Happy New Year. I'm sure we explained the song when you watched it the first time. You are absolutely right about how much they must practice for their shows. This was at the Tokyo Dome in 2016 (Su was 18, Yui and Moa just turned 17) with a sold out crowd of 55,000 people on a huge stage, the biggest stage they have ever played with three coffin shaped runways with moving platforms, a huge rotating round stage in the middle of the stadium and then three or four more small stages high above the main stage and the huge screens. Over the course of the two nights (both sold out) they played every song from their first two albums, so they had to practice and rehearse the choreo for 25 songs - and then performed every one of them flawlessly including one they had never performed before and have never performed again since ('Tales of the Destinies' is full on Prog Metal and has to be the most technical and complicated song in their catalogue). The Kami Band in this video were Mikio Fujioka (RIP) and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums and this was one of those performances where they got the spotlight for their instrumental intro.
One thing that I find fascinating and impressive is that their choreography has to be adjusted to the specific stage layout of every venue. It makes a difference whether you are on a rotating circular stage in a 55.000 people venue vs. a small cramped stage in Europe with 3.000 people. I honestly wonder how they are even doing that. I doubt that they can book Tokyo Dome for a week in advance to rehearse. And even if they only need five takes for each song to get it down perfectly, that's a good whole day of continuous dancing to account for the whole show. I'd really like to know how they make that work.
Nice to see you back. The funny thing about the choreography is, quite often when their music is playing during an interview, Moa will automatically start casually doing the choreo. It's all muscle memory. It's like she hears the music and her body automatically starts moving that way. The conversation about sweaty chests made me laugh because I have no idea who those people are. Except Meatloaf and all that did was give me an idea of what to make for dinner tonight. :)

Great review! Ijimme Dame Zettai by Babymetal at Sonisphere festival uk 2014 is a must! Their 1st time out of Japan and these 3 young Japanese girls and the kami band had 60,000 metal heads wanting more!

Seven years ago today (already January 5th in Japan) Mikio Fujioka (first guitar solo in this video) untimely passed away.
