Cool run for sure! I did the Tamarack ride in January 2011, there were over 300 machines and it was 90 percent leaf springers and even some old rear engine iron dogs. The only bad thing about it? There were a few too many folks drinking way too much and riding like idiots, passing sleds with inches to spare with throttles pinned to the bar. I don't mind having a cold one at a rest stop but folks doing shots of liquor at ten AM need to stay home! I have also gone on a small "vintage" ride near my home town in SE Todd county, really me and about five other people on leafers. I go to the Elk River vintage meet when I can, that's a blast.
Man that looks like it was a blast! I would love to take my ole 1995 Indy 440 to one of these events. Actually, I would love to get some old school one-lunger riding in one day as well. The first couple of sleds I owned (back in the 80's) were one-lungers, and we had a total blast beating on...err, I mean riding those things. Fun times in the shop wrenching on them as well. I am not sure what part of the Country you are in, but I would love to ride with you guys someday. I love riding the trails around here (west-central Wisconsin) ...at least on the rare occasions when we actually have snow. Never been on a large group ride like this, but would love to do it one day. Thanks for taking us along on this ride. Loved every minute of it.
