I love SOA but be careful whenever you get something really well done - for free. The real cost is always hidden. As it is hidden here in the general theme of the whole series; that "even the tough guys can't handle the freedom of the anarchistic ideal", in fact they will end up destroying all those around them, "even those they love and vow to protect". It's the superb quality of the production that can seduce and fool you. Your too busy being absolutely wowed by the talent of the whole presentation to see that your values are being totally manipulated. Don't sucum to the suptle rhetoric of the implied under-theme of the SOA series "that humanity is too emotionally immature, inherently weak-willed and too self centered to handle the true freedom that the anarchy life brings". That is a huge underestimation of the human spirit!!!! The show makes you think that "you obviously would never make it in the world of real autonomous liberty. Only a strong government will save, protect and serve you" Don't fall for the message but just enjoy the show and you win!!!!!!!!.
+jay Roberge lol like the "strong government" portrayed in the show? You are implying that the ideal freedom of human spirit is in fact anarchy which I can't seem to entertain that thought for one second. And just enjoying a show without critically watching it is dangerous. When you shut off your brain to watch a show you aren't doing any justice to your personal thought process, you are just taking what the mass media has the opportunity to feed you. Like watching a Trump debate "just to enjoy the show"
Frank Pongratz I would say the portrayal of "government " in this entire series is consistently lacking in just about every category,,, of which the quality of strenth is but one. I speak of the pure, legitimate, and natural anarchistic pattern that hunmanity is inherintly drawn to,,,, for instance the dynamic of the super market where there are no leaders, no instructions, and no internal centeralized governing control authority,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Merely HUMANS self organizing along patterns of co-operating self-intrest to reach the goal of "obtainment of food suplies necessary for the entire family's survival" for the lowest price and fastest method ,,,, therefore the most prefered anarchistic default behavior that all humanity will naturally gravitate to ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,But this show is crafted to deny that simple truth to all of mankind who are watching it. This is evident in the example of anarchy that does NOT WORK and the result is the consistently deteriorating, demoralizing, decay into death destruction sin and all manner of decadent activities of the so called "free" humans as portrayed in the "biker gang" SO,,,,,,The mind controlling propaganda aparent in the central theme is ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ANARCHY = BAD,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, CENTRAL GOVENMENT AUTHORITY = GOOD
Wow! You read way too much at things you watch don’t you!? Unless it’s somebody who is unstable, lost, weak, a moron or mentally ill, I do not think tv shows or movies can manipulate human minds that much and even if it did the power to act on it is very limited because they will be trying to experiment fantasy theory on reality. Personally, the takeaway from the show is Kurt Sutter telling us what NOT to do and people aren’t that stupid not to examine even that message or any “message” for that matter with a grain of salt. The show was an quick adrenaline fix and nothing more just like his earlier show Shield.
I love how he say's Tara would be too smart to try and tell Jax about Gemma's part in killing JT since there in no tangible proof, when what she planned out and actually did was WAY dumber and less likely to succeed. She fakes a pregnancy and miscarriage with 4 people she can't trust knowing about it and plans to rat on the club... It was vastly far from her established character, felt forced, and the end of that terribly written season was the end of my watching SoA. They seriously had to write several characters as being way dumber to get to the final events of S6. Way to ruin a show.
@Sabrina Hutt Right, it definitely shows you how the kind of life they lived, has an impact on your way of thinking and how far you're willing to go in certain situations. I was pleased with the character development of Tara but I wish that would've happened earlier on because it would annoy how she would give Jax so many chances and he treated he like crap!
After rewatching it I did turn out not liking Gemma or jax everyone basicallly into terrible people who deserved to die lol terrible show lol I mean it’s great but a terrible ending lmao

Kurt Sutter almost looks like Gary Oldman
lol. I don't see it.
I kind of see it if he got his hair cut. His face reminds me of Gary Oldman.
noobslayer135 Damn, don't insult Gary in such a way.
sSTaGGeR NiCeLy
I know, right? Gary Oldman is awesome. Sutter is a fucking has-been douchebag.
And he acted as fiercely with Otto Delaney.
He looks so much like Otto WTF!!!
Yes, that's him. Kurt Sutter plays him on the show.

true!! Maggie Siff says she was shocked by how she was treated by fans after that.
