Imagine Coach Nakagaichi having a hard time picking between Sekita and Fujii in matches. :( To all of those who are wondering why Fujii wasn't in many matches in 2019 is because one of the current roster's key players is Nishida, Sekita's accuracy and how he can match Nishida's speed is very fitting. Fujii on the other hand utilizes his MBs really well. Also, his one-hand sets are wonderfully executed. Such an amazing setter Fujii is!
I believe Fujii had an injury last year. Hence, we did not see him that much in VNL 2019. I remember Hideomi Fukatsu (who has been their main setter for a long time) played as an alternate setter.
You’re right but I notice that Sekita will mostly give his sets to Ishikawa and Nishida and that is why they are read easily by Brazil and US in the World Champ. As for Fuji, he is very good in distributing the balls for other players

I started following the Japanese men’s team in 2017 when Fujii started setting. He changed the dynamics of the Japanese team. He has a natural talent. I understand that he had an injury at the beginning of 2019, I guess that how he lost his main/first setter's position. I hope he will get it back as I do believe that the Japanese team needs a setter who can utilize middle blockers more regularly. That intern makes it easier for Nishida and Ishikawa to score. Besides, they now have reasonable middle blockers such as Onodera. Make sense to use them all and let the opponent guess where the set goes...
Today,Naonobu Fujii announced that he has the stomach cancer(stage IV) I am really sad now but He promised us to be back.I hope we can come back this video to celebrate his back! We’re on your side always,Fujii-san!

Ahmad Ihsan sekita’s weapon is his agility, he can match the speed of nishida and ishikawa that’s why their plays are so fast
