He was always very open about his past substance abuse and how He wronged everyone in his life bcs of it. He realy shined a light on the topic That is just what He talks about. If there was pauses, He was just taking time on how to word it, reading the room of the audiences that might have given the vibe they were stunned about the topic.
That shit made me tear up. Because I understand that stare. Addiction is so traumatizing. Add on top of it the original trauma that leads one to use drugs as an attempt to easy the pain

You can't fake the genuine appreciation he showed when he was being complimented at the end - no matter how good of an actor you are. Clearly Tom wasn't comfortable discussing that stuff, but Ross kept pushing it.
