👍👍Wow, tremendous transcription...great thanks! And it would be quite poetic if you were to also tackle “After You’ve Gone” (with Phil Woods), the last track on that live record!
thx for the tremendous work! But in the Intro bars 7and 8 are false. Al&Zoot covered Kai&JJ's version and slightly changed it: bar 7 having the hits on beat 2, +3 & following beat 1 in bar 8 which gets to be a 2/4 bar! A significant but good change! (due to alcohol? ;-) Kai&JJ here: ruclips.net/video/Kh-RgW83ffw/видео.html
Thanks! Glad you enjoy! And thanks for letting me know about the J&K version, I hadn't heard that one! But, bars 7 and 8 are most definitely in 4/4 all the way, both times through the intro. :)
Taylor Donaldson most definitely ... well, not. Tap your foot left and right and watch them turn to right to left on 2nd time around. Count & double check. - there's even some "magic" going on at bar 16 of the Intro. :D you wrote Kai Windings Intro except bar 7 has a downbeat and the preceding note is long. Al Cohn plays his version briefly again just before his solo entry. Double check just for kicks. Kind Regards.
@@erforderlich5274 Another way to think about this is that perhaps beats one an two on the transcription are actually pick-ups (beats 3 and 4), making the current beats 3 and 4, Beats 1 and 2. This would completely change where these bar lines are, but makes sense if you consider the bass pedal to be on 2 and 4, which is the stylistic norm in this situation. This would also account for the "lost 2 beats" at the end of the intro. Food for thought.
Two great masters. And I played with both of them.... Thanks for transcription!
l am 84 years old and lots of health problems , but when l listen this l feel like l am 20's and want to dance thank you
Taylor thank you for your work.
Getting an inkling into how Zoot & Al improvise is always appreciated here.
Thanks much, Taylor! Excellent job! Oh, I totally agree with you regarding the intro. ;-)

Is it possible to download this transcription somewhere?

Just listened to JJ and Kai. I like your explanation better.
