The cheapest at $500..good lord.. At 1.8 tho i see it worth every penny.. The quality and craftmanship of the lens.. Its a good all around lense and lightweight.. My 50mm 1.8 was great for all around lens.. I dig it
Hyun Ralph Jeong thanks for sharing! To butt into your conversation, i don’t think the hefty price is the focal length, but the IS that is included in the lens. Most 35mm and 50mm primes do not have IS (don’t know any that do actually for the Canon lineup), so my guess is the IS is what causes the price jump. If that’s the case, I’d say the extra money for Lens IS is most definitely worth it (I have coffee hands 😂).
This is the perfect set up for me, as I shoot quite a bit of street photography and I love 35mm focal length. When I get around to getting my RP, this is the way to go. Having said that, I already have the 35mm 1.4L which I love, so I'll probably just stick with that for a bit. Either that, or I'll get the EF35mm f2.0 IS USM which I previously owned but sold. The problem I can see with the RF lens, is that because it moves, it won't be as stealthy as the EF 35mm in close quarters.
Life & Times of a MultipleMediaManager™ I used to have the 1.4 and loved it but eventually sold it and got the 2.0 IS. I’ve been thinking about getting the 1.4 mark ii but not sure if it’s worth the cost. For me, the movement of the lens didn’t really bother me and when I was out with it, I didn’t even notice it but I can see it can be a problem in quiet environment
Yes. I shoot a lot of really close candids, and people would notice the lens moving as I focus on a packed train or bus. I guess you could pre-focus, but that's not how I generally work.
