My mother wore her hair in the same style as the second female contestant until the early 1980s when we convinced her to grow it longer. She kept it chin length until her death.
Amanda Blake seemed pleasant and tried well during the regular portion of the games but was not good at the Lightning Rounds. More like "Deer-caught-in-the-headlights" round. Ray Bolger did well. Not everyone goes fishing, but most everyone in America at that time had seen a Football game, whether Pop Warner, Jr. High / High School, College or the pro teams. For the P-W "Tackle" I would have said: "Football", "Position", "Stop". I wish the CC was available. Many mumbles, slurred words or too quiet.
I watched A lot of these passwords shows...some contestants and celebrities made a lot of hand gestures and facial gestures I thought you were not suppose to do that. I Guess I could be wrong
Ray Bolger was the scarecrow "Wizard of Oz". Gunsmoke came on Monday after a long run on Saturday. They dropped Chester and got Festus. Amanda Blake looked better on Password than Gunsmoke!!
it is very irritating when ludden allows players to cheat, especially the contestants. first the lady puts her cheeks out, when she says rosy. and then she stirs with her hands, when she says witches. that is absolutely ridiculous that those clues were allowed. if ludden is gonna be that hesitant, they should have had some judge in the back, watch and call it. then the host does not need to look like the bad guy. but this is totally unfair to the male contestant, who is not cheating.
Back in 1966 that was quite a bit the rent on the house i lived in was 40.00 a month for a 2 1/2 bedroom with a huge lot with four types of fruit trees on it and a huge garage for my slot cars . You could get a huge bag of penny candy for 25 cents that would last a week.

Miss Kitty is gorgeous in living color 💕
I loved Gunsmoke! And I loved Miss Kitty
Ray Bolger was wonderful!!!
Good clues, good to great responses, no fooling around. Enjoyed it thoroughly, thanks for posting!
They had fun, but it didn't interfere with the flow of the game. What a welcome contrast to the previous week with Jerry Lewis.
People were so much kinder then....
Thank you for posting this episode. You made my day!
Beverly Blake thanks for the comment!
No, Blake is my web name I use for my Proboard and Facebook groups; Amanda Blake Forum. Also, Blake was Amanda's screen name.
People dressed so well back then.
Nice to have some freedoms nowadays
@@KQwest98 It's also nice when people use their freedom by being dignified.
@@KQwest98 People had their freedoms back then too.
I've always had a preference for redheads since I was a youngster, and Amanda was my first crush
And Betty White is seen in the front row of the audience during the opening theme music.
Probably there to support her husband, the host, Allen Ludden.
And next to her is her mom Tessie, I believe.
At 00:25 you can see a then 44-year old Betty White , wife of 'Password's host, Allen Ludden, sitting in the audience, front row, bottom left!
Communique. Excellent. Should have got it
Amazing how fascinated they were to be in color. Now we can surveil our homes on televisions. Wow
I'm so glad we're through with Jerry Lewis.

I’m curious why the winning $ amount was reduced from the earlier years of the game.
Kitty was a "working girl" on Gunsmoke
Ray was the scarecrow in the wizard of oz.
No way!?
Is that Betty White in the audience?? 0:26
yes..i noticed she was in the audience on another color episode.
Yes, it is her husband as the host, Allen Ludden.
Right as, Right after "oil", came up as a password - a commercial came in,, singing "whopper"
😂

LOL Wow that's some pretty excessive dinging on the correct answer 5:20- 5:24
lololololol

I remember on one installment of"Password"..Allen told Ray.."Please Ray..no hand gestures".
Gunsmoke was better in black and white
It was better as half hour show.
Unfortunate editing after the last lightning round.
That would have been rather embarrassing if he didn't know Ray's name at the very end.
Pidgeon..p-i-d-g-e-o-n... I guess the dictionary guy was busy that day and it slipped by.
The word spelled correctly is "pigeon"...look it up in Merriam-Webster. That's a dictionary, you know.
You're thinking of actor Walter Pidgeon. The bird is spelled "pigeon".
Why didn't either of them try car gears for "park" and "drive"?! LOL
Car gears is 2 words
Hindsight 20/20

He’s not alive anymore, you know that right?
@@Nancie680 that doesnt make it less irritating
Seriously..
Amanda Blake is much more charming and appealing than Miss Kitty...
I Hate it when people name their children either rhyming names or All with the same letter like this woman Shelly Tucker did opposite Kitty 🤢🤮👎
That one woman cheated. She was stirring as she said, “Witches ---“
$400 woo hoo. Geez. Didn't win much

Yes woohoo. Consider the year!
That was a lot back then. When a dollar was an actual dollar
