    Great video! Shocked to hear that a KIA EV costs 70L in India. I currently own a Tesla Model 3 standard range which costed $43k approx 35L INR. For half of Kia's price I get 270 miles - approx 430 Kms of range. Unless a car manufacturer builds a robust super charging network in India, which I am hoping will take forever, comparing a Kia with Tesla will never be apt. Tesla, more than a car company, it is a data company. Tesla runs the best software and no one can match their super charging network.

Then he might get a 500 atleast. This is my take. And I experienced the same in kona electric

    For EV cars most two important things are 1. Charging Infrastructure 2. Inbuilt Route Planner. Both are very good here in denmark. I personally own ev6, here it costs around 60Lakh. For the weather conditions here, i get around 350km on full charge. Whereas the charging speed in almost all highway chargers gives max 350kwh. So ev6 can take max 235kwh. Every 250km i take breaks and in the meantime car also charges to 90% in 30mins. So, for India right now ev cars are not a best fit in my view as we lack the above 2key things which drives everything.

    • @Raveendhana
      @Raveendhana Год назад

      Can you say what is the average speed you maintain, I guess with the 350km you get per charge, you average speed might be 100-130?, as I have said above Evs are throttle sensitive and speed sensitive,
      And in India as you said you can push the ev6 to the limit provided you have the charging infra and plan carefully, I think the ev6 can do 120kmph and still have some battery left for a 500 km drive with one top up along the journey

    • @karthidev389

      Because if you are able to maintain 100-110 and still get 350 na, with a good infrastructure it's good where you live, here infrastructure is a main issue, and with the battery depleating faster at high speed then we need more DC fast chargers in highways

    Very good points discussed. Great job Mr. Birla. Very educative for people in dilemma. Certainly, spending 70L and suffering from range anxiety on the highways is not worth. EV infrastructure in Tamil Nadu (in particular) is really poor. The point is: This car has a killer performance 100kmph under 5 seconds, but you can't take it long on the highways (with peace of mind), which makes this performance unusable in the city. That defeats the whole purpose of this high performance. Overall, too early to invest confidence and hard earned money.

      The goverment will say 100kmph in highways even that is difficult for budget evs, am not defending him but still people make mistakes, the high mileage they say will always make people to make mistakes, BYD gonna come with blade technology let's see how it is

    • @Raveendhana
      @Raveendhana Год назад

      @@vijayendranvijay4538 OK I will explain, currently EVs are projected as replacement for petrol vehicles, yes if the usage is for city no issues as you are not going cover a huge distance everyone day. But since the ev market is new, a tiago with a highest mileage varient itself gonna cost around 12lakhs with a predicted mileage of 350, a budget user who wants to buy a car for highways also at 12 lakhs will hesitate for the following reasons
      1 you talked about Arai and you never get the certified mileage etc, yes I know about it as an engineer and a consultant.
      Point is if you are travelling long distance eg my native from Chennai to erode for 430 kms, all I have to do is a tank fill, mileage varies depending upon the power,
      2 regarding time, Google says it takes 7 hours now with the road work going on, am not a saint, but am a responsible driver I and my dad maintain 90-110, with occasional 120, with the highways upgraded to 100, now it's not only about speed it's about acceleration too for quick overtakes after doing all this in most case we do 7 hours as per Google said, which includes 30-45 mins for lunch too.
      3 so it's not about mileage, mileage is secondary, it's about time you see and putting fuel only gonna take a few minutes, and I don't have range anxiety which will affect my journey time also
      4 so coming to EV the issue here is as you said the more you push the more it will drain, in a absolute scenario if you are gonna fast charge via DC it takes 57 minutes, for 10 - 80 in Tiago
      5 and for even to attain 200-250 I have to keep my speedo at 75-80 with smooth acceleration, so I have to all this with proper planning
      6 then the charging points have to work, then it should have DC etc all the bla bla bla
      And I have to get the same 7 hrs travel time
      Can you do it?????????

    Simple, please don't buy EV cars, being in Canada have driven different electric cars including Tesla model 3, model Y, Polestar 2, EV 6, Cadillac, 100% you will regret after buying one. I am saying this even after with a well developed infrastructure for charging in Canada. The main reason is the range anxiety, you will loose sudden range drop in any EVs. It won't be suitable for any long trip even a 200km long distance. Car is something that should take you to Point A to B and it should work for your time. Unless you wanted to drive 30-50 kms per day and you will not take it to any longer road trips which is not worth the cost given the price of EVs when compared to ICE engines.

    adapavi 70 lakhs for a electric vehicle in INDIA. even a simple first time common buyer wont make this decision. Electric vehicle in India lets wait for another 25 years in India. Apo kooda doubt dha.

    my understanding ... seems to be a well designed car, great performance though a little costy for its brand value. but the biggest problem is this guy had purchased without understanding his own need.. it is a pity he purchased a performance car and is complaining that it is responding too fast

    I can easily beat this with my BMW 530 d….. torque is overrated. Handling and aerodynamics plays a major role. Practical usability matters over straight displacement.

      Bro this guy doesn’t know how to drive properly bro… he can race only on straight roads due to instant torque… but after 192 he cannot go faster…bcoz his max speed is 192kmph😂…I have smoked this guy with my Tiguan itself on the same road where they were reviewing🤣🤣

    70L is not worth at the moment. Charging stations are not equipped in all the places. It will take around 5 years to develop the charging stations. He should have considered Volvo or GT version cars. truly speaking, if u have considered base version of AUDI, BMW, instead of KIA EV, better. As he said it is good for Citi use or short trips like Chennai to Pondy. Chennai to Bangalore maximum. It's like intercity commuter. But his car looks awesome but only problem with long drive range.
