It’s Normal. On cerro torre sometimes it’s the only way to reach the summit. The mushroom. It’s called the mushroom.
I went hiking up towards Cerro Torre when I stayed in El Chalten in 2015 and was astonished at the wild beauty and terrifying scope of Cerro Torre. I must admit I wondered just how anybody has the courage to climb the mountain. I love these films though.
And then there are people like Colin Haley going solo on Cerro Torre, no cinematic shit, no dramatic music, no drones or helicopters, no sponsors. Mad respect.

Aplausos ! ! Che esta muy bueno lo que hicieron. Imaginate que como amante de la montaña uno ha visto muchos videos. Este muestra una escalada con clima argento. Además tiene un par de escenas que están mostradas muy naturalmente. Me gustaron mucho las que dejan percibir el sonido de ese momento, el de la piqueta golpeando contra el hielo. La verdad felicitaciones y no lo digo por la cumbre sino por haber disfrutado el trayecto y por dejarnos estar un poco ahí.Tendría que haber sido mas larga.

How stable is that snow on the top section? It looks as if those mushrooms can collapse at any moment
Thats called a cor. It's always advised to not walk on the overhung portion of a cor since they will collapse and you will die.
