Minor spoilers So in a future episode, Sun loses her wedding ring, and we learn at the end of the episode, she lost it while burring the message bottle, so I watched very closely this time, to see if they actually set that up here, and to my surprise, they actually did. She has the ring while burring the messages, then after she's done, the ring is missing. Nice little touch, for something most people probably never even noticed.
I watched out for it too. Afterwards, the camera follows her left hand up so you can see its missing. If you don't know, it doesn't mean anything, but for re-watchers, it's something fun to watchout for.
They knew by this point that fans were combing over every episode looking for clues and hidden meanings constantly, to the point that any inconsistences would've been picked up immediately, so they had to have people tracking literally everything that was going on to avoid any plot holes. They had flowcharts for the myriad of guns that kept popping up and who had which ones, just so they could keep it all straight. So yeah, doesn't surprise me they checkoved the ring going missing too.
So many good scenes in this one. It's a shame so much of DJ Qualls stuff in the flashback had to get cut for RUclips, but it's understandable. Really heartbreaking that the 1st negative impact of Hurley winning the lottery was losing his best friend.
I believe Hurley got Randy the job at the box company because of what happens in a season 3 episode flashback. Randy was Locke's boss when Locke went to Australia for the walkabout. So, Randy went from Mr. Cluck's chicken to the box company.
I’m 3 years late so I’ll include spoilers: season 6 also supports this. In the flash sideways, Hurley knew Randy (Locke’s boss) as a total dick, harkening back to when he charged Hurley for chicken like an asshole
On the Milk Carton under Walt's info, it says Last seen: Middle of nowhere. (Google for closeup) The actress who plays Claire does in fact have a peanut allergy. LOST will have more than enough characters for everyone soon. Keep pushing that button.
Man, the editing sure did skip around the plot of this episode. Hurley's clearly having a panic and anxiety attack in this episode, suddenly being shouldered with so much responsibility so I really wouldn't call it selfish. It's similar to suddenly being put in a position of authority. If I was forced to be the person issuing punishment for bad behavior for a place when normally I get along with everyone great, I'd be pretty pissed off and depressed. Some people are not naturally equipped for certain roles, and they have the right to not want to be.
Same Randy! I had a notebook full of connections and side notes. There is an awesome extra on the Season 2 DVD set that is an interactive map of the whole connections between characters at that point.
I love that Lock had a convo with Hurley about doing jobs he didn't want to when it seems like they had the same boss at one point who was mean to them both.
I still love miles theory/suggestion right before the incident about the cause of the incident . Hahaha. I'm hoping this is confusing enough to not spoil anything.

I don't know exactly when Hugo won the lottery but Randy was working at the box company with Locke right before Locke went to Australia on his walkabout. So either he was working at both places or He went from Mr. Clucks to the Box Company. Maybe we works at the Box company and owns that Mr. Clucks. If there's more info later in the series I don't remember.
@@K-wars Yea, maybe there's a date stamp on the TV or in other places during Hugo's flashbacks. Also a bit of a spoiler, STOP READING, but ... I'm pretty sure we see randy working at Mr. Clucks again. Two different times. Unless it's just a joke in the background, I don't see why Randy would work at both those places unless he started at Clucks. Left to the box company. Then went back to Clucks. Maybe someone helping Hugo with his businesses likes Randy's cutthroat managing skills and gives him the box company job since Hugo owns both of them, then he gets fired or something and goes back to Clucks. I don't get why there is a question. Hurley wins the lottery, Randy is working at clucks. The meteor is soon after winning the lottery. A lot of time passes, and now he's working at box company (Locke's flashback is right before Australia).

Michelle Rodriguez plays the roles she is given well, but IMO she plays the exact same character in every show or movie. She is the tomboy/bully chick who kicks ass and if you're lucky will take your name. If you're not, she just wipes the floor with you. Ana Lucia infuriates me. We really see the difference in leadership between Jack & Ana Lucia. Jack is a leader but on the most part, people can do what they like, Jack makes the big decisions with the main characters. With Ana Lucia, its her way or no way, like with Sawyer (follow the rules or go in the pit). When I'm watching Lost, I try to imagine myself into the scene, and if I were with the Tailies, I would have so much pent up anger & aggression at Ana Lucia's leadership. I'd be such a negative person & I don't want sweet Bernard to see me like that. I know what happens for Ana Lucia to be acting this way, but none of the other Tailies have this much negativity. I would risk being alone on the Island than with them, if Ana Lucia would allow me to leave.
Smh none of the other Tailies do anything about her attitude or actions because they are allowing her to do it. Everything they have been through has lead them to letting Ana Lucia lead them in the extreme danger they have been in for almost 2 months.
