34:20 if you haven't found out already, i think the cursive is supposed to say "I've "frozen" myself", the space between "froz" and "en" kinda makes it look like it's two separate words and some of the letters (f r and z specifically) are written a bit less neat than what's taught so it's easy to misread if you're not super familiar with cursive.
For my spoiler intro, just found out Sagean Hawkes released a video on that ARG and so did another creator, so mad I couldn’t beat em to it. Oh well

is it just a pet peeve for me or does anyone else agree that little things like the glitch effects not looking at all like computer glitches and instead being obviously added in post really throws you out of it? lol that in addition to the caretaker song totally broke any immersion i couldve ever had
I probably shouldn't have attempted that on the first two video, but they are satire, I mentioned it in a community post, I loved the video mush made on MMBAH but there is still a lot of symbolism and plot point that he missed, so some element seem to not make sense
@@MeMyBrotherAndHim the plot makes sense to me just fine personally, but the glitch effects and such are pretty consistently weak through the rest of the videos and the presentation on the non-minecraft bits is pretty weak, things like the transhumanism tape being literally just a single digital font on a single colored screen made it feel extremely barebones when i think args thrive largely on making you feel the reality theyre constructing - not to mention ending it off by literally spelling out what you're supposed to take away from it in the descriptions is like, lame as hell, there's no room to actually interpret anything on a higher level than the literal and to me it surely feels like you didn't have interest in exploring the implications the literal story might have
Makes it funnier when you know that they're using the Colour Glitch transition from CapCut.
@@doomer17o We are using sony vegas, transition are created by us from the ground up, also like I previously said @undertouch, a lot of lore was missed, if you do not think the story make sense, I advise you investigate yourself, I already previously wrote comment about this subject, you're only source of explanation is this great video that Mush made, but in the ARG genre please do not take everything that youtubers say at face value, the point of making an arg is telling a story indirectly, in other word, people will not always piece everything together correctly. Of couse a lot of thing that Mush said are correct, but some are also misinterpretation, so please by all means, investigate yourself.

this ARG was so disappointing. It could've been such an incredible symbolism and story about abuse, about how Fred creating a split personality and pretending to be playing with his kids in minecraft as a coping mechanism for what he did to his kids. But nope. It's just yet another sci-fi-esque, possession, "oh everything was a simulation wow!", "kids souls being put into a game oo scawy". It was genuinely eerie how mysterious the first few videos were, but man...
I hope the whole "possession" and the whole corporation and "science" thing is one big metaphor. It's so well made, so i still quite enjoy it. But still, i have some gripes about this ARG.
Tackling serious topics like child abuse while using Sci-fi concepts is incredibly iffy and in a lot of cases just shouldnt be attempted. In other cases, the serious topic the series mentions feel more like it was tacked on for shock value or to make it look more interesting than it is as opposed to actually saying something about the topic, which is what I feel this series falls into (doesn't mean it is true, that's just what it feels like to me). It couldve definitely done without it imo but it's still well made
There is no kids soul in a game, there is no simulation either, a lot of lore was missed, but I still loved the video Mush The Skeleton made, he did put the effort which makes me happy
@@MeMyBrotherAndHim Its the man himself! Please don't take it the wrong way, i do like your videos a lot, its genuinely well made, and i'm sorry for misunderstanding the story. It's sometimes tiring seeing the same tropes over and over again, especially in a market as saturated as horror nowadays. I've also only watched a few videos of yours and Mush's video, as i don't have a lot of time to spare, so i apologize.
Again, no hate. Just a few of my problems with the story!

@@MeMyBrotherAndHim I just now noticed your comment here. I had figured I missed a lot of stuff considering the investigators themselves also missed a lot of details when I was helping out. So I guess your ARG has some secrets and stuff we didn't find, if that's the case I may have to tell Deshy and let them know that we missed a bunch of stuff.
ARG recommendation: Friends Not Found. There’s a thread on it in the mystery discussion channel in the Retro Gaming Now server, and you can actually see it in this video. Also great video! This was a very creepy ARG too

The whole "you, me, him" convention when writing in the book and quill is cringe inducing. It feels like an edgy teen trying to play around with perspective. I don't mind that they're toying with who's in control or which perspective is which, but there are definitely more effective ways to do that.
I don't know if anyone saw the text at 26:59 but it basically said that: the map was a single play world, asking who's he talking to, its really hard to catch, and it just supports the fact that Fred is hallusinating about j being there

Why do Minecraft ARGs keep *almost* being cool but then just falling completely flat towards the middle/end
I would say that most of them start off with an idea that would work within the scope of minecraft, but then they build on that idea in a way that most people find impossible, or just doesn't generally fit the scope of the medium. a good ARG would probably keep the mysterious portion going for along time, and try never to dip into the existential, or world ending/conspiracy stuff. a good rule of thumb is when you are a new writer in any medium, keep your stories small. have a narrow focus, and stick as close to that narrow focus as possible.
if you have a stalker in your stories: try making it an IRL stalker, not an evil corrupted soul. it takes a lot less work to make them a tangible threat if they an ACTUAL creep harassing the MC. especially in minecraft avoid cosmic, eldritch, or grand conspiracy because your skill as a writer will get exposed very quickly.
@@paranoidgaming4316 The thing about cosmic and eldritch horrors is that they CAN work....sometimes.
You have to base your story around the horror, you can't just have it as a plot point otherwise it won't work. Eldritch horrors really need their own story and their own world built around it rather than it existing as part of an existing properity [EX: Minecraft]
2nd thing is an Eldritch Horror NEEDS to represent...something. This isn't really neccessary in fear factor but it does make them more intresting to observe and read about. These can be as...simple as evil, to a manifistation of someone's depression in their own mind.
Because they stop being Minecraft ARGs and then become some weird IRL sci-fi or action movie BS at some point.

I haven't watched the entire video so i don't know if he ever mentions it but i was able to decode the binary codes on the signs in the first video, it says "father, what are we?" (It was an effing pain to decode this thing)
i wasn't expecting much when i started this video but i actually really liked this ARG. i thought it was pretty compelling and cool. i hope a more comprehensive compilation of the full story with all the correct details comes out some day, i would love to know more about it (this isn't a dig at the investigation team and it's especially not a dig at this video, i just saw that the creator said there was a lot of missing/incorrect details)

I don't disagree with your sentiment. Obviously mental health awareness should be normalized. I just hate everything in your language that you used to get said sentiment across. "How about we don't do obviously bad thing m'kay? That would be a little neat imho" implies a sort of "look at how aware of the issue and morally justified I am. aren't I so cool" vibe that I don't appreciate.
Still, you are right. It needs to be said by more people. Just, not like that. I suggest "Stop stigmatizing narcissism as a diagnosable disorder with treatment options." or even "We should stop" as a replacement. Less "I think, look at me" and more "You should, look at yourself" which then speaks less on why you're so awesome for saying something that isn't particularly praise worthy so much as it is a basic step of mental health awareness.
It's good that you're aware of that basic step, but it's a little indecent to want brownie points because of it. And there's always the benefit of the doubt that that wasn't your intention. However, it certainly reads like that. So in the future if you intend to just say something without drawing attention to your character as a person, then the suggested phrasing is the one that will get that across. But like, I'm just some depressed autistic on the internet so who really cares what I have to input on the conversation?

This ARG was pretty meh, outside of the interesting tranhumanist thing but i really wish it didnt go this sci fo route and instead the abusive dad route with his kids that it seemed to have going for it. However i do have an analog horror recommendation! Its still up and.coming and its not Minecraft related. Its by Siltrics and theyre making a DC universe analog horror so far only a.few Batman videos and a Superman video is up

@testerwulf3357 People missing and misinterpreting ARG's is beginning to infuriate me. I feel like sometimes people's first look isn't thorough enough and then they think they saw everything and never go back. Then new people come in and see the information others saw and stick to that without their own thorough look. And some ARG creators seem to dm some members just to keep stuff going when they don't deserve the clues they didn't properly find. It's a shame.
