    Hakeem Butler is essentially the perfect comp for him.
    I was extremely high on Hakeem Butler, and I've tried to limit that error going forward...
    6063 vs 6055
    231 vs 220
    35.375 arm vs 35.25 arm
    37 vert vs 36 vert
    1008 broad vs 1008 broad
    4.52 vs 4.48* 40(pro day time maybe?)
    4.11 vs 4.16 shoot shuttle...
    They are incredibly similar profiles. There are two things that give me a little more hope for Wilson... 11 pounds heavier and a 1.55 10 split(vs 1.59 for Hakeem). I think the lower 10 split means he can be faster off the line, combined with his additional height and weight to body up DBs... I also do agree, he's an ascending player- it's very clear he was improving as the year went on and I think that's worth gambling on in the late 2nd or later.

    • @o90201
      @o90201 8 месяцев назад +5

      He also has much better lateral agility than Butler. You can tell by his shuttle time, which was 88th percentile. Butler didn’t do agility tests for a reason.

    • @russ2120
      @russ2120 8 месяцев назад

      Agree 90% in that I do think he has a much more advanced release than Hakeem Butler, but I think it probably ends up in a similar place. There are so many good receivers in this draft that I don't understand the impulse to pursue a unicorn early. Generally, avoiding unicorns is a good strategy.

    • @kylegary6969
      @kylegary6969 8 месяцев назад

      His pro comp for me Is Mike Evans. Go look at the combine results and go look at Mike in college

    • @russ2120
      @russ2120 8 месяцев назад

      @@kylegary6969 That is a horrendous comp. Mike Evans is a big receiver, Johnny Wilson is a receiver who is big. Mike Evans caught 17 touchdowns his last year in college. Johnny Wilson caught 2. Mike Evans is dominant at the catch point at all levels of the field. Johnny Wilson lacks physicality, which is shocking given his size. He struggled to catch balls against Nate Wiggins whom he outweighs by 60 pounds. Johnny Wilson also didn't run agility drills for a reason. He will have a hard time separating apart from his decent releases off the line. Once he's in his route stem, he doesn't pull away from receivers often enough. Comparing him to a future hall of famer is delusional.
