I grew up in Middletown. It was so different then. Big stores, mom and pop stores. It was a friendly neighborhood. Families shopping for groceries in the A&P. So different now. I have been gone since the late 1980's.
There is some of that remaining, but it's become more populated, especially recently and they have developed a lot, added more apartment complexes as well as stores, it's a mix of good and bad, unfortunately. Personally, even now, I prefer it over Brooklyn, where I grew up.
Left home in 2017. Been in El Paso TX since I got stationed here at Fort Bliss I served as an 11B infantry in the US Army. Born and raised in M-town for 18 years. Man I miss home….
I know what it's like to miss home, I was born and raised in Brooklyn NY, was there for 36 years but it's changed for the worse. I love it here, compared to what Brooklyn has become this is pretty close to paradise. I hear a lot of people move to Texas to get away from a lot of the problems places like NY and California are having. Makes me wonder if it really is a better location to live, though.
They've been renovating that area, looks good, looks new but retaining a look of history. I might make a night video walking through there, if I can get the chance.

Another fantastic video.
Thank you, and thanks for watching
My family went to grace episcopal up to the time we left in 1965. My mom grew up there.
That's a lot of history there. Thanks for watching.
Right at 1:16 that was the old Motor Vehicle office. I remember taking my written driving test there.

Thanks, so much has changed. Been here since 1969. Great vid
