Haha yep! It now seems to be a 3-question issue: (1) What size / weight are we willing to put up with (2) What creative look are we going after and (3) How much light do we have to work with
@@MarkReese 24-70 2.8 and the 70-200 2.8 are still super good super safe pro options. The f2 zooms like this seem like dentist lenses to me. Lenses for collectors. No problem if that's what you want. A pro will have the zooms and then maybe add a prime.
@@texmex9721 - Haha I'm no lens collector. But I am a pro sports photographer, and the difference from f/2.8 to f/2.0 is a full stop. If that means being able to shoot at ISO 6,400 instead of 12,800 in some dark gyms, then that's a huge advantage. If light isn't the issue, then the next consideration is the degree of background blur & quality of the bokeh. For that, an f/2.0 is better than f/2.8, but not a world-changing difference to my eyes. I'd say a 2-stop difference is needed for a dramatic improvement in background blur. That's where those f/1.4 primes come into play.

After seeing them replacing the EF 300mm f/2.8 with an RF 100-300 f/2.8, I thought it would be cool to see them replace the 200mm f/2 with a 100-200 f/2
If it's not too heavy / handhold-able for a full sporting event, then I could be interested (though a 1st-party 35-150mm f/2-2.8 that can AF while zooming might be better)👊
@@Robert_Gonzales - Totally get that, and there's huge value with a constant f/2 when working in low light and/or to blow out the backgrounds more. You'll be surprised, but they had the capability to make these lenses long time ago. They just re released lenses for the mirrorless mounts first and milked that, then they are going to make all the lenses they couldve made back in the DSLR era
If this first lens of the LAB series lands well with pro and semi-pro photographers, they'll gonna bombard the market with highest tier lenses for all major camera manufacturers pretty soon. Not sure if I should look forward to or be afraid of that.
Both Canon lenses would be sweet, but you'd need Hulk Hogan guns in his prime to hold up both of those Canon lenses and cameras for the day! You're about half way there, Jared :) (oh, and a deep bank account too!)
I could still cancel my 70-200 f2.8 and I want to prioritize portrait photography so what do you all say? Do I wait for the 70-150 f2? Money is not the problem. Any advice would be great.
You can get the 70-200 f/2.8 now and sell it later when the 70-150 f/2 comes out if money isn't the problem. Because you don't know when it is releasing(if it is releasing at all) and you don't know how long you will have to wait. Or get a used 70-200 2.8 and save some money now and you can sell it in few months without losing a lot of money.
You're contemplating forgoing a lens that does exist for one that does not exist? Its not even officially announced. So I guess the question is, how long can you go without the lens you intended to get? It could be that the 70-150mm F2 never exist, a lot of these patents never become anything else. A 70-150mm f/2 would have a front element of 75mm which is only slightly bigger than a 70-200mm f/2.8's 71.5mm so only very slightly bigger and heavier and might not be much more expensive either. The Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM Z lens has a 82mm filter size so this 70-150mm f/2 might fit the same housing anyway and they could make it another matching Z lens. Jared no fro knows? lol
lol he said double fisting..
To say I’m disappointed in the Z50ii isn’t enough. Honestly might be my last straw with Nikon. Been wanting something better to replace my two z30’s and hopefully get 4k60 and / or raw video… but not with a crop wtf is that garbage? If I wanted M4/3 sensor I’d just get that
THE FRO IS GETTING SMALLER!!!
He just moused it or is it moussed it!
Used nikon d500 cost $800 why the fuck would you buy a used d500 when now z50 ii excist
Wow what an ass 🤣🤣🤣 you realize you just pitched that one right over the plate. An RF 70-150mm f2.0 wont be affordable in Canada without taking out a mortgage on your house😭
$5k

To much MUHLA for my budget.
Useless. Too big. Too heavy. Too expensive. This is typical of a camera maker that has camera jpegs at 72 dpi….vomit
Wooohooo first view
you still have so much echo in your sound - spend the few bucks I'm sure you can spare and get it sorted already - yelling aint fix for proper sound treatment
Or just buy the 35/150.
