One can use planes for this as well. But The cube is cool for having multiple images on each side. Thanks !

Yes, easier to get the details right!

      It really is!

Yes, the cube just makes it easier. The planes work the same, but you would have to rotate them.

i have an issue where no matter what i do the image i try to paint comes out as extremely low res. i was able to get it fine in my first attempts, but after i closed & didn’t save and now it refuses to be high res. what can i do?

Might be that the last save point was before you increased the cubes resolution. Check that first, most likely it’s really low res. The default save is five minutes. You can adjust the auto save in the folder icon at the top.

Great video! What version of Nomad are you using? I just updated and both the paintbrush and my falloff menus are different.

Oops, my bad, it’s not Front-facing vertex only it’s “Keep sharp edges” adjust above 50% 🙄

just remember to turn it off for other processes, will make your sculpts act odd if you forget to change it back.

Not sure if this option was available at the time of this recording but now you don’t need to create a mask to prevent bleeding of the image. You can now check the box in filters “Front-facing vertex only”👍

Yes, that makes things much easier. Hard to keep up with all the updates, which is a good thing!

Is there a way to make a cube with top, front, side views, etc, and have the sculpt in the middle? Then lower the opacity of the cube so you could see the sculpt? Or does the sculpt have to be outside the cube to work on?

Seems to work better behind or beside. Block feature for the objects would be great, but it is not an option right now.

Is there a way to make the image brighter like the reference i noticed the actual image is brighter In your demonstration then the one on the 3D model (cube)

    • @Original-Werks

It is possible that your paint settings are not quite right. Sometimes you have to play with the intensity of the paint for your image texture. Also make sure that you are using pure white and that your environment exposure is bright as well. (Sun Icon at top menu) Hope this helps!

Make sure that your color photo/image is selected as the material (Check box nest to paint color - should make Cube next to selected paint color appear with a live preview of texture paint) and that your paint color is white. It should make sense at about 47 seconds into the tutorial. Hope this helps!
