I just lost my Mama to covid this past Thanksgiving😭and this was her song. I played it for her over the phone wish she was paralyzed on the ventilator. We couldn't go see her because of covid I was without my mama for 22 days and came back to get her body... and even though I was devastated beyond words I could hear my mom sweet voice singing it is Well with My Soul🕊

She was a woman constantly on the go but she was hindered by a bad hip then swiftly taken from us by cancer. I take comfort in knowing in heaven, she can serve God in a new way. I just learned the history of this song today. Apparently, a wealthy business man that owned a lot of property lost much of his wealth when a fire broke out in Chicago and burned down his land. He then was offered to sing at a campaign oversees and when heading off he found he had to take care of some last minute business regarding the fire destruction and he sent his 4 daughters and wife ahead of him. During which he received a telegram that the ship with his 4 children had collided when another and all 4 of his children died with his wife the only survivor. He then immediately headed over to England and when the ship got to the place where his daughters where lost the captain called him and then he went to his room and this song was written. Now the song has even more profound meaning!!
One day towards my wedding day I was droning sweft away by river waters but miraculous found my self on the other side of the river singing these wonderful hymn I surely believe it's God angels who took me out.

This is one of the best versions of this beautiful hymn that I have found. It is more clear and easy for those who are still learning the song when it is a solo artist instead of a choir. Nothing wrong with singing as a choir, it's just easier sometimes to hear it clearly with just one person singing. Today, 7/30/2023, I am sharing this mix of songs to help walk my dear friend Patty, who is currently in hospice, as we await the Lord's will to be accomplished in this difficult place in her life's journey. I just found out my mom has cancer, and it’s taking me a while to accept that because she’s my best friend. I lost a church family member her name was Mrs Gina she had cancer and I barely got to say goodbye to her we played this song at her celebration of life and we had pictures of her in the screen and it made me cry when I heard this song she was Like a mom to me and she will always be remembered when I listen to this song 😓

I lost my oldest brother at the age of 50 on January 9th. Placed my mom in memory care yesterday. Didn't know Dad much growing up, but he is in a nursing home with dementia due to strokes. I feel like I have a missing place in my heart. And I'm walking around in a daze. I don't understand God's plan right now, but I know he has one. I'm just really sad right now.

Was my wifes favorite hymn. She died last December. I never knew meaning until i heard it in mercy me song Even If. Looked it up. My wife lost 2 sisters, 2 grandchildren and her mother. Ive lost 2 wives to cancer, 2 grandchildren, a brother and sister last year and my dad is 92 and going fast. It is well.

This is one of the best versions of this beautiful hymn that I have found. It is more clear and easy for those who are still learning the song when it is a solo artist instead of a choir. Nothing wrong with singing as a choir, it's just easier sometimes to hear it clearly with just one person singing. No matter if His will is do use her life as a miracle to those who know her and those who are attending to her needs right now, or if His will to take her home to be with Him, I am praying that she can say "IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL"!!! I just found out my mom has cancer, and it’s taking me a while to accept that because she’s my best friend. But I’ve got to remember that it is well with my soul bc I will see her again if something were to happen. I’ve always loved this song and I feel like it was God preparing me for this day. We don’t know how bad the cancer is but it’s still hard knowing I could loose her.

Unfortunitly this singer has a very weak version of one of the greatest spiritual songs.
The gentleman in my church who sings this hymm captures the wholy holy presences of our almighty God . The two thousand congregants are washed in the holy spirit. We remember we are renewed and we are healed . Such a mighty mighty presence to bare witiness.
