When my daughter was two, she had learned, that dog owners are obligated to pick Up after their dogs.
One day, she see an of leash dog pooping, and the owner (who's holding the leash), just walks on.
Then my daughter loudly said "Eww.. mommy, she didn't pick Up the poop".
The owner turned instant bright red.
    Guess she felt busted.

I said just a second and grabbed him a whole roll of poo bags as I got extra in my last chewy order for free. He was so embarrassed about running out but he's got 2 dogs and his 2 grand puppies hecwalks 2 times a day lol. I was glad to help. Told him to drop the baggies in my trash bin cuz it was next to the road for tomorrow puck up. In my Sister & BIL's house, the TV was on incessantly, especially during football season. My Dad & Mom hated that but never said anything because it was their house we were visiting. My BIL once had the nerve to tell my Dad to put the TV back on because he was watching a game. My Dad said, "in your house, you do what you want, in my house, the TV goes off when we sit down to dinner". P. S. My BIL rarely, if ever, came to my Parents' house again for a meal.

I'm a veterinarian and attended an animal forensics course once. The instructor told us a story about a veterinarian who was presented with a dog for euthanasia. The person bringing the dog was a concerned neighbor as the owner had claimed she had no money to pay a vet bill (the dog was laying in the garage crying and moaning). The vet suspected the dog's injuries were due to physical abuse, not an accident, and notified animal welfare. When animal welfare arrived at the home, the child that answered the door had bruises all over his body. Long story short- the child was put into protective custody. Folks do treat their kids and pets the same way.

Parents are kids' first teachers. I told my Dad that when I asked him for an explanation of why I couldn't do something. He would always say, "Because I Said So". I told him, that doesn't tell me anything, so don't expect me not to do it again... I need an explanation. So, he started to give me very short, to-the-point explanations. The first time I did something he had told me to do, I saw him smiling & shaking his head as to say, "she really was listening to me". Yeah, Parents, your kids listen to you AND they watch everything you do. So set the tone & the example.
Funny story... My Sister & BIL wanted to go to a restaurant with their two oldest (who are 1 yr apart in age). My Sister set up 'the home restaurant' where she played the waitstaff & Daddy, Sissy, & Brother were the customers. She even made them menus & told them what was on them. They did a smashing job ordering their food & drinks, & waiting patiently for them to arrive at the table, & they spoke in conversational volume while waiting. My Sister & BIL never had to scold them in a restaurant because of that little run-through, at home.

For the first story, OP was definitely in the right. I'm a very harsh person to those who give attitude or disrespect people I care for. In the circumstance where my dad would talk to my gf/fiancé/wife like that, I'd have simply stood up, walked over, leaned down and said "As stated, his right hand is injured and doesn't work correctly. If you'd like, I'll gladly break your hand right now and then we'll feed you ourselves. So what's it gonna be?" Would I actually break his hand? I'm notorious amongst my friends for not backing down if someone tries to bluff me. If he dared me to do it, I'd go for it. He'd break before I did. Thankfully, my dad isn't an entitled moron like OPs FIL. He's actually the best dad I could've asked for

Story 6- I wonder if the lady planned this out? I don't see it out of possibility that a Karen would lock her child and keys in a car so that someone would have to break a window to save the child, and then she would turn on and sue whoever damaged her car. I imagine accidentally locking your keys in your car is not very common, she was explicit from the start about how she would sue anyone that damaged her car (even if only to save her child), she valued the car over her child, and she certainly didn't seem to care about her child possibly suffering severe harm or death. She definitely isn't a good person, so I see the possibility.

My Sister once locked her baby in the car. She had laid her down in the backseat to change her diaper & placed her purse on the floorboard. She thought she put her keys in her pocket but she had put them back into her purse. Somehow the door closed & locked. When she realized what happened, she screamed for someone to come watch my Niece so she could go into the store & call our Dad (who always carried every key that any of us ever owned) to come to unlock the door. By the time our Dad got there, my Sister was a hysterical mess, whiter than a sheet, & almost ready to pass out. My Sister was also pregnant with her second child at the time- yikes. This was in Florida & was before cell phones & the 'punch' devices which crack windows. Thankfully, it only took 10 minutes for our Dad to get there but my Niece was dripping wet with sweat. It doesn't take very long for a baby to overheat & die. I strongly recommend that if you have a baby or an animal, get one of those 'punch' devices. I got one because too many cars got lifted up & swept into canals during tropical storm season in Florida.

Anyway, a lady came up to chat with the lady in front of us - the line began to move and she turns to us and said - “I’m sure these ladies won’t mind me stepping in line with you (her friend)”. I spoke up and said “yes, we do mind - go to the end of the line and wait like the rest of us. “. My mom looked looked mortified as I had never, ever stood up to anyone before that (and I was a timid adult at that time). No problems with me standing up for what is right after than. Hope I never run into a Karen!!!!!!!

The last story reminds me of the other day. I drop my kiddo off at a daycare every morning at about 5:30am. This place has ample parking and a nice visitor section only 4 spaces or so from the door that I like to park in. the spaces before this entire section are all meant to be reserved for disabled parking. Particularly the first spot for loading and unloading wheelchairs. Well each and every morning and afternoon Karen shows up with her three kids and parks in the first space. Now I'm not being presumptuous when I say she IS NOT disabled. Does not have any permits or a license plate or sticker or even one of the passes that hangs from the mirror. She is just lazy. And this drives me absolutely nuts and I mutter something under my breath every morning about her taking the space from the super nice office attendant that IS actually disabled and actually works there. On this morning the attendant and several others who needed the spaces legitimately actually got there before Karen. So Karen was forced to park in the spot I would normally be in. But I didn't mind at all. There is an entire parking lot after all so I chose another nearby spot. When my kid and I got out of the car Karen was 'unloading' her kids aka letting them scramble out of the car into the lot and paying little attention to the incoming cars. My daughter practically screamed "look mommy she parked in the right spot today! She didn't take miss C's special spot!" The woman's face got beat red and was muttering under her breath. The next day I was walking to the door and a little girl maybe 2 ran up to the door at the same time. Confused that she wasn't with an adult I turned around looking for a parent but to my shock there was Karen pulled up to the side of the building just letting these small kids run through the parking lot and sped away as her poor small kids attempted to try and buzz themselves into the secure daycare. I helped the kids inside and saw that they were taken in by a care provider checked my own kid in and left. By the afternoon I had heard from the other moms that the facility that Miss C and the facility director were outraged to find out she just left the kids without making sure they even got in safely let alone got to their teachers and asked Karen to never return and find alternative care elsewhere.
