You are right about Civil engineer paid less in USA, I think it's same everywhere even in India. Too many cost involved in completing a civil project, a little left for Salary.
I'd be going to Purdue of CPM next fall. Taking the worst scenario, i'd be back in India after 5 years due to visa. Won't I be able to save a lot and come back to india and start with something good in here??
I have been doing internships at big contractor firms such as Shapoorji, Masters PMC, Simplex...the staff over there says that life is hell in India on basis of Work time and Pay. The max pay that a Project Manager can have in India maybe range in 1 lac to 1.5 lac and that too after many years of experience. So it's better to pursue your career in USA with better Pay, exposure and job time
@@dhruvmistry6956 Did you already receive an admit for fall 20?
@@dhruvmistry6956hey ,thinking of the same ,how’s it going ?
I think a big point to consider here is, if we are repaying loan amount in 5 years or 8 years or even in 10 years, the salary will increase in those 10 years, too. If someone is paying 20-25% of his monthly salary in loan repayment, he/she will still pay the same percentage (or probably more) if their salary doubles in years.
You won't be in US for 5-10 years..at Max 6 years and you should be able to pay your loan in 3 years time
@@mohammadanas2432 why at max 6 years? if he is able to file for greencard during h1b then period of stay will not be limited to 6 years right? please correct me if I am wrong
Thanks for all your effort, I'm glad because this info means a lot to people like me who doesn't have seniors over there in states. Thanks a lot
Really good one .. make another part about finances and expenditure while we work. Good efforts

I'm happy I made the decision to stay in my country and work on bettering my skills. I had a major FOMO when all my friends were leaving to do their MS and I wasn't.
Chill GOD is there you will achieve much more just be happy in small things and try to I prove yourself everyday that's what I learned from my previous mistakes and glad hardwork payed off earning in six figures per month within 4 yrs I also do social work and spend my time travelling and exploring my parents are proud of me becoz I have not asked a single penny from them after 10 th worked part time like they do in US then why not our country I think that improved me a lot
Successful MKBHD peace attempt this time 😂🤟
Thanks for all the information you're putting out! ❤️

No one does a part time job for 12 months lol if it's an intensive stem course
You can say TA/RA maybe but not everyone gets that
Can you make a breakdown video for CS grad considering various cases like graduating from an expensive uni vs graduating from public uni etc ?

This was extremely helpful! We don't find many videos like these. Thanks man!
This is quality content. No words to describe the amount of time and effort you have taken in compiling so much information covering each and every aspect of an aspirant's financial uncertainty in studying abroad.
thank you, this exactly what I was looking for
Awesome🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️, you make our work so much more easy!!!
Mr. Parth Hats off to you. This is the most helpful channel.
OMG! This is so insightful. Could you also talk about the scholarship with MS and PhD program in the USA please. Keep you your altruistic work. :)
Great video, it's just amazing!! Keep putting up such videos.
Hey
Great videos bro like for MS it covers pretty much everything.
I am planning and am serious for undergrad and one small briefing about cost and income would be very very helpful.
watching a bunch of your videos, nice job! enjoying the music assortment on your vlogs as well. cheers!
So everyone in internet wears this light pink hoodie?
im also noticing this trend
Looks Hip and cool
Great video again, with the uncommon insides and reality of the american dream
Please keep on giving as much information as you can . Doing a wonderful job there parth! 👍👍 It'll be helpful for students like us who are wanting to study in the USA.
Thanks for both the videos Parth. They are indeed very helpful.
I want to appreciate you for all your videos as they are really helpful for an incoming graduate student in the United States and helps him/her ease the apprehensions. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
Correction
The interest and repayment calculation doesn't work like that
That emi Cal is giving you 5 complete years of repayment from start whereas in Indian loans we start repayment after 2-2.5 years and for those starting years simple interest is added
So your emi will be higher than what you showed there and we have to pay that loan back in around 3 years of our opt total duration is variable but depends on h1b so better if we aim for paying back loan in opt duration
And loan is sanctioned for total amount but interest depends on how much of it you actually use so if you take only 20000$ in first year then interest will be charged on that only not whole 75000$
I actually mentioned that in the video. The exact same words :)
@@ParthVijayvergiya kudos to you watched that keep your awesome videos incoming
You have a great attitude man. Open to corrections. That shows you don't have an ego. Stay same always.
Please make a video with your Cat !!! I am sure a lot of pet lovers would like to know about it :)
Hey great video Parth!! You have explained everything that was going in my mind!!
As you have mentioned, for civil engineering, you should not go for highly expensive colleges.. Can you suggest few good ranked colleges with lesser fees for cm!!

It is tough playing with so many numbers! Kudos to you for able to show those calculations to us.
😬 I'm scared af right now coz I'm a mechanical
Why bro i am also from mechanical, what is there to be scared off, please tell me i also want to be aware. I want to be prepared.
@@kirtanbhavsar3080 mechanical is the lowest paying, worst case salary 60k, loan to be paid back in worst case 90k(considering emi), all this and also considering recession which would hit mechanical the most obviously, you'd be fucked if anything goes wrong even slightly. Btw I'm Bhavsar too, let me know if you wanna contact.

You're amazing. Thank you. Please keep guiding.
Hi Parth,
Very informative video
But I have few comments to make:-
Not all universities in the US follow Semester-Credit based fee system like the one you have mentioned.
Most Universities in California follow Quarter system with fixed fees per quarter. Therefore, there's no way you can optimize your fee structure. Also, it's quite hard to do part time job on campus in a quarter system and do well in your courses.
Yes, It doesn't make sense to go with a costly University but to reduce costs we might have to choose a university where location is a disadvantage.... So how to weigh location vs costs? Where one should incline towards in general... and yes Thanks for your videos!
You're awesome. The video is superb, Cheers.
Great effort... Highly appreciative...
Sadly, there are hardly any jobs in the tech fields (as of today) as an international student but civil/construction engineering are playing safe. Tables have turned hehe
Parth, could you please make a video about getting a green card: requirements for international students with US master's degree, wait times and cost involved. I am interested in settling down in the USA.
Are you not considering the scholarships that universities give? Because 74k$ with Columbia univ seems like the person did not get any scholarships at all. What're your thoughts on this!
This is for the worst case scenario
This was very informative, thank you!
That is just like living an aam admi's life in America instead of India until your loan is repaid!
Serious ROI calculations must be done before going abroad for fancy universities. Otherwise the only people who make real money are banks and foreign govt.!
Maybe if you get Scholarships then it's worth it
The minimum wage in New York is $15; Columbia pays at least $16-17/hr. Still, a lot of things are misleading, In Columbia, you won't be able to do a co-op, you can work full time in summer and in fall you have to take at least one credit in school and only allowed to part-time work. And fees are calculated based on taken credit with no expectation even if you are taking more in one semester or less, everybody will have to pay same tuition. And lastly, reality is harsh, that $78,000 number is really high, I finished my master's from Columbia in Civil and working New York, I have friends working in the industry, and at the entry-level nobody makes even near that number.
Hey man, can you send me your linkedin/email. I'd like to talk further on this!
Also, I would suggest cutting taxes from internship money if you earn $31,000 in the internship in New York, in hand, you'll get only $23k-24k.
I'm going to UFL for Industrial Engineering this fall. Was elated to see the last video. That has ended. 😁
Great Video brother!
Nice video 👍 it would be very helpful if u make the video for computer science people in similar way.
please make a video on average case scenario because on georgia tech MS in CS costs about 20K USD for !st year so it will be about 30k - 35k total fees . so its will be a different scenario overall!
Hey Parth, thanks man. Helps a lot.
I don’t see why you had to choose an outlier such as Columbia when it does not apply to 90%+ people.
You could have done two comparisons one showing a big school like Columbia and another taking a smaller and more affordable school.
Whilst I like all your other videos, I feel this one didn’t give me a perfect idea of how much I would need to spend.
All i can focus on is the kitty😂

Hey thanks for making this!
Can you please make a video on how to plan and clear the loan within 1/2 years or the earliest -
Average income - 100k (Seattle)
Living expenses per month -1500$
Loan - 85k
Apart from income, what else can be added to clear the loan? It would be extremely helpful if you can give some tips or any such! Thanks in advance!
Useful information -Father
Super nice good information bro . thank you soo much.
Hey Parth. Really appreciate the time and effort you put in to make these videos. They're really helpful. I don't have any questions but just wanted to request if you could include information for undergraduate business majors in the next video. I have applied to NYU Stern for the BS in Business degree and am awaiting my admission decision. The estimated cost for my education is around $320,000 ($80,000/yr). This includes tuition and accommodation. Can you help me with some websites where I can find relevant information such as career prospects and average salaries for jobs? Again, thanks for making these videos!
The most easiest way to pay of a loan. Live way below your means for a few years. Pay more than what is required. Become debt free. Start enjoying. It’s that simple. All that extra is just BS !
This was fantastic video. Thanks
Hey, could you do a video for non- STEM courses? Like MPP, MIA etc? There is less content available for such courses on YT
I feel you've underestimated the salary. I know mechanical and industrial guys with 120k salary in Tesla. I know a CS guy with 160k in Tesla.
He is talking about average students
And comparing Electrical with Civil and Mechanical is an understatement!
US , the silicon valley is known for VLSI jobs!!! They are paid equivalent to Computer Science.
Can you make a video for computer engineers aspiring to go there? It would be really helpful.
Because the figures would totally change for computer engineers
I got into Chemical engineering MS in Purdue, can you please estimate the number of years required for paying off the loan if 40k USD loan is taken?
Hey Parth, just saw your video. It was really helpful.
I am planning for masters in US but I am scared about the payback, visa and other stuff. I will be taking a loan most probably through prodigy.
My question is what you did before coming to US, did you go through any consultancy firm or you managed on your own? Do you recommend any?
How much % of scholarship is possible? Not talking about the max % but decent percentage which is possible for suppose a person with overall 80% score in college and school and let’s say 310+ score in GRE and good SOP and also 2 years of exp in IT.
Since I am looking for scholarships so if I am focusing on 2021 June/July intake, should I submit my applications before 31st December so that I have better chance of getting a scholarship?
Recently you bought a car so how are you managing all the expense or shall I assume you already paid back your Loan amount?
I will be glad if you could answer some of my questions in your next video. Thanks!
Prodigy doesn't require collateral?
Yeah they don’t require collateral. You can check their website. But they only consider top 100 universities.
@@shivamrajawat3322 thanks for the info. Is there any catch? Like someone working for surity?
master chief not anything that I know off. I will recommend you check out Parth’s video on prodigy once.
Thank you so much, Parth! :)
Any time :)
God bless you brother, you saved me from a lot of financial struggle and anxiety. Coming from the indian middle class doing my MS for around 50 Lakhs doesn't makes sense when I can get a similar education for Just 15-17 Lakhs in the Germany. I have always dreamt of becoming an entrepreneur and getting into such financial shackles will delay my plans. To other also, please have a look at Germany before considering the money draining universities of countries like US, UK, Canada and Australia.
Hello Parth, It's really helpful. Can you please make a video on non-cs guy want to do ms in cs?
How's the future of doing MS in Artificial intelligence? I mean for both USA and India. Thanks.

Hey Parth, this is an unrelated question, but I wanted to understand, which is better, MS in Data Science or MS in CS with Data Science specialization?
If you have found the answer, please share with me as well. I too have the same question.
Hey.. can you make a video , like talking to the peoples who have completed a ms in us and doing job over there.. try to make for all different department separately and you will get a great reach and there is no information in youtube for many dep like aeronautical and aerospace

Hey..
what about aeronautical and aerospace engineering.. i have heard about ITAR policies, which will not allow the person to do job in us, related to their field.. if they were immigrated over there, because all the job related to aero will come under defense.. can you do the video related to this and what are the job opportunities for ms aero ...

I had a question: I am planning on going for a Spring admission to the US for a M.Eng. in Civil and Env. Since I have a Bachelor's in Mech (from Drexel), and I basically suck at sciences, I didn't want to delve into pure environmental engineering, so I am going for a mix. In your experience, is this something new, or are there jobs perhaps in urban planning, water resource planning, sustainable infrastructure etc.? How do I do field specific narrow job search?

You haven’t included taxes that you will be deducted from your intern/coop earnings .
Like 28$hr which comes to something around 4400$ a month would be before taxes .
Thanks for this...I am also thinking to do masters in future
Hey Parth, thanks for the amazing content always, hope you are safe from the impact of COVID19. I am curious to know about the salaries made my international students mainly in Data Science or Comp. science, on OPT. What's the difference between their salaries and domestic employee?

Hey can you please try Making video for hospitality student?? University cost and loan and all
Had a few questions
1. Most people talk about taking a loan for the tuition fees and having a part time job for living expenses. What if I don't get a part time job ? How does that work ? Or is it just recommended to take all amount in loan for some assurence.
2. Someone from a middle class family, It is overwhelming to take such huge amount of loans. Also, have issues showing collateral for loans. What'd you recommend ?
Hey Parth, a huge thanks for sharing your insights on everything. Can you please share your thoughts about the Masters in Management Course in the US? I got admitted to Boston University.

Hey.. please talk about ms aeronautical and aerospace in us and job opportunities ..
No one have done a proper video in this content . So, try to do in this topic
Where did you get salary data for Electrical Engineering? If this for Masters than its not correct. Bachelor than yes!!
Could you please talk about taking student loans in US? Like not from indian banks or something. How much can you take as an international student and tips about it all. Thanks!
Generally top universities have higher fees. At the same time, they have advantage of providing better job prospects after graduation. Wordly recognized companies like Amazon, etc will come to Uni. like Columbia bcoz. of Univ. ranking and will give higher salary. Therefore, do you think getting into top ranked uni. at higher fees is not better?
