Today we are inland from the sunshine coast searching high up in the mountains to try and track down and capture on film the Pacific Blue eye in their natural environment.
Along the way we manage to find some Crimson Spotted Rainbows and Marjorie's Hardyheads along with some non native invaders ! But will we succeed with our mission to find the blue eyes?
Come along for this wild adventure as we brave the bumpy roads and beautiful terrain of the Australian wilderness and check out whats under the water!

Thank you very much :) that's a great compliment Steve Irwin is awesome
Love this. So beautiful. Got to leave it to the humans to mess it all up. Gotta love it.
So interesting Seb. The glass shrimps are extremely fascinating! What a lovely area, teeming with life.
Thank you, yes they are amazing!

As a bit of a rainbow fish fan I found this video fascinating. Thanks guys
Thank you im pleased to hear that! :) Arent rainbowfish awesome?
Do you like ornate rainbowFish?
They are really cool. They are very under rated as an aquarium fish here in the UK. I love watching videos of them in their natural habitat. Keep up the good work. 👍
Aquatic Specialist oh awesome! Have you seen the documentary I made on them? I went to a remote river to find them, they’re quite rare but I managed to track down one of the few populations of them
@@murkyseb yep. Another great Video. Cheers
Good work fellas
Some sweeet underwater action in there
Thanks so much :) really glad you enjoyed jt
Thank you for going above and beyond for this rare footage! Would the pacific blue eyes habitable in blackish pond?
If you find some blue eyes that live in a brackish environment yes or have been gradually acclimated for a brackish environment
We need more blue eyes in the hobby.
Blues eyes are amazing fish!
There's definitely none I can find in the UK.
Nice 👍🏻 now i know how going to look my aquarium! Thanks guys for nice video🤝
Thank you very much :) We are glad you now have some inspiration for your aquarium!

Thank you very much I’m glad to hear that :)
Where was this creek? I want to go visit and try see if these fish are still there!
nice broow
such a beautiful & peaceful video to come across. Love from India.
Thank you very much :) I’m glad you enjoyed it!
the Marjorie's Hardyheads would be an interesting additions to our aquariums to keep the algae in check
They are, they need to be in large groups and eat a lot of algae so it can be hard to keep them fed enough
We have them in fnq , very beautiful fish
Thats awesome!
In the wilderness. However rainbow fish are difficult to find in shops in OZ
There may be a local ANGFA club in your area that will be able to give you whatever fish you want such as rainbowfish
Wow very nice footage
Thank you very much :)
Thanks for sharing dude
That’s ok :) I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Fascinating, I always wondered what fish may live in those super clear shallow waters. I was wondering if you'd see anything different at night with lights. The berries were from Lolly Bush, Clerodendrum floribundum.
Thanks very much for identifying those :) Itd be really cool to go there at night with lights! I heard from someone that stayed at this spot that they say crayfish and tandanus came out at night time
@@murkyseb Yes maybe some fish and crustacea who wont use shallow clear water in daytime for fear of predation might use those areas at night. I have seen tandanus somewhat active in murkier, shaded or deeper water during the day
@@lachlanscanlan5621 thats true, ill make sure to try filming the creeks at night sometime
The carpeting plants look like Hydrocotyle tripartita. Some of them looked like some sort of Cyperus.
Thats awesome! Thank you very much for identifying them. How interesting
:)
beautiful country
It certainly is :)
I was out near Amamoor collecting Pacific blues and accidentally caught a M's hardyhead. Hes a good addition to the biotope tank I must say
Hayden Hagadaddy that’s awesome! The hardy heads can be really interesting in a school, when there’s enough of them one of the males will get a bright orange/red front half of their body. They become really colourful and active little fish
