That must be a very special knife. Your design that will allow for cleaning is one that manufacturers don't think of. I haven't worked with birch before, but I didn't realize it could look so rich in color when finished. Thank you....
Thank you! Oh the knife isn’t something special but it’s good for everyday use! and yeah I like how birch is shinny after planing. It’s so smooth and I don’t know I just like it:)
Thank you! I was rushing to make a case for a knife that I got as a Xmas gift and I realized I was also rushing to make a case for chisels that I got as a Xmas gift last year, too. Time flies, haha. I wish you a happy new year, too!
This is an excellent tutorial on the importance of continuously working with the grain direction, regardless of how small the procedure, quite an eye opener for me. Thank you.
Thank you! Yes, the grain is very important to avoid an accidental tear out but sometimes it fools me... Birch is a relatively good man as he doesn't fool me much, haha! I wish you a happy new year!
Very nice. I like the design of this, and I can see the usefulness of it. I very much like birch. I've used it for a couple boxes, and a couple projects. I grew to really like it.
Great project & video! I’ve been a subscriber since the beginning, always enjoying your work. Thank you for your hard work & brining us along on your journey. I look forward to what you have in store for us in ‘24! Happy New Year 🎊🎆 -Tony 🇺🇸
Happy New Year! Thank you but I just use my chisels because that's my only choice, haha. I wish I can be creative and skilled enough to produce a lot of unique boxes like you:)
A very happy and successful New Year to you as well. I like your videos equally for the focus on hand tools and the style of your designs. And this knife holder is just another win to my eyes. It's simple but very elegant. A great project and highly useful to boot. The birch you used on it seems to be somewhat more colorful and has nicer grain than some I've worked with. I think that helps a lot. I suspect folks don't care for it that much because the sapwood is quite wide compared to some other species and the heartwood does not seem to be as big on a lot of it. But your pieces look great with the finish on them.
Thank you for the comment! Oh yeah, maybe because of the sapwood, huh! and it's a skinny tree. I've never thought about it. I usually buy them when I see a colorful one or figured one. Anyways, I'm not sure how well I can do in 2024 with woodworking but I'll do my best! Happy new year!
Thank you here, too! a long way to earn $200 but now I got it. so yeah, a speaker and PC case are on my to do list now. They are fun to plan but hard to build, haha.
@@YRTi haha for sure. I built a Bluetooth speaker quite a few years ago, and got the video all edited except for some final pictures, and then never finished it (the video) lol. I should though. And I like computer cases, done a few of those in my day too! If there's anything I can contribute I think it'd be fun!
Thank you my friends in 2023 and see you in 2024! happy holidays:)
You can count on me watching on 2024 and beyond 😉. Thank you for the inspiration
Thank you my friend! So I don't have to be scared of 0 view, haha:) Happy new year!
