Klavdia is a child of Greek-Pontic refugees. They were forced to leave their homeland by the Turks. The song is a reference to the genocide of the Greek-Pontics, where 353.000 people were killed (1916-1923). Thousands of them came to Greece to find a new life. Klavdia’s family was one of them. So, yes… Klavdia is very connected with this song. It’s the story of her family… We’re very proud for this song!!!

@@Μακμακ19.81 Yes and no. Obviously her family's story and her experiences influenced and possibly inspired the song. Does the song per se talk about any genocide? NO! It is about the sense of belonging and being a forced refugee or migrant.

Προσέξτε τη γράφετε. Αφήστε τις γενοκτονίες γιατί στο τέλος θα ακυρώσουν το τραγούδι και θα μας μείνει η χαρά

no no n o Darling --> THE MOTHER IS THE MOTHERLAND OF EVERY PERSON WHO LEAVES FROM HIS HOME LAND TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IS SYMBOLIC !! Klavdia has the role of motherland who lost her children !! The song is purely symbolic for all these people who are leaving their country, whether they are refugees, immigrants, or forced to leave because of war, because of work, for any reason, and the motherland cries for these people because it has lost them. As you can see, the song is purely metaphorical. No one died. !!! Greece in the national final where the competition was held to decide which song the Greeks would perform. It is known that it does not have such a huge budget, but they informed the Greek audience that this would not be the final stage presence on the Eurovision stage. !! In the song and as presented by Klavdia, she stands still like the motherland and the dancers symbolize the people who leave the motherland and are in any part of the world, so at some point her dress joins the cloth that the dancers have, symbolizing the sea that people cross and are in other parts of the world. In essence, it represents the motherland standing there waiting for her children to return. !!! The song touched the Greeks so deeply with its words, we were the first to feel the refugee crisis from Asia Minor, where they were called Greeks and in Greece they were called Turks. The parallels are so many. It is difficult for a foreigner from abroad, I mean, to identify so much with this song. I believe that immigrants will identify with it, wherever they are, for whatever reason they became immigrants. .. or refugees

we are so proud, thank you all for your reaction... //Asteromata (The word asteromata= “star-eyed” has its roots in Smyrna, where it was used to describe women with bright, striking eyes. It was part of a vocabulary at celebrated beauty and refinement //lyrics: Asteri mou, asteri mou/my star my star.//glekia mou mana me mou kles /my sweet mother do not cry (don't cry for me)// mavra ki an sou foroune/even if they put to you black clothes//to ksethoro to soma mou, floges den to nikoune/my faded body, flames can not defeat it//ta helidonia tis fotias, thalases ki an pernoune /the swallows of fire, even they cross the seas// tou rizomou ta homata, pote den lismonoune/the roots of their land they never forget// Asteromata mou mikri , gire na se filiso/ My little star-eyed, turn so I can kiss you// sta agia sou ta dakria, ta hele mou na sviso/in your Holy tears, my lips to fade away// Asteromata mou mikri, gire mou na se piaso/ my little star-eyed, lean to me so I can catch you//ta ksehasmena mou ftera, sterna na ksapostaso/ my forgotten wings finally rest (in my last moments to rest)// Aaaaa.. ah asteri mou, tzivaeri mou/ aaa my star, my gemstone (my treasure)//glekia mou mana mi mou kles, karavi einai e zoi mou, ageras to pani mou/ my sweet mother don't cry my life is a boat, who is looking for the return, the wind my sail//.... Lyrics translation
    Oh, my sweet star!
Do not weep for me, my sweet mother,
Though black clothes you're forced to wear,
My fading body cannot succumb to flames.
For even if the swallows cross oceans ablaze, the soil their roots they will never forget.
    Oh, my little star-eyed girl,
Bow down so I can kiss you,
So I might quench my thirsty lips with your hallowed tears!
Oh, my little star-eyed girl, bow close so I can touch you,
So that my long forgotten wings may rest one last time.
Oh, my star, my precious jewel!
My sweet mother, don't weep for me,
My life is like a ship,
Whose sail is seeking for a homebound wind. Oh, my little star-eyed girl, bow close so I can touch you,
So that my forgotten wings can rest one last time.
Oh, my star, my precious jewel!

    "Asteromáta"
    My star ... My star...
Sweet mother of mine, don't cry
Even if they dress you in black
    My faded body
    Flames cannot defeat it
    The swallows of fire
Even if they cross the seas
    The soil of my roots
    They never forget...
    My little star-eyed one
Lean so i can kiss you
    In your holy tears
    To extinguish my lips.
    My little star-eyed one
Lean so i can catch you
    My forgotten wings
    To rest at last
Oh my star, my precious gem.
Sweet mother of mine, don't cry
    My life is a ship
    That's seeking the way back
    Wind on my sails.
    My little star-eyed one
Lean so i can catch you
    My forgotten wings
    To rest at last
Oh my star, my precious gem
Oh my star, my precious gem.
    My star...

In the National Final of Eurovision 2025, Klavdia appeared in a stunning dress with a 20-meter-long train. During her performance, the dancers used this train to form the symbol of the spiral. The spiral is an ancient Greek and universal symbol that combines the shape of a circle with an endless circular flow. It symbolizes time, beginning, growth, continuity, and ultimately, life itself. Each person stands at the center of the spiral, with their experiences and memories imprinted along its curves.

This is not a dance song but a funeral song under modern sounds. It expresses the endless sorrow of all Greeks resided at Pontus -Asia Minor- who had their ancestors there 100 years ago. The Greeks of Pontus were massacred, killed, raped by the Turks paratroopers and forced to abandon their homeland. More than 3500000 were tortured and murdered with the rest leaving behind their homes, their properties and everything. Klavdia expresses this sorrow through this song as her ancestors were there, tortured, other either killed or expelled. Unfortunately, nowadays the Christian orthodox, Alawites and Druzes of Syria are expelled and forced away from their homeland by the ISIS regime and the Turke’s allies. This song hides deeply the unfathomable mourning of all the refugees, victims of radicalized actions, all wounded souls seeking for democracy, peace and freedom.
