Ben is a beast when it comes to tie-ups on the ground. He can really scramble and he wrestle like no one I have ever seen. We will always remember you ben =)

Very high wrestling IQ, frequently sets opponents up for consecutive scoring..master of transitioning and countering by setting traps that favor his strengths of back door-ing opponents or pinning them. He will trick opponents into thinking he is exposed or vulnerable...then counter it and seize a dominant position. His strength is deception.
Jeff Monson also holds a black belt in BJJ and Mark Kerr has trained in submission fighting extensively. If Askren trains submission wrestling more, he will undoubtedly be able to do well in the ADCC, but I wouldn't expect him to do anything stellar with his wrestling skills alone.
Good to know someone appreciates him, becuase in mma, he is unwelcome, and I am one of the people who think Ben shold just stop trying, he is INSANELY boring
Wrestling, BJJ or whatever is all grappling. The best guys in the world in MMA have an all around good grappling game with great wrestling and Bjj. The people who think their one art is all you need whether it's wrestling or Bjj will eventually get beat by an all around better wrestler. I wish more people from both sports were more open to learning the other.

actually its the other way round, for every person who loves his style, 10 people hate him. Heck I am a grappler and I hate him, he is boring and is doing what fighters like jon fitch do which is bleed the sport dry, get everything from it but never give and never really tries to be a mixed martial artist either, while his wrestling is great that is all he really has, its not a martial art just a tool for other martial arts and never finishes because of it.

Yes he is great in WRESTLING but fighting, not at all. I can't complain if I watch him in amature wrestling, but in mma where the objective is to punch, kick or get your opponant in a submission hold, Ben is just dull. There are wrestlers who are fun, Hendo is a good example, but people who use wrestling as their primarly 'martial art' will always be boring, wrestling is a tool, not a martial art and some people in mma need to remember this

Its about riding out rounds in mma and I searched the fighters you are on about Daniel Straus barely finishes and Alvin Robinson has a serious problem with sub defence and honestly Royce is not the be all end all in BJJ, he was good at his time because no one knew BJJ, thats Royce in a nutshell in todays standards he is just adverage.
Sorry for late reply, but anyway have you seen vids of Ben vsing good BJJ guys in pure grappling? He gets WRECKED. MMA is a good test for martial arts but it has a big problem with point fighters. Come on man, Dan Severn, Matt Hughes, Frankie Edgar, these are wrestlers worth mentioning, not you. I hope you do well and get in the UFC, I think someone like Rory would be proud to show you what MMA is.
@Ryan John well im from Missouri n i have kept up with ben, tyron, and Michael chandler since they were at mizzou n I've always said ben n chandler were the two best fighters never to grace the ufc. Besides prime fedor of course lol... But even the ww champ t wood will tell u ben is the on a whole diff level... The only person who can compete with askren p4p in grappling is khabib n romero if his cardio is there... I don't wanna see khabib vs askren cuz i don't want to see either lose lol, both will beat any other fighter even close to their weight... The wrestling mentality n techniques of each are untouchable... Plus they have VERY similar styles WITH MMA GRAPPLING... Just beautiful to watch

What's interesting about Askren is how lazy he appears to move at first glance...but he's not lazy he's very calculating and methodical :)
