Hi Tide have announced (11th of October) that Undercover Secretary together with three other tracks by The Surfrajettes are today available for pre order on vinyl for the first time.
Guys, you're so good. Love the genre of what you're into. I would say, you really need one of you to become a frontwoman, and all of you need to project more emotion and stage presence. Because you LOOK dispassionate, kind of bored playing - even though this may be highly inaccurate. Maybe you guys are just a bit shy? This kind of music needs more than mere competence and musicianship (which you guys obviously have!) - it needs fire and passion (Think Dick Dale or the early Ventures!).
I think they don't need a front woman. They are a good team. Maybe they could integrate some choreography or rock moves. In an old video you see Shermy and the former bass-player Laura make a rock move with their guitars. But I think they want to concentrate on their music. I like their performance.
But in the millwinders Sarah also wasn't or isn't a front woman. All the members sing in different songs lead. The beatles also had no front man. This was unusual at that time. And they had no special choreography. For example the shadows sometimes made dance moves. All the bands have different styles.
And I think it shall look spontaneously. In one video you can see Nicole imitating the drums with her hands, when only the drums play. I think that was a spontaneous action.
I was there...somewhere!

If you check out millwinders voodoo you can see the bass player Sarah dance. The song and performance are a raw one.
And in the surfrajettes she plays another role. That is fascinating.
