I just got one of these and it sure is yellowed the cone holder part is cracked. Glad you posted this! There’s no manuals baby lock has posted for this one.
I love all ur videos I just started fixing up machines, and I was so happy! I got a evolve! for cheap sounded horrible.. found the maintenance manual and now she is like new ❤ took me awhile to find out what was wrong
HI! I have a very similar machine from Baby lock, it's from about 1992 or so! I have the manual, but am unable to set the tensioning correctly and it's frustrating me! Do you have any tips for correctly tensioning the old babylock's (with differential) - no matter what tension settings I use (including the one advised on purchase), I end up with a mess at the backvand a lovely stitch at the front! HELP! PLEASE
HI there....I thread the machine with 4 different colors of thread. Then I adjust the color that needs to be adjusted. One of the most important things is to make sure that the thread is seated properly in the tension assembly. And the machine threaded properly. Getting to know your serger can be one of the most frustrating things to do. But once you do, they are a joy to use.
Hi, new to sewing. I see that "extra" thread in the tail you left, is that normal? Mine seems to have a loose thread like that but something about it doesn't seem right.
Yes. with a serger, you alwAYS want to leave a tail. That will keep the thread from unthreading from the needles and the loopers. after you run the fabric through, keep running it till you get a inch or two tail. IF you are having issues with tension, then your stitches wont be right. what i do, is thread with all different colors, so that I can determine which tension needs to be adjusted. Good luck
I no longer have this machine. There should be a threading guide inside the little door to the bottom right. If you need a manual, I can sell you a PDF copy for $15. Paypal. email me: Buzzsidds@gmail.com
I dont have access to this manual any longer. Lost files on old computer. You can purchase the ED manual here...the only difference is differential feed. www.sewingmachinemanual.com/babylock-model-bl-5360-ed-instruction-manual-pdf-down5360.html
It is tricky. First make sure you have the needle for this machine. Then you will need a tiny slotted screw driver. One screw for each needle. You don't have to back out all the way
hi! i found a working baby lock this exact model and I wanted to purchase it as my first machine. I'm incredibly new to sewing but do you think this machine may be too advanced for me? I do want something that is higher quality than the plastic brothers and such. What do you think? Thank you!!!
I recommend this machine. First thing you do, is buy needles for it. Replace the needles and keep spares. There is a threading guide. If you need the manual, I may have a pdf copy. I can sell to for a nominal cost of $5. The top body is plastic, but if I remember correctly, the insides are metal. That is what is important.
Hi@@tksewingmachineandrepair4243 I am interested purchasing a PDF copy for $5 from you too. I just purchased this same exact sewing machine and it is my first serger so I want to make sure I do everything right. Let me know how to purchase a copy from you if you still have the book saved. Thanks.
@@tksewingmachineandrepair4243 I am just looking this up today. I am also looking as a first time serger user or will be a first time serger user if I buy one. Is 100.00 a fair price for the model baby lock 5250?
@@grant7059 yes. Make sure you test it. At least make sure the feeddogs work. Anything other than the main gear assembly that runs the feeddogs is repairable. If they dont have a manual, you can download from babylock for free. Each serger takes its own size needles. You will want the manual to help you dial in tensions. Also, during this process, thread with different color threads. That way you can easily determine which one you need to adjust.
Great video. Thanks for sharing!👍 Were you able to find an exact fit for the foot? I have a 5180 and the foot broke. Can’t seem to find an exact fit and wondered if these vintage ones are compatible with a more modern Juki or other brand?
I have a BL5260 Serger, worked great until I broke the thread. I cleaned it and oiled it put in new needles. I threaded it and the left needle was not looping. Tried many times and followed the book and diagram on the door, with the same results. Took the machine outside and used the same strong light I used inside the house and found areas to thread that was not on the manual. O-K now ran the machine and both needles are chaining. Only thing I notice is the upper looper is not chaining now. Also seems like the manual is not really complete as to how to correctly thread this machine due to missing steps in the threading. Not missing any pages. I am still stuck without the upper looper not chaining now. I called Baby Lock to find out if there is another pamphlet that shows more clearly how to thread this machine. I was told they did have something in the past but not now. Do I even remember what I did to thread this machine? I do not think so. I am not the orginal owner and just do not know what to do. Do not live near baby lock.
What I have found is that Sergers of this era can be complicated. If you miss one step, or even thread out of order, it can cause problems. Unfortunately, I have changed computers. I really thought I had a PDF of this manual. Maybe I will find it.

Hey there. Thank you for the video. Could you kindly share what needle size you used for this machine?
How does this compare to the brother lock 1034dx, which I have.. trying to decide if it's worth it to buy for $85. Thank you!
I am not familiar with the Brother machine. However, Babylock machines are reknown for their sergers

There is definitely a learning curve. Yes. With 3 threads
Hello, could you please show me how to thread it? I haven't been doing yet. Please

I have the same serger, does this serger have differential feed? where did you get the manual from? thank you!
I found it on flicker. Just put it in your search: flicker baby lock 5260
Can I purchase the manual for the baby lock 5360E from you. Please and thank you.

Your vape looks an awful lot like mine. For a split second I was confused as to why my vape was sitting on your bench. 😂
That is hilarious!!!
How do you change the needle

Are you looking for the pressor foot? Or the pedal?
The presser foot.
I have a foot from another babylock. I know that some are interchangeable.
I have the same Serger but it ain’t locking sewing well, please how May I fix it?
I would thread it with 4 different colors of thread. Stitch. Then figure out which tension is off. Then adjust each one till it is perfect
@@tksewingmachineandrepair4243 Thank you 🙏🏽
Your upper looper isn’t reaching far enough to the left needle to pick the thread properly.
