We might have unearth the next big thing in football in Santos. He was smart, skillful and technical on and off the ball. If Santos was in Brighton he'd be worth nothing less than 50m.
This looks good. Hopefully Poch has been writing up formations and tactics on how to beat tricky teams' known set ups. This is a complete unknown Chelsea at the moment. So many changes. Hope for an exciting title challenge similar to when Mou arrived 😂 I can dream
Brighton is a moving machine. I love the audacity in their play tho it’s very risky and can backfire easily. If Andre Santos can nail down that box to box role and listen to Poch steady then we might not need to go for Caicedo now. We can play the long game and force brightons hand. If chelsea pull out of negotiations Caicedo would be unsettled and it could cause the asking price to drop
@@justaguy5762 yes.. but he would need at least a season and can we wait that long.. his a hard worker and just needs to grow more matured.. let's see how it goes
@@MrBlueFootball exactly 💯.. let's see how he performs with Enzo at the base of that midfield.. would personally love to see Santos , Enzo and nkunku as our midfield three against Newcastle
@@justaguy5762It's not a problem to have both even though they're close in age. We can always play a midfield 3 at times. Also, make no mistake Santos isn't necessarily a DM, his natural position is box to box. He was top scorer in the u20 SA championship. He's just a great talent that plays across the midfield perfectly. Caicedo can also play box to box but he's mostly a DM. No point buying lavia but Caicedo would be a great addition.

He has arguably claimed his starting rights in this eponymous POCH led CHELSEA TEAM. NONETHELESS, we still need the likes of MOHHAMMED KUDUS and CAICEDO In the middle of pack to exponentially improve the midfield against big teams like REAL MADRID,MANCITY and BAYERN MUNICH ADITIONALLY, we don't really need a new striker this season given the blistering and electrifying performances from JACKSON,NKUNKU and MUDRYK as well as BROJA hoping to make an impact later on as the new season gathers momentum FINALLY , my opinion..... IAN MAATSEN is far better than CUCURELLA and will prove to be CHELSEA most pivotal utility player this season AND SHOULD NEVER BE SOLD EVEN IF A HUGE OFFER IS TABLED .
Agreed with everything except the last bit. Cucurella is defensively better than both Chilwell and Maatsen, and should be given a second chance. Maatsen hasn't even played LB for Poch, he has played LW. Loan would be ideal for him, and then we review the situation next summer.
Santos can do it. He has to be part of the main team. Perhaps not from the start but definitely a frequent player off d bench especially if we get caicedo cos he will partner enzo in d middle. That way santos can understudy them and continue to improve.
MY BRUTAL OPINION: Kepa, Cucurella and Sterling are surplus to requirement in this present day Chelsea team. They should be quickly sold off and replaced.
@@gilbertchima781 At the minimum, Cucurella was playing well as an inverted full back. It seems to give us another tactic that we can use. Flexibility never hurts. Sterling of course, must go. He's robbing the club
Honestly, i dont knw why coaches still use Sterling. The only thing he has is pace. But he doesnt knw how to eveb use the pace. He cnt protect his ball, cnt play in tight spaces. Pls Poch. Use Angelo more
@@MrBlueFootball it's not a confidence problem. He doesnt know how to give passes in tight spaces. When there is no space in games, he doesnt do well, because he doesnt knw how to play with the ball close to him.... Even when he was in Manchester city, I see that as a weakness in his game. Plus he is wasteful in front of goal. We dont need that in our current situation. That was exactly what happened to Timo Warner. Missed alot of goals. That season, we are the club with the most created chances. But our conversion rate was so poor
Sterling is probably the choice I would keep for a countrr attacking game like cup matches. In the league, he cannot break down a defense unless they give him space. So yes if we 2 -0 up, I would bring him on around 70 min
The only reason I can think of is that he is still giving the right attitude and with seniority status in the group so maybe the manager can't just bench him without giving some chances more than others that is younger. Solution would be for the club to find way to sell him and take the loss and give pochetino another player that is at least on the same level as everyone else in the group.
Chelsea should move Cucurella to the pivot and Maatsen as a backup to Chilwell. Cucurella's passing is underrated and defensively he is very good. The options for the pivot can be Enzo, Cucurella, Santos, Gallagher and Hall. Casadei is better in a more advanced midfield position. Brighton are asking for ridiculous money for Caicedo, unless they are willing to accept the 70m offered I say Chelsea should cancel negotiations with them.
Santos is great, but he was heavily overwhelmed by Mitoma that game - against a more experienced, pacey tactician Santos is still heavily inexperienced I think? He should definitely get regular cup time to get him there though.
High pressing in the 1st half for Chelsea s not so good so ball possession s lower when Poch shouted out to remind players , this scenario has changed better but the major problem is the lack of good midfielders who can control the ball properly and make a kill pass
Poch has all the tactics... Tactically a better manager than zerbi, Brighton are so accurate with ball playing (short passes)... Against such an opponent going high and on counter attack can undo them but I'd really like to see Chelsea keep possession and use it efficiently as that would undo teams like Brighton... We can achieve this with time.
I don’t think Poch likes to keep too much possession. He likes more quick transition kinda football. That’s actually good. Once Chelsea gets drilled with his tactics they’ll get better with transition and catch opposition with surprise attacks
The defence line should avoid dropping balls in the box and too much of passings from the opposition team therein. Most cases Welbeck's saved bicycle kick will leave the Gk hopelessly and helplessly, Brighton's last goal is an evidence
If I will be very sincere and without sentimental reasoning, it was a red card tactics that help us. We played well but Brighton were far brighter in terms of play and opportunity, they fought like 11vs11 without their key players meanwhile they're a man down.
Lets not forget that Brighton scored first and it took them going down to 10 men for Chelsea to gain control of possession. Even then Brighton still scored twice
Can we talk about how brilliant Brighton were on the ball, almost perfection .. Luv the new look Chelsea, will be cooking indeed ..
