Rotation transmission for a C-shaped disk 1

- Input: large blue pulley receiving the rotation from the brown motor.
The yellow C-shaped disk is centered on pink and orange pulleys. The disk is rotated thanks to the black toothed belt drive of the blue and pink pulleys.
This mechanism is used in cable wrapping machines (last scene of the video). The cable is brought into or removed from the machine through the slots of the disk and the machine frame when they are aligned.

Took me a minute to understand. Very beautiful.
So THATS how its done
I always wondered about this
This requires an active tensioner, like an idler on a spring. In moments like 0:40 the belt goes a shorter way, the chord connecting the ends of the gap, instead or the arc of the surface, this reduces its tension and the belt could start slipping over the yellow wheel.
You're right. However, despite its weaknesses, it can still function as shown in the video ruclips.net/video/3QL1QaIwMwk/видео.html
I will try making it
Good for winding toroid transformers
Nice
Oil Rig casing tongs
I'd guess the band and disc would engage better and reduce the risk of slipping if they were teethed? Is there an advantage to use a "plain" band pressed against the disc or is it shown this way for simplicity?
Wouldn't the band need to be teethed on both sides then?
If there are teeth on the C-shape disk, it is not centered well.
Hello, is the middle pink roller/pulley necessary?
I'm not sure about the need to use the middle pink pulley.
Perhaps it helps increase the torque applied to the C-shaped disk.
請問這是用來做甚麼的?
Please read the video description if you need to know more about the mechanism shown in the video.
