Having grown up in Southern CA right in the neighborhoods where this video was filmed I can tell you that this is a montage of so many SoCal kids youth! I remember wearing the studded belts and going to punk shows and coming home at 4am only to wake up and go to breakfast with the fam at 9am. King Cobra and OE 8 balls were the drink of choice.

This music video makes me emotional. Gives me nostalgia to when I was a rebellious teen, years ago and heavy into Punk Rock in Orange County. I remember getting out of high school just to go get high and drunk with the homies and going to Punk Rock backyard shows and venues...not having a single care in the world, not worrying about the future...
+Andrea Balboa Right, I can't remember when I first heard this. I think I was either crying, or either just laughing my head off in a jampacked sedan with my friends. Makes sense, I think I was just having a good time in the car when I heard it, and when I listened to it later, or maybe before, that's why I felt the 'feels'...
Do it while you're young! In two weeks I'll be moving to Japan. I from California and I've been living in the east coast for the past year. Road trips are amazing with the right people and music. Good luck!
This whole video was my 20s. It was 20 years ago, but this feels like yesterday. Days in the East Bay Area. I wish i drank less and remembered more. It was beautiful sometimes.
This is an incredible song. It touches on a subject most artists don't talk about: love that can never be. It's almost impossible to describe the heartache and 'what if' feeling it causes. But we have to acknowledge the hard fact that there are some times when even love isn't enough to keep two people together. Deep down you know that sometimes it's better for someone to find himself/herself rather than find you.
Yes, I've had to make this decision for a couple partners. I loved them so much, but I knew we weren't meant to be together forever. I loved them enough that I just wanted them to be happy even though it meant us breaking up.
I first heard this song back when it was new, about eight years or so ago. I thought I understood it pretty well back then. But then I got older and had relationships that didn’t quite work out and this song echoed in the background of all of them. It really does break my heart
Lyrics -> I want you to move to California for yourself, I want you to find whatever your heart needs. I want you to move to California for yourself, But not for me. I want you to go out there and find somebody else, I want him to treat you like I know he should. I want you to find somebody new for yourself, If not for me. All of the feelings that I know you never felt, And all of the simple words you never said. I want you to keep them like a secret to yourself, They’re not for me. I want you to wander silent past my outstretched arms, I want you to hide yourself from all I see. And though my heart will fight until its dying breath, You’re not for me. I want you to move to California for yourself, I want you to find whatever your heart needs. I want you to move to California for yourself, But not for me. P.S. Thank you American Dad
@@ahmir2382 It was nice seeing a reply to my comment from three years ago. This is a fresh reminder that time moves on for all. Something that I've known and listened to a myriad of times, is also something that has been discovered by a new set of people

I remember driving down the shoreline of Ocean City, in my friends topless Jeep. I was sitting in back seat of my car, laughing with my GF. With this song playing during twilight. Good Feels.
the moment i heard this song it became my favorite. it is just so passionate and romantic, much more than any other song that actually talks directly about love or sex. the indirectness, in my opinion, is what makes it seem so real. he loves her, but he cant have her, and so he will let her go. "though my heart will fight until its dying breath...your not for me." that is when i fell in love with this band. that line is the most true, beautiful line ive ever heard.
Wow this is giving me a mad nostalgic feeling for California after being on the east coast for a decade. We grew up partying like this in public spaces, pushing the boundaries and acting a fool.
I don't know about you or anyone reading this, but when I have a sh*tty day at work, I watch this video and zone out. It brings back memories when I was 17 yr old in high school ditching class with my friends, asking bums to buy us vodka from the nearest liquor store, and end the night at a backyard punk show in the valley of Los Angeles only to do it all over again the next day. Looking back now as an adult, they were fun times. And I miss being a teenager not giving a f*ck about anything or anyone. As I say this, I really wish I could live those days again but instead I have to stop reminiscing and get back to my corporate job. We grow up, but the inner rebellious, curious kid will always remain in us. That lifestyle is "not for me" anymore but I sure enjoyed them.
Thank you American Dad. Reading through these comments, it's so amazing how much with just the start of this song, impacted us. This song is beautiful. I don't know, but it made me cry. And this video is also great. Glad to have found a new song to add to my 4eva music list.❤

delta spirit are the most talented band I have ever seen. saw them when they came to England last year an was blown away they were awesome!! Matt even took time out to come and mix with us all. gotta admit have soft spot for Matt. can't wait for them to return.
I only like the intro beat. It reminds me of being young and feeling free, like the world is literally there for you. Its actually depressing really, since that feeling of being young and free disappears with time as you realize this worlds no "oyster".
to me, it's experiencing that freedom and that worldview start to slip away. It's like stumbling into adulthood. A shitty, passionate relationship during a turbulent time of life. Maybe I'm projecting a lot. I definitely am. But still. It's a riff that plays with happy and sad concepts.
I never really had that feeling. I started working as soon as I could, and between that and school it's pretty much all I did for a very long time. As I approach my thirtieth birthday, it's only in the last couple of years I've really started enjoying myself. Hard work is only satisfying for so long, I now have an unquenchable desire to start living even though it feels like half my life has already slipped through my fingers.
I think anyone who went out into the world to really have some fun as a young adult, shedding that skin in the early morning before reality set back in for the day says everything about the song for me. I used to be out all night, come back right at 6 before anyone knew I was downtown Atlanta raving my ass off all night with some of the greatest people I'll never see twice. Gotta live while the livings good.
I watched this on lsd 6 years ago. I was tripping balls and it was the first time hearing this song. I don’t cry much but I was balling my eyes out for like 5 mins after it ended. Totally hit me so hard and I still feel it when I hear this song. There’s so much put into this song.
I think it's pure genius. That a song can bring that level of nostalgia and emotion to a guy who wished he could have played just a little more on the punk free side. As a guitar player of 30 years, the wall of guitar sound on the intro and throughout is hypnotic and I can't get enough of it. If this band is as young as they look? They have serious soul and a huge career ahead. It's brilliant. Beautiful. Haunting. I'm gonna press play again...
Through it tears and wonder, through its callings and questions, one thing to never lose sight life's majesty and beauty unfolding at the outstretches.
