  • For this episode, I will be cooking a popular dish that originated from the Ilocos region of the Philippines. DINENGDENG uses bagoong (anchovies) and simple vegetables, with squash being the most important vegetable ingredient. You can use any kind of fish that is available in your freezer. This recipe is one that you can try. Ask any Ilocano! Naimas!
    Ingredients:
    *Ginger
    *Onions
    *Garlic
    *Water
    *Bagoong Isda
    *Kalabasa
    *Ampalaya
    *Sitaw
    *Talong
    *Okra
    *Dahon ng Saluyot
    *Fish
    *Salt
    *Pepper
    Recipe:
    Step 1 - Season fish with salt and pepper.
    Step 2 - Prepare the vegetable ingredients.
    Step 3 - Fry fish until crisp. Set aside.
    Step 4 - In a deep pot with water, add ginger, onions, garlic, bagoong isda, calabash, ampalaya, sitaw, talong, and okra.
    Step 5 - Season with pepper. Cover and let cook.
    Step 6 - Put in the fried fish for a few seconds to add more taste to the broth. Then, remove it from the pot.
    Step 7 - Let the pot boil. Then, add the dahon ng saluyot. Cover and let simmer.
