Hoe vaker ik luister en kijk, des te meer bewondering, wat laat je dit orgel horen in al zijn facetten! Nog steeds zwaar onder de indruk.
Bijzonder groot compliment voor de aan de registranten!!!!
Kom dit stuk nu voor het eerst tegen, maar wat geweldig zeg. Hoe vaker je er naar luistert, hoe mooier die wordt. Wat een kunstenaar is hij toch. Ook een duimpje omhoog voor de registranten, die hebben het er maar druk mee.
What a great job. You know it was about 110 years ago when the public's thirst for this type of music led to the development of the romantic organ made so famous by E.M. Skinner. Nothing wrong with the transcriptions. The problem lay in the change of the tonal structure of organs from the classical harmonic development to organs with only 8' and 4' pitches on the manuals and powerful Pedlas. Not that there is aything wrong with that. Now we see these transcriptions can be played on classical instruments - big ones anyway, and come out with rewarding results. Of course, we must acknowledge the efforts of the transcriber to embody the essence of the orchestral arrangements. It certainly has been well presented here. Powerful, delicate, moving with all the little notes where they should be. One had to wonder how the old tracker systems all mechanically coupled, can take the shock of hitting those keys. Boy that is a heavy tremulant. on the 3rd manual. What a nice job. Absolutely fantastic. Beautiful organ, simple yet elegant case. Damn, that's nicely done.
Who needs orchestras! I love the passion in your playing, Marco, and listening to you has helped me a lot as an organist to play with more 'life'.

C'est fantastique j'ai l'impression de revoir Pierre Cochereau et même de l'entendre Marco est un très grand organiste vraiment je vous l'assure ce qu'il fait à l'orgue phénoménal il élargit tous les répertoire pour l'orgue c'est fabuleux il il faudrait absolument en France car nous avons besoin de son l'enthousiasme et de sa fougue qui nous emporte comme le le faisait Pierre Cochereau à Notre Dame de Paris. WOUW, WOUW wat een onwijs mooi en gaaf stuk! Vooral het Zwelwerk gecombineerd met het hoofdwerk! zo hoor je eens een andere kan van de Batz orgel. Wist nog geen eens dat de dom orgel een zwelwerk had, maar het bewijs heb ik gezien en gehoord! En de zweerlicht wat er was maakte de muziek stuk mooier! KLASSE!!!

C'est ça la musique d'orgue symphonique uniquement que ça jouer toutes les œuvre instrumentale quelle qu'elle soit c'est ce que je t'avais demandé Mozart, Jean-Sébastien Bach, et tous les romantiques. La musique d'orgue romantique symphonique et poste symphonie c'est cela et Marco est en train de la remettre au goût du jour avec un brio hors pair c'est superbe et ça doit être très difficile à jouer pour devenir l'homme orchestre de l'orgue Philippe Dubois

To the editor's of the video: Well done for an excellent job, showing us both the performance and giving us some impression of the building and what it was like to be there in person.
But I would prefer not to have the introductory titles and final credits shown over the performance itself. It seems to diminish it to the role of 'background music.'

. En hier ook het orgel "bij de Kladden gepakt" zoals Feike Asma dat zo mooi kon zeggen. De filmer hoeft van mij niet uitstapjes te maken zoals het naamplaatje filmen, jammer laat gewoon de actie zien. En ook geen kerkruimte, de speler tonen, simpel. Wel vanuit alle mogelijke hoeken en standen... Dat gebeurt gelukkig ook veel. Goed gedaan.
En van zijn helpers doen ( gekkenwerk) snel en doeltreffend Heel leuk om te zien
Nou zon kerk vind ik ook wel prachtig om erbij te zien.

I really like the combination action. It must be hell for the action to move yards of draw-knobs in and out like that. COmplete with two systems, one for each side. Love the reduction in stops - de-crescendo I guess around 12:00. More churches should have reliable systems like this. I wonder how much they cost.
at that specific moment the organist only switches from first to third manual. the two systems you speak about, are actually one system. the upper row of stops (on each side) is for third manual, one down is for second, beneath that for pedal, and the lower row is for the first manual. so regarding the decrescendo: it costs nothing, only human effort;)

Belle performance et l'orgue "sonne particulièrement bien malgré l'acoustique parfois un peu trop généreuse,les "jeux" sont splendides et bravo aux hommes qui "tirent ou repoussent les jeux,véritables acolytes !!!

TO McDouglas Kim: this is not a baroque organ, but a an early romantic, late rococo organ, with older pipework retained.
I am not totally convinced by the translation from orchestra to organ for this work; perhaps the problem is with the organ not being quite romantic enough. The mixtures are quite screaming (indeed baroque like) which makes the music sound thin and harsh, instead of warm and lush and grand. But then again, a youtube video isn't quite the same as being there in person.
I was there in person, and it was sublime. And indeed better than the RUclips video.
Ik heb het vaak geïnterpreteerd als een mild-barok orgel, en niet romantisch. Écht romantische orgels zoals Frans-romantisch en Duits-romantisch zijn volgens mij beduidend anders.
For me is the opposite, I love the Organ version
