→ For reference, I'm 5'3 or 160cm in height. I wear an AU6 for tops and I'm in between AU6 - 8 for bottoms. For US sizing, I'm a 0 for tops (one size down from AU size). I'm an US size 2 for bottoms and a W26 in most Levi Jeans.
    DISSH Clothing Links & Sizing
    BROOKLYN White Skort AU8 bit.ly/3RSdPBw
→ US4, I'm in between sizes and sized up. If in doubt size up as more room around hip makes this skort more comfortable and you can always belt it
    ISSEY taupe skort AU8 bit.ly/3zAuXoM
→ US4, I'm in between sizes and sized up
    SANDER pant AU8 bit.ly/3W4Hc68
→ US4, I'm in between sizes and sized up, fits a bit loose, would recommend going for true size or smaller size (if in between)
ELENA black cream mini dress AU6 bit.ly/3xCYduI
→ US2, fits true to size. Size up if you have a larger chest
BLOOM knitted vest with buttons XS bit.ly/4cngzij
→ XS, fits true to size for a relaxed boxy look
TALI cupro flowy pants AU6 bit.ly/4cniZ0i
→ US2, shortened to fit. I'm in between sizes and sized down
    LEVI grey cardigan XS bit.ly/3zxvQ1o
→ Fits true to size for a slightly boxy look
    MARLOWE boucle vest XS bit.ly/4eKMA5p
→ Fits true to size for relaxed boxy silhouette
EVA white linen skort AU8 bit.ly/3zqPtbF
→ US4, In between sizes and sized up. If in doubt, size up as this will make it more comfortable and you can always belt it
SOPHIE white strapless dress AU6 bit.ly/4cMc157
→ US2, Fits too small on me in the bodice. I HIGHLY recommend taking 1 size up.
KERRY off shoulder top XS bit.ly/463wOit
→ Fits relaxed. I recommend your usual size.
GINA white linen pants AU6 bit.ly/4eE7PGl
→ US2, I should have sized up to US4. Take 1 size up as waist elastic is quite tight and hip is on slim side
ALESSIA white linen vest AU6 bit.ly/3xF87Mf
→ US2, fits true to size
    SIGNATURE stripe top XS bit.ly/45IRjRj
→ Opted for usual size for a relaxed oversized fit

It's so hard to find channels that keep it honest. I really appreciate your reviews!

Been looking forward to this review because I feel like I *should* like Dissh because I love easy linen clothing, but every time I look at their website, I'm underwhelmed. Btw, would love an Everlane review from you, you mentioned their pants are good quality and would be great to hear more of your thoughts.

Enjoyed your thorough and honest review!
I'm from Singapore where many 2010s-blogshop-turned-physical-clothing-store are thriving these days. The price point ranges the equivalent of AUD 40-100 and fabric composition seem similar to DISSH. Now that I'm in my late 20s and picky on my wardrobe curation, these kind of pieces no longer appeal to me. The stitching, shape, and longevity don't seem to last through seasons though the occasional influencer sponsored ad make it tempting.

I love the white skort on you regardless of the composition of the fabric. It's very flattering on you.

The print not matching in the back of the grey striped pants is such a no go

After watching this review I'm so glad I bought my Dissh pieces secondhand! I have a short sleeved, cream tencel blend button up shirt and I'm super happy with it. I paid $30 NZD at a designer consignment store for it, and while there was some loose stitches in the interior (just untidy finishing, nothing some scissors can't fix) I love the fabric covered buttons and it's drape.
The second piece I bought off marketplace are 100% brown linen bermuda shorts for $38 NZD. They are unlined, felt softer after a wash but my biggest bug bear is the faux pockets.
Needless to say, after watching this review I'm never going to pay full price for a piece but will to continue to hunt for narural fibre dissh pieces secondhand to try. Good but not a great brand I reckon!

Fast fashion at high prices. The fabric choices tell me these clothes aren’t designed to last more than a few washes before they start looking worn and not their best. Dry clean only polyester is a joke. Especially in white!

Ok maybe their dresses are worth a look, linen summer dresses are so easy to wear!

Thanks for mentioning where a brand is shipping from, it really affects the prices, what with the tariffs and, often, extra shipping and return charges. I always look at that, in addition to the brand’s overall, but mostly, fabric quality - the most important consideration to me. I can’t wear any synthetics, which already limits my choices to the Premium High Street price level and up. Price is the least important factor to me, but I can’t completely disregard it, either. I have a generous, but not unlimited, wardrobe budget.

I’m always so tempted by Dissh. I did cave and invest in a black skort this fall and I have no regrets! But I do think it’s an ideal brand for staple pieces, the white one is now on my wish list! I don’t know if you’ve ever considered doing an “alternative to”/dupe style video? I love your style and trust your opinion so much!

Hi Helen, would you be able to share where you got your black belt + black mules? They seem like such great staples together :)

I gave up on skorts last time around, 20 or 25 years ago when they were in style, because of the nylon or polyester panties inside. Often the outer fabric was nylon, too, double trouble. I am finding better, natural-fiber, breathable fabric options this time they are trending, thank goodness.

Helen, it seems to me you would like styles like Muji offers but I don’t really see anything from that retailer in your wardrobe and I was curious why. Anyways, what do you think about Muji brand clothes? Thanks!

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  4 дня назад +6

I LOVE Muji clothes :) the quality is so great and I love how affordable they keep everything. I do own some great staples from them but tbh I’ve never seen them again online or in store so sometimes it feels pointless to show as it’s no longer available. But could definitely talk more about them if you’re interested in a review ❤

I do love muji styles too and shop from them from time to time. Yes, I you could share some review, it’s always good to see how you styles muji items, for an inspiration you know. Thanks!

i got a dress from dissh and i was SO disappointed with the material! for the amount you pay it’s crazy to me that they would use such a terrible itchy material 😅 i also have some skepticism around doen for the same reason. when i look at some of their pieces that cost $200 and the material is synthetic i am like ?!?!?!?!?!

  • @japoemka

I would not pay around $90 for a polyester skirt.... or anything polyester really (paybe a pleated skirt)

I find DISSH to be kinda distasteful almost. I can't say that I want to spend money on brands that offer heavy promotion with influencers the way they do

I appreciate your content, you explain the impact of the smallest details so well. I would also love if you could leave some room between the sentences. You have edited out every single pause and it feels like there is no room to take a breath, both literally and figuratively. If ylu left the natural pauses in speech, we as viewers would have more time to digest what you say.
