you can buy a very close kit brewed by The Homebrew Challenge! He brewed a version of this recipe and made a video of it: ruclips.net/video/eSgylV7B7RE/видео.html

Love your videos and how you break down all the details. I am thinking of brewing a rye IPA very similar to this one but I am considering adding just a bit of smoke flavor using either peated malt or cherrywood smoked. Can you offer any suggestions for the smoke flavor or should I steer clear of that? Thanks so much

I'd skip the peated. it can be very harsh. Cherry or beech wood smoked malt is best, and freshest is best. not sure the smoke will go well with the hops though. Worth trying!

I skipped the smoked malt all together and just brewed your suggested recipe and it turned out absolutely amazing! Possibly the best brew I have done so far and my very first rye beer. I am a fan! Thank you for all you do@@MeanBrews

Matthew, were you happy with how your Rye IPA came out? Was there anything you would change?
I LOVE a rye IPA. I think they are a perfect balance of dry, malty, toffeish flavour and hops.
I think you used about 16% rye. Did you feel that that was enough, and was the beer the right darkness do you think?
This is going to be my next but one beer I brew. I have scaled it up to 7.5% abv, as I like that level for black or red(?) IPAs.
    Keep up the amazing work!

So you're dry hopping with a ~5 points to go for 3 days? That's a faster turn around than I usually do. How do you control Diacetyl?

Great info. I might have missed it on a previous episode but what formula are you using to calculate IBU Tinseth or what?
