    Good video. How did you disconnect the 2 connectors on the left side? My is 92 GMC envoy

      Im thinking your talking about the tranny cooler lines? If so theres a cap that you slide up the line a little and then use a pick to pull the retaining clip out, it’s sort of a u shape and then the lines should pull out if not you’ll have to use some leverage and force em out

      @@Heardlikerock1879 Oo the heat shield? It’s held on by 2 I believe they were 10mm bolts then that drops out of the way giving ya access to the lines

    What do i do if i put a double connector trans into a newer model with a single electric connector wiring

      @mcdanielbuilds  Год назад +1

      I’m guessing your talking about neutral safety switch? If so I’d say there’s probably a adaptor made already if you have to use the double or just swap it out to the single connector one which is what I would suggest

      I switched back to the single because that's what the truck had previously but the trans doesn't want to engage. I put a 02 trans into an 04 and removed my 4x4. Any ideas? I am confident it's an electronic problem

      The neutral safety just keeps the vehicle from starting in gear and tells the cluster what gear it is in, what I would do is have some one in the vehicle and put it in gear while your under it and make sure the gear selector on the transmission is actually moving, if so it’s a bad trans, if not then there’s your issue and just fix the cable to the gear selector

    Hi do you know if there’s a pipe with mounting taps that is located in the bell housing area ?

    Will an 03 transmission fit in a 04 front wheel drive trailblazer?

    did you have the change the bell housing from the tahoe transmission i have a rebuild transmission on my trailblazer put my frame rusted out want to put that transmission into my tahoe

      Yea I had to change the bell housing and the tail housing for the transfer case but where the bell housing meets the transmission are the same on both bellhousings so just pull the ones off the Tahoe trans and swap em over and your good to go

      From what I found it seems like it’s component slippage? I’d suggest doing a rebuild with flushing out the cooler and a new torque converter if your noticing it slipping.

    Yeah I'm getting ready to do the same thing on my 2004 Chevy Trailblazer except the fact that I had a transmission built by a nice gun went out of Oklahoma for $750 with an upgrade shift kit installed.
    The only difference is I have an electronic shift system which is a drive by wire setup so it's a little easier to deal with. But for anyone looking to tackle their own transmission swap you might want to take a few things into consideration you need to clean the cooler lines you also need to clean the radiator completely or you may get contaminated fluids going back into that and newer transmission and you going to be back to square one. Another thing before you take out the Driveline you want to get yourself a good marker to Mark the orientation points before taking it apart so you don't have a balance issue when you put it all back together again. Another thing on the 4L60E transmission it takes up to 17 quarts of transmission fluid 1 quart goes into the torque converter alone.
    On another note since you have the transfer case offline you may want to take that time also to drain out all the fluid there and refill it with fresh fluid so you don't have a problem with your transfer case later on food for thought

    cool video overview, changing a transfer case seems reasonable to do in a decent garage
