perfectly Just, Good, and Holy. His justice means hell for those who are guilty. A lot of people think they are “good people” but good deeds can never make you right with God. Would a good judge let a murderer go because they did good things? Of course not, that judge would be corrupt. And since God is good, He must punish all evil. But God made a way for us terrible sinners to be reconciled to Him and save us from His wrath. He became human in the person of Jesus Christ. He died on the cross taking our punishment on Himself, dying, and rising from the dead. He paid the debt we owed because of our sin! God commands everyone to repent and trust in Jesus alone for salvation. Have a wonderful day!
Honestly I’m not super consistent with them. I would say I do them once a month. I deep condition my hair under a heat cap once a week (every time I wash my hair).
@@LeilaniIman I have protein overload & heat damage so right now I can’t use anything with protein . Do you know what can make my curls come back without having to use protein treatment?
Because my hair was completely saturated with it and it would’ve been super messy. It would’ve seeped through my scarf/bonnet and got on my pillows, couch etc.

Are there any oils you would recommend NOT putting in the hot oil treatment?
Great question - I was wondering the same
what can I use replace coconut oil. I am allergic to coconut oil. Thanks
Buying all these oils today will cost a fortune 😭
The edges sent.meeeeee!
Do you shampoo your hair before AND after the oil or just after? Is it best to do the treatment on dirty/unclean hair?
I will love to know the answer to these questions
I’m doing it before and then washing my hair to get it out of the way
In a comment she states she does the treatment on CLEAN hair. If your hair is dirty, you just gonna make your scalp itch with the oil and dirt
wash and condition before then do the treatment then rinse it out not wash just rinse
Wash, condition then hot oil.
did you wash your hair first before you did the treatment or did you do this on dry hair

Be careful with cooking with the olive oil some aren't meant for cooking
You should only rinse with water after the treatment

Where did you get your heat cap? What’s the name of it?
Do I have to use a bunch of oils? Or can I just use one certain type of oil?
Different oils that help for different reasons is good get whatever oils pertain to what your hair needs
You don’t have to use a bunch of oils! You can just use a deep conditioner and one oil like olive oil or jojoba oil.
Does your scalp itch when you apply Black Jamaican castor oil?
Can we use different brands of the oils? I have a different type of coconut oil and avocado oil
Absolutely. Just check the label to make sure it’s 100% oil with no additives
Question. So do u again go back and do the LOC regimen? Or do u just put your conditioner in and that's it?
I definitely do the LOC method after! My hair would dry out if I don’t get that extra moisture in there.

I thought when one calls it a hot oil treatment, you actually have to heat the oil mixture not use it as added...hmm
Where did you get your heat cap from?

What kind of leave in conditioner do you recommend
