Exactly, it was just the first and it really was nothing more than a tap into the bigger handheld/mobile gaming that is 2/3 of entire gaming industry.
I know a few people who got to try OneX player , he loves his deck and his switches but says it's both at double the ability and better visuals without question and the battery is better than his Steam Deck

MSI claw is straight up F tier. also steam deck is S tier, the optimisation it gives and integration that valve has done to make it a full console is great. i would actually go for rog ally x though

Imagine not owning these handhelds, talking nonsense, not knowing one thing about portable gaming but making some random nonsense video to beg for clicks. Dude literally just reads off data sheets from google and makes up his mind based on that. We all know that the Claw f.ex. doesn't perform as advertized. We all know. So...why these nonsense claims?
Making a tier list when you have no real idea what your talking about is just not smart guys... The Steam Deck is not just Steam Games only but you can play a huge selection of non steam games with a little work in desktop mode. Would highly recommend that you rework this list after getting some more intel on the subject.
I can't be the only one who has tried other handhelds but the steam deck is just on top.

I got two days ago, it runs everything!
@XGARXS it's a beast. I played elden ring on it in 1200p at ultra graphics and even enabled Ray tracing and it handled all that at 30 fps!!

Actually it was GPD who started the handheld gaming PC market followed by one notebook and Aya Neo soon after problem is they were and still are too damn expensive but before them the only company I remember that tried to do something similar was Razer with their original Razer edge in 2013 but that was more like a Windows gaming tablet with a massive controller attachment that was sold separately costing like $250 and the tablet itself costs anywhere from $999 to $1,449.
For a handheld, the most important thing is "HANDHELD" form factor and ability to hold it comfortably when laying down and such (Ayaneo Air line and GPD Win). 2nd is battery/power (Rog Ally X is the best in this). 3rd is stability of the system and long term support (nothing beat Steamdeck on this)

You guys are clueless. Steam deck is the industry standard now. It's an A or S tier. It's the biggest selling pc handheld for many reasons.
There is now handheld that is designed like it so I wouldn't say it's the standard
@jasonjrelkins5171 there are handheld with track pads and now one being officially supported for SteamOS. It's absolutely the standard. The baseline of what one should be.

@@Ramms95 The GPD WIN MINI is the only one pocketable in this list. Proper portable handheld. It is almost the same size as the N3DS XL!!!!. I own it and it fits easily in my cargo pants pockets 😊.

Lol I have legion go and steam deck..... Steam deck should be in A catagory. I love the legion go, due to its usage factors, I can play any game store and watch media. But the steam deck just does so much in terms of its steam os and it's quality of life features, it's tdp settings, in built fsr and proton . If they'd have brought out an 8.8 inch variant I may never have bought legion. But don't regret it, they both get used.
Steam deck oled and Rog ally x are top 2 the rest can goes below them
Ive had the steamdeck (none oled) when it launched, sold it after 1 month, did not like the linux and needed way to much tinkering before you could play games out of steam"duo boot to windows"
Ended up buying the Antec core hs(ayaneo slide rebrand) and i have no regrets at all.
If your experienced with game pcs windows 11 is not an issue at all.
Lets rearrange this list:
1. Rog Ally X: Solid S
(Best Graphics, Performance & Battery on the market so far)
2.OneXplayer x1: probably S or A
( + Biggest Screen, alternative for laptop - Not come out yet not sure for performance, expensive price)
3. Legion Go: Solid A
(+Switch Like Concept, One of the biggest screen available, stable performance, Mid Range Pricing)
4. MSI Claw 8: Probably A or B
(Maybe a competition for ROG Ally or Another flop just like the old Claw Series because of intel Processor)
5.Steamdeck OLED: Solid B
(Low Specs but optimized system for quality gaming and good performance. Most stable Gaming Handheld so far. Only downside is the OS runs with linux and not windows)
6. ANY MODEL WITH BUILT IN KEYBOARD ( That is Ugly looking gaming handheld almost look like mini laptop than gaming handheld and imagine playing that on the go your hand will probably numb after few hours due to discomfort. I think they need to follow the controller like gaming device for comfortability for long gaming sessions)

Steam Deck is the best Value handheld. Steam Deck OLED is the best in the list followed by the X or Ally Z1E because theyre performance champs then Legion Go and everything else

I agree I own the win mini 2024 and it is awesome. Especially since it can fit easy in my pockets unlike any of the others and a keyboard for PC games that need it like RTS games and World of Warcraft on the go. IMO the win mini is the best of all these since it is proper portable and just fits in some pockets( no need even for a bag or backpack) clamshell for watch Netflix etc with screen standing upwards, keyboard etc. So funny how they say the win mini is bulky it is far from it if anything it is the least bulky of all these 😂.

As someone who has owned and resold most of these my opinion is follows. Ally x is the best all-around. Legion Go and Steam deck follow. One x player is fine, but the support sucks. If you have total tech at best buy you can use your GSP on a device you bought there and swap it for the new one or a newer version. Don't buy a handheld from China. They may be good, but you may regret it if you have issues.

Bro the Steam Deck is the best device here. You dont even need games on Steam you can install epic games and gog. Its a mini PC just like the rest of them, but the Problem with the others are you cant trust them Valve constantly updates the Steam Deck. All of these devices are the same theres no difference only that some of them have Full HD. And there is a huge difference when a game is made for Steam. and yeah you can say there no Anti Cheat for online gaming, but lets be honest everyone on PC cheats in online gaming you cant trust windows here either. So long story short the Steam Deck here is the best device for its price Especially
steam deck is pauper trash with antiquated hardware that i would ASHAMED to be seen with.
All others are great and have pretty much similar spec, but the ones with 24+ GB or RAM are superior, modern games need at least 8GB of dedicated VRAM, 32GB handhelds are the sweet spot 16Gb + 16Gb.
All of them use windows, there is nothing to "trust", i dont need shitty Linux and closed system, i can install GOG, emualtors, pirated games, EA Store, Ubisoft, whatever else store, it just works.
Steamdeck is closed system for the tech illiterate and weebs that play visual novels all day.
Also 7inch is too small for anything but games [and not even all of them, try playing strategy or games with lots of text or card games, if you need to read and game its a horror]
8.8inch of legion go is much more enjoyable size and can be used as mini tablet, but if you absolutely NEED 7inch: Rog Ally X is the kin with 24Gb of ram, huge battery and VRR
@@NoBodysGamer while you are correct in that it has worst hardware, you have to give it more credit because of the price point for the lcd version which you can get for around 300 bucks or maybe even lower. Hell it brought pc hand helds to the average consumer and feels like it forced other companies to look at the want for them which sparked this arms race to make better more premium versions.

Also the prices you see are USA only, it costs more in Europe and steam has limited list of countries they sell, in other countries its sold trough distribution network, so prices are higher.
If we talk USA only, OG rog ally drops to 400-450$ all the time.
SD boosted the handheld trend, it wasn't first, i agree that probably SD made this mainstream, if not the steam deck MAYBE there wont be Rog Ally/LeGo/Claw.
But ASUS managed to release 2 models while steam just released same one with different display and faster ram.
Steam is being steam, they INSANELY SLOW no VR hardware update, no HL3 and same goes with SD.
How hard is to do Rog Ally X like move?
Even release z1e + 24gb of ram, OLED screen and you have great hardware with steam polished software, everybody happy!
Also with the size of SD, why the screen just 7inch LCD and 7.4inch OLED?

Steam Deck: 298×117×49mm
They same length, SD is thicker, but only 0.5 inch/1.35cm taller!
But as far as height the difference is minimal yet LeGo has much larger 8.8inch screen!!!!
If steam deck stays the same height, they can use 8inch screen, so it wont be 8.8 but still 8inch is much bigger then 7inch
@@NoBodysGamer Your argument seems to be that the system should be better than what it is which is valid I don't disagree with this but I'm making the argument that for the price it's very good. 100 to 150 dollar different is still a lot to many people. It's a budget system that gets you gaming. Let's be frank in that it has a good community with it even having an app that let's you review and help people with games and steam actively tries to improve the software. It's like your looking at a Honda civic and being mad that it's not a Lamborghini which seems very unfair.

Another win for the steam deck is you don’t have to subscribe to steam to play games online like you do on all the launchers other then epic I think but I’ve never had epic so idk but I cloud game through game pass have a ps portal and a sd oled, love them all too

i own some of those handhelds, including the rog ally, steam deck oled and the onexplayer x1 with the core ultra 7. the onexplayer x1 is by far the WORST handheld i have ever used. From the performance to the controllers, it is really really bad. it is getting a little better since intel gave driver updates to the arc onboard gpu, but i do NOT RECOMMEND the onexplayer X1 with intel ARC as a gaming device. the AMD Versions are another story, they perform much better. If you only have to chose on device: get a steam deck. for windows devices the rog ally ( X ) is good choice price to performance wise....

@@Gamersghoul well first of all , it is not nice to navigate windows on an 7 inch display. The ROG Software is okay and when you play games it works fine. But it is not nearly as comfortable as steam os. not to mention that the steam deck performs great between 5-15 watts and the ally just starts performing good at 15 watts and above. If microsoft develops a gaming fork of windows just for gaming, like an xbox OS on windows, then it will be very interesting....
@@actioncooltv6837 legion go tends to get heat up at low tdp in some games, performance wise low tdp I tend to go to the deck. How many hours do you get out of the Oled? I agree an xbox os for windows handhelds would be good.
It depends in the Games i Play. Elden Ring Low settings about 2 hours, maybe 2,5. Emulation and 2D Games 4-6 hours. I try to keep around 8-10 Watts and Tinker with the settings. Also the Hardware Implementation of fsr ist really helping. The rog Ally battery is finished in less than an hour 3d titles....altough the Performance ist really great fps wise
@@actioncooltv6837 2.5 hours for elden ring is pretty good. I'm playing it myself on go.... Absolute grind to get to the dlc haha Asus rog doesn't interest me. The newer one seems good but expensive. I'm probs gonna sell my og deck and get an Oled.

the steamdeck control customization si crazy good even for one pc game that doesn't support native controller. For the specs it's only fair that steamdeck would be below other earlier build handheld (some of it can't even be called handheld anymore but a laptop hybrid). It's like comparing OG nintendo switch to ps 5 for a stupid reason. All other handheld is great butone with bigger screen is dumb

Lenovo is kinda greedy company the go is only cheap in US. Over here in Asia they charge an arm and a leg too a few hundred USD more than US

Bigger screen = better and more enjoyable, battery can be recharged, also bigger devices have bigger batteries, also going bigger screen wont take more power, 7 inch, 8.8inch or 11inch they all in same ballpark of power usage, 1watt or more or 1watt less
@@NoBodysGamerHaha bigger screen and higher res you can't take advantage off, because if you do the battery runs out after an hour 😂. So you end up halving the resolution and frequency so games look shit on a bigger screen. But you'll get 2 hours plus battery life. Valve got it right.

Look, people with YOUR type of logic should just game on PS vita/switch, if all you care is battery life, and you dont care about power, then you dont need PC handheld.
Im not traveling and game at home, i prefer power, but if you play indie games, even on Legion Go, the screen size and resolution dont have any effect on battery, SD screen takes as much power as the 8.8 LeGo screen.
Also, SD if you google its dimensions and google LeGo dimension they same size yet LeGo has bigger screen

This is one of the best videos I've seen on this. And as a content creator who owned the STEAM DECK LCD, ROG ALLY and now currently own the LEGION GO. This list was soo on point. LEGION GO is still one of the best out here along with the Rog Ally and now the X.

Right now, I’d say it’s the Rog Ally X because of the big ass battery, and the VRR screen which gives smooth frames and eliminates screen tearing. Second is Steam Deck Oled. Everything else is garbage imo.
Rog ally X is only good if you like small screens, i dont they useless and not enjoyable, also limiting.
Legion Go is the best for portable handheld with 8.8inch and OneXplayer X1 is the best all round with 11inch screen, can be turned into laptop, has 32Gb of RAM, both Thunderbolt and oculink, its a monster.
Steam deck is trash with antiquated hardware, good screen cant turn a trash device into good one.

consider which handheld isn't supporting a mega corporate monopoly for once, there was literally a driver which took down hundreds of Windows machines --all because people don't think about "what potential problems could be introduced by putting all our eggs in one basket". I'll take my freedom, no thanks on the ranking which didn't consider licensing.

@@E4K9 IDK, I only have the Decks, but a ranking predicated how long the battery lasts at stock settings would probably be a better metric to rank handhelds on vs raw performance, because the desktop is the platform for that. There's utility in a large group of PC users all having the same hardware, developers can more easily ensure that games are "optimized" for them, like how games get "optimized" for consoles.
@@oofnut123 who it effects is not the point but if you want something effecting home users: ads in the OS, ads in the solitaire, changing of telemetry settings on its users, the normalization of pop-ups, pop-up ads for other Microsoft services, and EULA-roofieing people though those are probably things you won't care about either.

Legion go is now around A minus actually, I was so slow close to returning it. The patches have improved it a lot. But deck should up there as A tier. Not due to specs but everything is else it offers.

@hk6926 Why? Just buy the Steam Deck. The ecosystem is everything (Apple and Nintendo proved it). By the way, if you want a handheld where you can play everywhere, it's the Steam Deck. The expensive devices here are gaming laptops, which you always need to put on a charger to play.
