Thanks for the video on veggie broth powder ideas Kathy! And the friend that grows all those different herbs, wow, love to be nearby to see that. When dehydrating onions garlic spicy peppers, we place dehydrator outside to avoid the strong smell. Drying herbs, fruits, etc. make the home smell good. I have an old Magic Aire II dehydrator and an old Jack dehydrator, with the use of parchment paper, they work great.
I think I asked for a dry broth mix so thank you 🙏🏻 so much!!! The stuff that’s prepared and available is mixed with ingredients I can’t even pronounce and have no idea what they are, other than not FOOD
I don't have a spice grinder. I will probably go look at a thrift store when we have a warmer day. Snow here on Friday. I blend a golden tea recipe in a blender with purchased ground spices. The recipe says to strain it but I haven't got anything small enough to strain it. I have tried coffee filter, tea ball. Does it need to be strained since it's ground spices?
I love golden tea and have a recipe for it in my new book using fresh ginger and turmeric. I would say if you aren't bothered by using the ground spices and not straining then by all means don't strain!
@@joannlakes You can, or a coffee filter. I misread what she was asking - sorry Vivian. That's what I get for reading comments in bed - lol! For making vegan greek yogurt I line a strainer with a chemex coffee filter, but anything like that will work to get any non dissolved pieces out.
@@KathyHesterVeganRecipes I look forward to seeing your recipe. I would use fresh, but I didn't have any. I ordered tumeric on Amazon and tried the recipe that they promote.
How do I see the class bundles? Im on your site and only see individuals. Also, I thought you weren’t supposed to eat bay leaves, no? Thank you. Really appreciate your vids. :)
I issue with eating bay leaves is choking, not whether or not they have health issues when eaten. If they were poisonous we wouldn't be using them in any form.
I am definitely in love with my nooch. I'm sorry that you are sensitive to it. In the beginning of this video I do talk a bit about using tomato powder or mushroom powder to add an umami punch to foods without using nutritional yeast. I am planning on making an umami blend this year, but I have a few things on my to do list ahead of it.

Diane Peacock Cheryl loves the smart idea to put it outside. I fill the house up with strong smells all the time!
Oh, I have a spice grinder that according to Amazon I bought last February. Now, I just need to remember where I stashed it

Looks like your new cookbook has an open flat binding. Love that in a cookbook!
It does! PageS t. Publishing is great about using those!
Moxie can really meow. My cat does silent meowing. He just looks at me and mouth’s it
Fun! Frontier Herbs is here in Iowa.
Would you add mushroom powder if you’re going for a ‘beefy’ broth? What about the nooch? Reduce, remove, or do no changes at all?
Have a spice grinder and a separate coffee grinder.
hi Cathy, i am in Canada Ontario North Bay.love your program.
Thank you Katherin! It must be chilly there for sure!

Kathy Hester can’t you just line a strainer with muslin?
@@joannlakes I haven't explored cloth in the grocery store.

You seem to use quite a bit of nutritional yeast in your recipes. I am sensitive to yeast. Any suggestions for a substitute?
