I was born in the mid-90s in Eastern Europe and the first time I heard Free Bird was when I played GTA:SA. Since the game features a desert and rural mountains, driving cars and piloting planes while having K-DST blasting has been forever burnt into my mind as a core childhood memory.
My folks introduced me to the tune early on but for me it was very much the same, the first time putting it on in GTA: SA on my own accord, the association was made.
My Dad used to take me on American road trip vacations (we're from the UK). Free bird was one of those songs that played. A couple years ago I moved to the US and recently I became a US Citizen. I still love driving to classic rock through the countryside and it is by far the most American thing a man can do.

I recently started playing beamng and all I do is deliver random cargos to every place that can be driven to. I take it easy, roleplaying a bit like a little child. And I was just thinking about putting in-ear headphones below my main ones, with chill lofi beats acting as the radio and some flowers to smoke. The thing is I don’t know if I’ll come back from my trip 😅 I might just chase the horizon in an endless loop with a refrigerator in the back of my van and I’m perfectly fine with that.

The fact the car stayed in one piece in BeamNG. That just tells you the power of Free Bird. After all, most of those turns with BeamNG physics. Those wheels would have buckled, car starts to slide, and tumble 20 times before resting on the roof...or what is left of the roof.
From the nicely timed turn throughout just rocking it through those early apexes and threading the needle all the way up the flagpole to a big fat salute to the American Way of bringing Meemaw back from the funeral parlor for the viewing. RIP Meemaw

I was horrified with how poorly the physics engine performed, and with how little content there was to this game. Now, seven years later, it actually looks decent. If what I see here is consistent with the rest of the game, I'd say it's worth $20 now.
People like you think generic Sim racing games with 20 tracks is worth more than this masterpiece with an endless modding community. You don't understand how impressive of an engine BeamNG is and why it should be charging $60. The physics work done backend is ahead of the entire pack.
