Btw it is WAY faster in person I hated it but I loved it
I went twice and it was close makes me sad this is one of my favorite rides along with ghost rider
Well that's cause a major component of the ride is still in the process of being replaced. It's been closed since March of this year and might not reopen till next year

Happy too see it has re-opened as of : Tuesday November 7th 2023.
X2 being closed most of my trip brought me to Xcelerator. What a truly shocking experience it’s the 2nd best ride in Southern California to X2. The launch is so powerful and even more intense than Dragsters. It felt like you got to the top hat out of the station faster than you can comprehend what happened.

This is my favorite launch coaster next to Copperhead and Sky rocket. Very fun ride.

This coaster has been down for so long I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s down longer than the other launch coaster in the park that’s getting a massive refurb

It’s really not rattly at all? Nor is reliability that bad considering its age and the fact it’s a prototype. The only reason downtime is absolutely awful when it happens is because they have to make a lot of the parts as necessary / supply chain issues. :/

@@nathancruz9172 It looks smooth, my prediction is the roller coaster will open in a few weeks, I saw an article stating that Knott's is trying their best to open Xcelerator by the end of September but I think it will be sooner :)

I remember seeing you working your favorite ride Ghost Rider lol. You guys need to fix Hangtime I went 3 times in a 3 month span and it was closed the whole time
I was just there Thursday and today and it was open pretty much the whole time, with the exception of about a 15 min closure because someone lost a rescue inhaler.
I thought Xcelerator name was the pink coaster

Tbf since Corkscrew at Silverwood is still operating then every Arrow Looper that has gone defunct was outlived by the prototype. Step aside Xcelerator, you ain't special.
But to be fair, Xcelerator's only purpose was to see if Dragster would be possible; Xcel was designed specifically for Dragster, but Corkscrew wasn't necessarily designed for any other specific roller coaster

Bro I just went this December to knotts. Before the park was closing me and my cousins wanted to get on supreme scream. So we did and afterwards I checked the time and saw we had like 30 seconds left until the park closed. We decided to run to xcelerator and when we got there we were out of breath and I saw one of the workers just close the line, like the second we got there but didn’t notice us. I would’ve yelled to get his attention but I was out of breath and we didn’t go on the ride. I was so mad because I thought it was the dumbest way to miss out on xcelerator, by running out of breath.
It’s actually 82mph it been confirmed by Knotts and cedar fair that it goes 82
@ChristianJauregui-s5r I work at this ride as a team lead; the ride's control panel actually displays the exact speed every single launch and it varies each time averaging from 78 to 79.5 mph. Ironically, the ride will actually fault if it exceeds 80 mph.
The ride is mechanically capable of reaching 82+ mph, yes, but with its current programming it will never actually reach that speed as it is not necessary for the ride to comfortably make it over the top hat.

Stealths launch is faster and has another airtime moment
Stealth opened four years after Xcelerator. This was the prototype. It paved the way for Stealth.
Tbh this is more like Rita than Stealth, and probably wouldve been Rita if Alton didnt have the height limit. If it wasnt for this ride, Stealth, Storm Runner, Rita etc would either not exist or would use LSMs 🤮 so be appreciative
And this ride looks like it has quite a bit more airtime than Stealth as it has AN ACTUAL LAYOUT, whereas Stealth is just got less than a second on the hill before you hit the breaks.
I can trash Stealth all I want tho but I still chickened out yesterday, and I’m only an enthusiast/nerd but not even a thrill seeker so take it all with a pinch of salt lol

@@M-NL2 yeah I'm a regular visitor to knott's and its been closed since March of last year and it hasn't re opened the rumor is the launch system was damaged and they needed to order a new part to fix it but considering that its taken them almost a year it's pretty likely we've seen it's last day of operation
@Mr fett yeah ik i work there lol. I can't really explain why it's closed; it is going to reopen this year, either in the summer or fall

That’s why I’m gonna let that one slide when I go there, I went there a few days ago and I just didn’t feel safe getting on that one so I passed. I use to love that ride but the incidents and how long it took to get it back up and running is kind of disturbing. Makes u not want to risk it.

Not every one should make coasters content
The ride hasn't been rideable the last 2 years i've had a season pass... The color scheme is literal fucking garbage... the light blue beams wen't great with the old PINK track. But the new Fire/Grey track looks like trash with Light Blue beams. Knotts knows it, but they're too slow and lazy too fix it.
They should tear this out and bring back the Soapbox Racers. This shit is always down
Wait, if it doesn’t launch at 82 mph, then what is the actual speed? Cause this sucker is fast, for me at least 🫠
