i honestly don't know because POE is about as confusing as it is fun to play. What does 'uncapped' mean? Is this equivalent to 'overcapped'?! Or does it actually mean that your resistance CANNOT be capped? As in, you HAVE to be below your maximum resistance? Eg your fire resist cap is 80% and you have 77% actual res.

Overcapped is the left over above your maximum resistance. I.e.: If your character stats says: 75% (95%), 95% is your uncapped res and your overcapped res is 20%.

Going from 172 DPS to that massive damage is a feat in of itself. Just having 172 DPS in a party is pretty impressive especially with all that "support" xD

I see no reason to remove this, its an STD item and unless he was planning to make this build go into the hall of grandmasters, it should not affect anything. STD is a magical place where the limits of all limits are allowed to be pushed and I firmly believe it should stay that way. Its one of the reason if not the main reasons why STD is its on thing and not just a glorified garbage space to simply put your old league memorabilia at.
any modern computer system can go above 2.1b easily, i doubt PoE is limited by 2.1b and PoB definitely isn't. Its been well over 2 decades since we were limited by signed intergers, that's the limit of 32 bit data and most systems are 64 bit so yeah, that's 9x10^19 integers, compared to 2x10^9 for 2.1 billion. And if somehow your program is expected to go above 19 digits, you just cull off the last few digits and replace it with scientific notation which means you can have infinite numbers, with an accuracy of 19 digits. Like open PoB and type in something like 10000000000000000000000000% more damage, it just moves to scientific notation displaying the first 19 digits. Most programming languages will do this automatically for you, but in the case it doesn't it's super easy to add in an exception to handle it

It's not the first such item observed. There have been some server errors which caused abnormally large rolls before. Such errors can happen for a number of reasons, bit flips, database sync errors, human error by GGG staff, etc. Some of these errors go unnoticed for a long time if those whom they affected don't notice or make sure to say nothing about to anyone like DrStein here.
Chris explained that when these type of bugged items started to spawn 5-6 years ago. There was some kind of issue with saving items on a server which sometimes krangled some of them. It was something alongside 1 in a bilion rare, but it happened. There was some other items like that as well like rare flasks.
I wish they wouldn't remove/fix gear like this, but instead give it something like "requires level 101" or some other way it can't be used anymore, but still just exists,
That mod can only appear on a grasping mail and you can't craft for it, they transferred it to another base by using recombinators from Sentinel league.

I heard as long as you have a character wearing that chest your fire resist are capped in PoE 2
WIth the new changes in the league, this could probably be a bigger number, as they have some nice buffs in there for armor stacking

The Formless Flame helmet has the armour increased by overcapped fire mod, so no need to get it on the body armour.
