This entire scene made me ball my eyes out because all of this is all true because when we're young we don't have a care in the world and time doesn't even seem to be passing. And then Rebecca played the piano and my sobbing tranformed into straight up bawling my eyes out. Randall and Kevin are my favorite because the spirit and teachings of Jack live on through them and Kate.
I haven't been able to get these words out of my mind since the ep. It is exactly how I feel about getting older! I love Randall's speeches too - even though he catches so much shit for them LOL The most brilliant writing on TV today, executed by the finest of actors. I'm going to miss this show so much. 😢
I've been thinking a lot today, um... about time. And how, when you're young-- like when you're Jackie's age-- a year is like a fifth of your existence. And so maybe when you're younger, time seems to move a little bit slower. Summer vacation is a lifetime. But the older we get, the faster time just seems to come at us. All of us. You know, the years just keep flying by, faster and faster. It can give a guy whiplash, just thinking about it. And so while I would love nothing more than to... stay in this moment as long as humanly possible, to celebrate our favourite newlyweds... sadly, I have yet to build a remote that pauses life. Damn. That doesn't mean there aren't still summer vacations to be enjoyed. Still good conversations to be had. And still love to be shared. It just all happens much faster. But, um... in moments like this, when you're around all your favourite people... celebrating a really special day... time does slow down ever so much. So I'm grateful to Kate and Philip for that. And I'm filled with comfort, as I look around this room, knowing that all of you will be on this speeding train with me, slowing down for the occasional special stop. All the way till the very end. So, um... cheers.
@@Drifter1989 I think you're right but they definitely wouldn't miss their Aunt wedding. Randall not playing that. And to not mention them at all doesn't make sense.
It's a destination wedding in Italy. It's normal that not everyone who'd usually be invited would be there. Also, the girls haven't been that close to Kate in their teen years. So it was probably to expensive and time-consuming for them in their early twenties to come?
Fake Account It was profound and some lightheartedness added in, that's why they laughed. Randall's speeches always hits the mark if you really listen and comprehend.
Loved everything about this wedding episode than the actual wedding. The whole Kate/Phillip relationship just kills the essence of the show. Nothing the writers are pushing for why Kate and Toby get divorced makes any sense. It went to fast from Kate and Toby being a happy couple to Kate marrying Phillip. The whole story arc makes me not like Kate and she was my least favorite character to begin with on the show.
It felt fast on the show, but in reality Philip and Kate’s relationship progressed over multiple years before they got married. Also, believe it or not things like happen often in real life. People get divorced, remarry, etc. Some couples just don’t work out, that’s just how life goes sometimes.
@@teampearson8600 I think my bigger disagreement with this plot is how it just reinforces the idea that marriage is something you can just throw away based on disagreements. What I picked up is that Kate doesn't like how Toby "changed" by basically becoming more responsible, how Toby has a different parenting style, and all her pokes/criticisms causes him to always be on the defensive. Like how she criticizes him reading a different story to their daughter. Toby is not abusive towards her or the kids. Toby did far more to try to save their marriage by taking a less paying job, he was showing up to the marriage counseling on time, and seemed to take their marriage more seriously. IMO, Kate wanted to breakup since he got skinny. That whole episode where he wants the "fun" fat Toby said it all. She wants Toby before he got serious about his career, health etc because he has kids. Personally, I think Kate a bitch. I get she blames herself for Jack's death. However, she didn't have to be mean to her mom for years and basically blame her weight on her mother. Toby is always at fault with her and it accumulated with the "not locking the gate" incident. She takes no responsibility for her not locking the door. Instead if both uniting around their child, she gets mad at him. What ruined that marriage was her and if she doesn't fix herself, she will ruin her next marriage. Over 50% of marriages in this country fail and this story arc shows how superficial issues cause it. She even said they loved each other but sometimes love isn't enough. Bullshit. My wife and I have been married for 22 years. People always ask how do we make it work. I answered that if you take all the bad times, it probably adds up at least 3 of those 22 years were bad. A marriage will have storms but love is actually enough. The love that goes past the superficial love at the beginning. It is the love that grows from building a life together. I felt Toby and Kate did have that deeper love. Well at least Toby did. Ok, I am taking this show way too seriously...LOL.
This speerch is full of wisdom and so inspiring. I love Randall’s speeches.
But I have an issue ...I cried in every episode till season 6 episode 1 but from episode 2 I don't feel like crying ....why???

No wonder Randall becomes a successful politician. Just look at the way he speaks to a room

OMG thank you so much for transcribing, was just about to do so myself!u
As Beth said...sexy and depressing..oh man! I love that woman:))))
Heavy on the depressing…
Kevin, of course, did him a favor with HIS toast…
I sent this to everyone in my contact list.
It was extremely powerful to me. Time is a gift 🙏
I'm not ready for this is us to be over I feel like I'm losing a part of myself 😭
We’ll have this moment forever now.
Saaaaaaaaaame!
Enjoy every moment, minute and milestone ahead. But most importantly just enjoy the present. One day at a time.
my favorite character
I love Randell
I love this man!
Randall just gets it. He knows!!!!
What a beautiful text!
I want the text of this to keep forever
I wish legend of Korea was more like that
Can you upload the scene where Rebecca, Nicky and Edie are watching Tv and Rebecca thinks it’s Jack that comes in and not Kevin please ?
So NBC expects me to be okay with not getting a weekly dose of SKB as Randall after this season? 🥺
where are beth and randall’s kids? :(
i think they may be in college? but also its their aunts wedding so i agree lol
Probably couldn’t find the right actresses since they’d be in their early 20s and late teen years.

Where was randalls kids
Maybe college? Who knows
I read that it was due to budget. So many extras such as Sophie, Cassidy, etc.
Yeah, none of Randall's daughter's were at the wedding. It was really weird
You said it. I thought it.

Can this just be a bad April fools joke and really you have like 10 more seasons to come
Can’t he just be a little lighthearted for once? He always tries to sound like he’s saying something so profound

This was too long and boring and a downer for a wedding
...but ABSOLUTELY in line w/ Randall's character.
I could hardly follow it. Was so not appropriate for a joyous event such as his sister's wedding.
