I bought some black paper a while ago and I haven’t used it yet because none of the pens I thought would show up on it don’t. I never even thought of using gouache on it! I’ll have to try it.
There's something so satisfying by drawing on darker paper. To start with the "light" as a shadow and wht not. I own like brown sketch paper and I love to use white pencils on there, I am sure I would love this too!
I love it! It’s inspired me to try an idea too. I haven’t tried black water colour paper but I have done black paper and painted with acrylic paint. I did two colourful macaws and lots of jungle type greenery around them. I am thrilled with my result. Now I think I want to try gouache.

The same as posca pens but over here cheaper. Currently experimenting with using acrylic paint with oil pastels or acrylic ink splatters. This week I started 7 different paintings, and haven’t finished 1 of those
i just got an oil paint set an im in love with the medium i feel like i have finally found something in the form of traditional painting that i feel motivated and excited to work with only just as i leave university at age 22 haha

I hope to turn some of the sheets into surfaces for pastel paintings, I also plan to use iridescent watercolor paints with the black paper. Hey Mira!! Here’s a new video idea or somthing fun to do in your free time, take a notebook and a bunch of pictures for painting ideas or Somthing that inspires you. Next take your pictures and glue them in the notebook, you can use a punch of cool stuff to decorate the page(I use mini washi tape from the dollar store 😂) at the end it is so cool to look though and you have a bunch of painting ideas laid out for you!!

That fireplace painting is adorable and perfect in that gold frame! I am totally with you on this 'gold' fixation. I'm obsessed with those DecoColor markers and I had to get a giant tube of acrylic gold as well. I'm trying not to go overboard and use it only as embellishments. So fun. BTW, my husband got me that same zipper bag of Posca pens for my birthday recently. Can't wait to dive into those! P.S. You're awesome, too :D

I first got black art paper a few months ago and just got a new pad from a holiday gift. Neon. Use neon colors. They really pop against the dark.
