Having all levels of the 1985 game ported over to the Wii game's engine is always nice, but those levels weren't designed for such a big screen size, so levels feel and look extremely empty and unappealing. Graphics look amazing, though.
I'd say your perception is limited!!!! Actually the converse is true- it took me about a decade to accept the "wide-screen" standard, but going back in time puts a bit of "hurt" on mah vision.... 4:3 looks like something is missing and I'm scanning (visually) for something more!!!!
They also weren't designed for mario's modern tight controls. The challenge of the original super mario bros was having to handle mario's slightly slippery momentum and jump arcs which was what the simpler level design was built around.

there's something romantic about playing a classic "empty" level with modern graphics. gives me the feels of the first time i played it but without the inevitable heartache of those feels being squashed by 8-bit graphics. the graphics were always 4k in my head, and ignorance is bliss.

Visité tu canal, y se nota que vas iniciando y aún te falta mucho por construir, pero pues, ningún canal nace famoso y con un tronar de dedos tiene mega material de calidad.
Te recomiendo, al menos de momento, que cuides algunos puntos.
1. Ten un tema específico. Los juegos que manejas con increíblemente distintos entre ellos, no tienen una relación de tema para tu canal.
2. Hay que trabajar en esas habilidades de edición, el juego simplemente arranca, juegas, boom! Fin. Para el espectador resulta aburrido.
3. Ocupas agregar algún tipo de personalidad que hable de tu canal. La mayoría de los canales games muestran a la persona jugando, si voz y sus reacciones. Al principio es muy difícil, (lo puedes observar en You Tubers como Markiplier o Jacksepticeye) uno no tiene mucho que decir, a la voz le falta emoción, etc, es NORMAL, con el tiempo, se desarrolla una personalidad atractiva que atrae a suscriptores.
4. Recuerda que tu sueño, es el sueño de MUCHOS, la competencia está bieeen difícil. Según vi, subiste material diario varios días, y luego, desapareciste. No descuides tu canal cuando apenas va iniciando.
5. Recuerda que te vas a decepcionar MUUUUCHO, a veces no vas a tener comentarios, ni likes, y se siente de la fregada, pero es parte de tener un canal que apenas arranca!!

I'd like updated graphics, but somehow to keep the physics, movement, hit boxes, etc. identical. This is an issue I had with Super Mario All Stars, the movement was just a little off from the NES original.

Great graphics and sound, but... monster dancing, simplified mushroom mechanics, turtle pick up, double jump, dash, top to bottom hit, allowed backtrackng, Bowser with 1 HP, extra life on level end, and pooping coin blocks... they just ruin everything.
I swear to god back when I played this (2010-) I thought the original graphics were incredible. Last week I played my this game in my wii again, and i was like woww, I didnt remember them like that

If we pray for Him to come in, regardless of the condition, then He will.
NOTE: You are NEVER too sinful or messed up that God cannot turn your life around through Jesus. EVER.

In this case, a console that can handle better graphics is one that can handle more complex animations and physics engines, which can only be read clearly with better graphics.
NES Graphics would not have the same handling for such sense of gameplay through the complex animations, but the physics of the original are still respectable and their own unique experience.
In short, different graphics equal different experience.
Why’d you change 1-2 music to SML music though?
EDIT - Also, something that would make 1-1 better is to have an additional layer of scrolling backgrounds. Make the light green mountains scroll slower than the dark green ones.

I love Mario’s classic color combo with the red overalls and blue shirt a lot better than what he has now! They should have always kept Mario in his original blue shirt and red overalls combo.

I stand by my opinion that Mario wearing so much blue is against the main reason for his character design.
Miyamoto and Tezuka discussed Mario's color palette for the original game and the reason Miyamoto gave him overalls to begin with was because you need to make out the arms in contrast to the body and legs when you see the figure in profile. When you later put the guy in overalls against a blue background which is a sky, you need to give his overalls the right color and hue to contrast him against the surroundings so the player can easily recognize where they are as they're playing.
Giving Mario blue overalls is in direct conflict with his design. You couldn't give 8-bit Mario blue overalls because he would have blended with the blue sky background. That was the entire point!
Also they let Mario wear a red cap now, but since he wears blue overalls, the red becomes assymmetrically placed as it doesn't go from top to bottom on Mario. Only his upper half has red, and lower half has blue. Tacky. It's the shirt that is suppose to be a different color from red only, and another primary color like blue or green along with red is aestethically unpleasing and poor judgement in design. The orange shirt matches the red overalls better. Luigi had white overalls to contrast his green shirt which is better hue balance aswell and doesn't annoy the eyes.
@@MoonwalkerWorshiper exactly, Mario wearing blue overalls and a red shirt never looked right to me. His original combo of red overalls and blue shirt looked so much better and more colorful too. Mario always should have been kept in his original design. I love the red overalls and blue shirt original design. Thank You for your reply.
@@simonbelmont65 But it's not just a matter of subjective taste, there's facts in this to take into account aswell since plain blue overalls contradicts the original idea of Mario's looks even if plumbers or carpenters might wear blue suspenders, but since he has a cap and an overall those colors need to match. Overalls are not generally blue either. I'm not sure why he had blue overalls in the Mario Bros. arcade, maybe switching the colors to signify a switch of trade (carpenter to plumber).
