      Kops is hit and miss, but they do have different locations so they’re always moving inventory from one shop to another. I’ve had some good luck there in the past though! And yes, it’s tough to beat Sonic Boom. They have just about everything!

    Nice score of records Chris. It's really good when you can get together and enjoy time record buying. There was a place in Peterborough where the drastically reduced their used records. This was four yrs. ago and again the best stuff went quickly. I didn't know about it and asked what sold.
    I then wished that I didn't ask. Having contacts and any prior knowledge helps.
    Check out The Isley Brothers version of ""Ohio / Machine Gun". They were close friends of Hendrix. Thanks for sharing and ☮️.

    Hey Chris. Wish I could have been there for that meet up. I used to have that Johnny Winter record but had to purge it a few years back. Great record though, I think one side was blank. Love the remastered version of The Division Bell, it sounds excellent. I've almost got them all, but still missing a couple. Congrats on finding a great copy of Big Star, that's one that I've had a hard time finding out there. Hopefully we'll do something like this again and I'll actually get to be there the next time.

      You were definitely missed Mike! We would have loved to have you there. I’m glad you like that Division Bell. I’m really excited to spin that one and see how it sounds. Yes, the Johnny Winter is only 3 sides. Apparently it was meant to only be a single LP but they liked the songs too much and didn’t want to cut anything. And yes- Brian was saying the same thing about that Big Star album. I’m happy about that one, especially considering the condition and price that I paid. Thanks for watching Mike, and we will be sure to have another VC meetup that you can attend!

    Hi Chris great that you had a vc meet up I always enjoy meeting up with people from the vc. I liked that foo fighters record in 2011 I’ve never seen it cheap enough for me to buy it though. Don’t have division bell but that’s one I’d like. Nice scores in the thrift store thanks for sharing chris 👍

    Looks like you had a really good time Chris and managed to pick up some really good vinyl. The Division Bell is probably one of the most overlooked albums, it's got some really great songs on it and is one of my favourite PF albums. Nice find with Hendrix as well. Enjoy spinning.

    • @StylusMeetsVinyl
      @StylusMeetsVinyl  Год назад

      Thanks! Division Bell is really good. I’d heard it before several times, but it just sounds so much better on vinyl. Definitely overlooked! The Hendrix was such a nice find, yes! And it’s in great condition for what I paid. Plays really nicely! Thanks for stopping by in the comments!

    Awesome you guys met up! Ive met up with Brian before and we hit up Sonic Boom. A fave spot. Kops is a bit hit and miss. I did get some good OGs last time. Some classic punk records for the collection. But I do always buy more at Sonic Boom. Aux 33 Tours in Montreal is kind of the equivilant of Sonic Boom in size, selection and prices. Im based in Ottawa so I hit up TO and MTL often.
    Cool Johnny Winter esp for cheap price. I dont know the Foo Fighters material that much although I have seen them in concert at a festival. Ive subbed your channel. Cheers man!

      Hey! I saw the video that you and Brian did. Sonic Boom is a wonderland of a record store lol. That Foos record sounds phenomenal actually, easily one of the best sounding in my collection. Still waiting to clean up the Johnny Winter before I spin it. Thanks for the sub man!

    Thanks for taking us along on your road trip! Sonic Boom does look a place where I could leave a lot of money behind, but I think my own personal favourites among the records you bought are from the thrift stores: Band of Gypsys and Big Star. I love that Big Star, and their second one, Radio City.
    I have the same feeling about 45rpm albums. I don't like flipping the record over so often, but for some albums it's worth it for the sound.

    • @StylusMeetsVinyl
      @StylusMeetsVinyl  Год назад

      I heard Radio City was good too! Though I don’t believe I’ve ever seen it in the wild. I’m starting to really flesh out my collection with some really great records. I love hearing everyone’s thoughts on the records too, so thanks for sharing. Also you are out in BC, correct? I’ll be heading to Vancouver in March to see the Leafs vs Canucks. I’ll have to get your list of essential record stores to visit while I am there!

      @@StylusMeetsVinyl I lived in Vancouver for a few years a very long time ago, and shopped at Zulu, Neptoon and High Life (which are still there) and some other stores that are gone now. I don't know much about the stores that have opened up since I was there. Maybe you have a Vancouverite watching that can give you some advice?
      I'm on Vancouver Island, north of Victoria, so I know the Victoria stores well. If you get to the island I can definitely help you out!

    Hey Chris - You were very surreptitious in your filming! Good thing you got my good side :) You found some great stuff in the pawn shop. Amazing that you found Big Star.
