The journey begins along the peaceful 1-mile Paseo Del Rio Trail, following the Red River's scenic Prairie Dog Town Fork. Ascend the optional 2.8-mile (one-way) Lighthouse Trail for breathtaking panoramic views across the canyon. Finally, wind down on the 3.1-mile Givens Spicer Lowry Trail, witnessing the majestic red cliffs that define Palo Duro. While the trails themselves are easy, the distance and potential Texas heat can increase the difficulty. Be sure to pack plenty of water and wear sun protection for a safe and enjoyable hike with your furry friend.

Definitely an underrated place
It is! The Lighthouse was cool but I'd recommend taking the Givens, Spicer, Lowry Trail over the lighthouse trail. The views are so much better!
This place is on my list
You won't be disappointed! I will recommend going for as many days as you can because 1 or 2 just isn't enough!

Palo Duro Canyon State Park looks like a wonderful place to explore. Very nicely maintained trail and beautiful views of the surrounding area. Love the red colors of the rock and landscape.
It's a very cool park! We don't have a lot of mountains so this is a good way to go up. I like the colors too. The reds and oranges.

Palo Duro is a great place to visit. We did this park a couple months before we built out our cargo trailer. In fact, us sleeping in our suv was the reason we decided we wanted a camper. We didn't do any major hikes while we was there. And sadly, this was before our YT days so didn't get any of it on video. We may have to go back one day. It really is gorgeous. Looks like waffle was having a great time out on the trails. Darbi got to do a little of that when we was there. Was first and only time she got a cactus spine in her paw. I felt terrible. But we did get it out without issue. Thanks for taking us back to this lovely park.
It's a pretty neat location so I hope you get the chance to return! Yeah cactus is no joke. I've tried my best to keep Waffle away from them but I think he learned pretty quickly on his own. I bet having a camper is a huge step up when camping. I've considered a tear drop or something similar.
@@AdventureswithBeeGee It's kind of funny. We built the camper cuz we didn't care for sleeping in the suv. But about 2 years ago we decided it would be cool to build out the suv and use it for sleeping on trips where we would like to have our 4 wheel drive. Then we decided to add a tent in the mix. Just can never tell what we're going to do 😆
