- Benedetto Marcello is one of favorite composers of many cello students. Working on Marcello Adagio helps to improve cello sound, intonation and rhythm. It is published in Suzuki cello book 4. This video of B. Marcello Adagio from Cello Sonata No. 2 in E Minor for cello and piano Suzuki Book 4 by Marcello helps to learn cello in addition to taking cello lessons from a cello teacher.

The rhythm is probably the hardest thing about this piece, and this helps a lot, thanks!!
Absolutely agree - rhythm is hard to master in this piece. I glad this video helps.
yep, this piece is quite emotional, so you may abandone rhythm quickly. That's me at least :)
Mhm mmm, it’s hard to develop the rhythm.
Could not agree more
for some reason I am finding this piece impossible to count with the metronome :,) I’m glad I can just play along to this
Oh good, it is not just me
Same I cannot find a good tempo on the metronome
😅 same problem
Use 8 counts to a measure.
Thank you Maxim for always delivering perfection:). I hope you know how incredibly helpful you are to all of us 😊
Thank you, Diane!
Thank you this helped a lot. I am just starting this song because I finished sonata in c major. My teacher and I have to do remote teaching at the moment so this makes things a lot easier.
Glad to hear it. Stay safe!
That was my first solo and now I have this! We are like the same people!!
This is beautiful, I’m glad I listened to this because it helped me learn this.
💚 💜 Tysm this helped me a lot have a nice day whoever is reading this!! 🖤 💛

:0 he’s your teacher?
um
This recording really helped!!! Thank so much😃👍
I am enjoying trying to figure out how to make the wonderful sounds that this slow piece allows. The notes are easy but using the bow to make the cello sing and express is challenging. Thank you for the beautiful play through!
You're very welcome!
Ngl my private teacher helped me with the first 2 lines and told me to learn the whole quadrant at home. Needless to say this helped a lot.
Cool 😎 this is exactly how it works for a lot of cello students.
Thanks, really beautiful 🎉

My beloved composition from Benedetto Marcelo 😻💞💞😍
Thank you Master! 💖
Thank you so much Maxim, I love Marcello cello Sonatas. I would really appreciate it if you could pick two complete sonatas from Marcello and do the videos. I know you are busy however, so only if you get the time. It is very hard to find any Marcello sonatas for cello on you tube done the way you do videos. Yours are the best learning videos available.
Many thanks,
Perry

Hi Perry, here is a video of B.Marcello Sonata No.5 C Major ruclips.net/video/bADNxRoZwCE/видео.html
I am planning to record the rest of E minor sonata ( and possibly other sonatas)soon. Thank you for watching!
Thank you
You're very welcome!
Yes
weirdo
if you don’t mind me asking, how expensive was your cello and how long have you been playing?
((your cello sounds AMAZING, and i’m in the market))
Hello Alika, thank you so much for your kind words. I got this cello almost 20 years ago in Russia. I showed it to several prominent experts, but nobody can tell me who made it. Some suggested it was Italian, some that it was made in Germany, others told me it is has French origins. Back then I paid 4 months of my salary... It is really hard to decide how expensive a cello has to be. The good news is that you can always upgrade it in the future if your level goes up ( although I wish that good cellos would be far less expensive)
I am looking the third movement of this piece. Allegretto. Do you have the link of that video ?
Congrats on 4k!
Thank you so much
i’ve been trying to learn this piece for a while but i can’t figure out the bpm, does anybody know?
For my teacher he suggested to practice 1/8 notes at 50bpm
Donovan Beirne thanks! that helps a alot
Can you do one with both the adagio and allegro parts
I think he already did that
❤❤❤🇧🇷❤️❤️❤️🇧🇷❤️❤️❤️
um
This piece's rhythm makes no sense to me.
yeah same
